Subject: Favorite Movie? Why Do You Like It? Sat Aug 25, 2012 10:58 pm
So, this is a topic about what your favorite movie is and explain why you like it. Be as creative with explaining why you like it (you don't have to if you don't want), we're all friends here so don't be shy!
I guess I'll start.
Favorite Movie: Aliens
Year: 1986
Why?: Well, it started when I was 13 when I discovered this movie. I didn't realize that it was second in the Quadrility behind Alien; so I was kind confused during the beginning. If I had a favorite character; it would be Cpl. Dwayne Hicks (played by Michael Biehn). I just loved the whole idea of his character, and just crushed on him throughout the movie. Sadly enough they killed him off in Alien 3.

Film: Love Actually
Year: I think it was 2001 but I'm not sure.
Reason: It's kind of ironic that this would be my favourite since I don't usually go for romance. But this is a romantic comedy with an amazing message and it makes me feel better about the world we live in. I even cried on the opening, because it's so true! It just gives you hope and determination not to give up on love, even when things seem hopeless.

Movie title: Night at the Roxbury
Year:1998
Why?: Why not!! It is beyond hilarious, my sister and I can quote the move exactly word, for word. And it isn't even those reasons either, it is the fact that they are kinda the under dogs and the odd balls, and at the end they become top dog. (: I love it. I know anyone can put themselves in their shoes. And who doesn't like a movie with Will Ferrell and Chris Katan in it? (:

Speaking of crushes, his character makes me think of Reapers (Who Karl Urban plays) in doom. That kick started that! Lol. I love that movie, and after I get home from work today I am thinking of having a doom// Aliens// and night at the roxbury marathon. Lol

I've heard of those films you guys stated, I watched them during Summer Break because of all the downtime.
~
Film: Rumble Fish (which was based on the S.E. Hinton book)
Year: 1983
Reason: Oh sweet dear lord, where do I start? I mean, I've always been a fan of Matt Dillon (The Flamingo Kid, The Outsiders) and all. But it was one of the first movies I've watched starring Mickey Rourke; who played The Motorcyle Boy. I did enjoy the movie as well as the book, it gave me something to think about after I watched it.

Film: Planet Terror
Year: 2007
Reason: Oh god, I loved it for Michael Biehn as Sheriff Hague. But I loved the whole Grindhouse thing (considering Death Proof), I like watching zombies get shot by badasses and hot girls. It just amuses me.. Bruce Willis was in the movie as well. In Texas, the gang leaded by the black market dealer Abby faces a group of renegade militaries leaded by Captain Muldoon (Willis) in an abandoned military base.
All-in-all, I liked the movie. The ending? See for yourself:
I wish I couldn explain the ending but you have to see the whole movie for yourselves

Film: Dragonheart
Year: 1996
Reason: I really can't say much on it other than it was something I really grew up with. I had seen the film so many times as a child and growing up, I still love it. I still cry when Draco has to sacrifice himself. It still hits pretty hard to me.
Not to mention that at such an early time when movie 'effects' were just getting big, seeing a dragon looks so real was pretty amazing. And the voice acting really fit as well.
It's a film that I think will stick with me for a long time, just like my love for dragons. Won't be something I'd give up anytime soon.

Movie? The Avengers!
Year: 2012
Reason: JUST LOOK AT ALL THOSE BUTTS.
But really, the screenplay and filming is amazing, the characters and actors are all incredibly dynamic on and off stage, the script is to die for, and everyone is just so cute.
Not to mention the ass load of other Marvel movies being made because of the success of the Avengers (and the ones leading up to it)
