A small six year old boy with short dark brown hair sat with his grandma and grandpa watching the world news having not heard from his mummy. Looking at the screen with his dark chocolate brown eyes the little boy waited in anticipation and a bundle of nerves. The past few days had been especially rough when he starting having dreams about his mom being taken to another world. His grandparents thought he just missed her and that he meant that he beloved she would die.
The TV flickered from a Lucky Charms commercial to the world news. “Hello everyone I’m Sarah Hill with channel twelve world news.” The usual was said and shown about wars in different countries and so on then came the worse news the little boy, Ashton Foster, and his grandparents could ever receive.
“We have recived the information that one of America’s soldiers died yesterday morning while on Patrol in Iraq’s Anbar Province. And to tell us of this story is Jack Reid. Well Jack.”
The screen switched to a older gentleman with a air base and sand behind him.
“Thank you Sarah. It was here at the Al Asad Air Base that currently housed around 350 of U.S. troops mainly composed of advisers and support personnel. They were currently helping the 7
th Iraqi Division with developing mission planning, information sharing, coordinating close air support operations and security strategies which includes patrols.”
Taking a breath the older gentleman walks towards a building and continues to speak, “Yesterday (August 21), a U.S. Marine Unit took some of the Iraqi forces to patrol what was currently thought to be a peaceful sector and so this was the only reason that the Chaplain of the unit, Chaplian Mike Morrison and his RP (RP – Religious Program Specialist) were with the unit instead of here on base.”
Walking away from the building he pointed far off into the desert.
“Yesterday, Peggy Foster, a young female third class petty officer in the Navy died while protecting Chaplian Morrison. The Marine Unit was still within the Iraq’s Anbar Province and were not expecting an ambush. Sadly this sad story of an respected RP dieing in the line of duty only worsens. Having recovered her body she was put in a building till they could arrange transport for her to be returned home. But last night it seemed that her body just disappeared. According to the head of the unit and base security. No one knows how her body was taken due to the fact that nothing else was stolen and the area in which she was placed was still secured. We will continue to update you with the story as it develops. Back to you Sarah.”
The above is a story I have in mind it is to be a fanfiction. But I don't want to reveal which just yet and thought I could share a preview also in hopes of finding out what others think of such an introduction?
