I Need to Stop Staying Up so Late

Try to sleep, don't get it so I end up watching TV. I catch an episode of Bleach here and there. Well, I managed to catch one tonight. Which, once again, Orihime has managed to piss me off by just existing.

Now, the manga gives me a taste of how much of a Mary-Sue she is. But the anime has decided to turn her into a full blown Purity Sue.

What's a Purity Sue (or Helpful Sue)?

A Purity Sue is typically a character who can change the hardest of personalities to become something softer. The said person with a hard personality might make excuses such as 'I don't want to owe you any favors!' but the Purity Sue's kindness has already 'changed' them into becoming soft hearted for the person who helped them.

These Sue's are typically very innocent, ditzy, soft spoken, clumsy, and often have their heads in the clouds.

So of course, I'm pissed off at Bleach for taking an already bad enough Sue and making it into something worse.

Has this ever happened to you? Just found a character that was already bad and just made worse but everyone and their mother still loves them with no reason other than 'she's so nice/pretty!'

Because I'm finding it's happening quite a bit more often to me and my fandoms.
