Rapp didn't mention that it was pretty easy to hear with the ears he had. Hers were rather small and probably didn't pick on noise as well as any of the people here. Maybe he'd test that in time. Regardless, he was more focused on eating a good meal.

Rekka seemed a little hesitant though. Her stomach could be upset or something, for all he knew. Despite the loud growl, she did seem to be a little on edge at points. Who knew, it wasn't like he could really say.

"What's wrong?" he asked bluntly after a moment, "Are you constipated or somethin'?"

His mother didn't seem to appreciate that comment, smacking him on the back of his head. Rapp rubbed the smarted area, even though it didn't hurt that bad. It wasn't like she needed to know that, though!

"I was just askin'!" he protested.

"That's not something you ask someone, especially at the dinner table!" Rapp's mother replied in turn, "Don't be mean, Rapp!"

Rapp grumbled under his breath. It wasn't like he meant it to be mean! He was just askin', was all!

He'd chuckled. That was an odd sound, another thing that she found she wasn't quite used to. Laughing wasn't often a good thing. Some staff members were cruel. People didn't are about the undesirables in the world, after all, so some did what they wanted.

Still, this was a good natured thing, it seemed, as he took to explaining the possibility of Peyote giving himself that name. Did a lot of shamans do that? Maybe in time, she would ask.

"Is that what a lot of shamans do?" she inquired.

If many were shunned by society, maybe that was the case. She couldn't say. Grace didn't even know if there were any others who shared her ability in the asylum. Maybe there were or maybe those people were actually crazy. It got hard to tell sometimes.

He motioned to the sky, where his own spirit had gone. That big thing had looked a little scary, though she hadn't commented on it. As long as it was keeping an eye out for trouble, she didn't care.

"Okay," she answered him, "I think I can manage that much..."

Grace still worried, however, of when the worst of these withdrawals would hit. She'd heard stories about how that went and none of them were pretty.

Rekka's attention had been firmly on her plate of food even as she nodded absently to Rapp's father. She could hear the clink of forks on plate, scraping occasionally though it wasn't a noise that was loud enough to be grating. Mostly she just pushed her food around, attempting to work up the will to eat something, if only to avoid questions.

It clearly didn't work as Rapp quickly asked about it only to receive a good whack from his mother, startling Rekka slightly. She blinked up owlishly, unsure of what to say or do as Rapp argued back that he'd only been curious. Still, Rekka silently agreed with his mom.

"If you're 'just askin' you might as well ask something less invasive, Rapp," his father started in, pausing long enough to take another bite of food. "It might save you from a thumpin' if you do!"

It seemed so natural, like she'd always been here with how they were acting. Even so, Rekka found she was tense, uncertain and tired. Would she ever fit in around here? Her own mom and dad were gone, probably worried and scared for her and her big brother...

Finally, she pushed her plate away and declared, "I'm not that hungry..."

Mohammed offered a shrug at her question. He wasn't sure what the majority did just what he and the rest of Hao's followers had taken to doing. He didn't think that made a huge majority out of all of them in the world. Still, it wasn't like Grace had the prior knowledge and scope to know that.

"Not all of us I should think, only those who have reason for it," he answered patiently. Now that she wasn't being difficult, lost in the thralls of withdrawal and panic, his patience was slowly on the mend. It was better this way, now that she was able to speak to him so rationally.

He moved to seat himself at the base of a tree. Who knew how long they would have to wait for Peyote, after all. It would be best to rest and gather his own thoughts. If Grace had more questions then he would answer them as they came but for all he knew this had been enough for now. She still looked out of sorts as it was.

"Right now it would be best to remain out of cities and towns," he warned instead. It was the most he could do, just in case something happened. "There is more than just a bit of chaos there to be seen."

He glanced at her then, noting the confusion. Ah, she wouldn't know how society worked anyways outside of an asylum. With that it was even more imperative that she knew to remain wary of larger groups of people that weren't shaman then.

Rapp had blinked when Rekka excused herself from the table. It was a little strange to go to bed without anything to eat but Rapp wasn't about to open his mouth. Already, he'd been hit twice now! He didn't need another hit.

The evening more or less remained quiet, his parents trying to make Rekka comfortable in their home. It wasn't much and for the most part, Rekka remained quiet apart from a few replies here and there. Even Rapp prodding her didn't do a thing.

Much of the week remained that way. She'd finally gotten hungry enough to eat but during the day when Rapp was playing with friends, Rekka was off somewhere else. On occasion, Rapp trailed after her, trying to hide away the best he could, just to see what she was up to.

He was surprised to find her doing chores and working during the day, tasks the adults normally wouldn't ask of the children.

His eyebrows furrowed at that, wandering closer to her. She hadn't noticed him yet as she worked. Rapp stuck his finger in his ear again, twisting it this way and that before he spoke, "Hey! What are you doin' weirdo?"

That had startled her, probably really far into her own mind. Rapp didn't really care. He just wanted to know why Rekka was working and not enjoying herself!

"Ya should be playin', ya know, not workin'!"

Grace offered a hum in response, playing with the strap on the canteen. It was a distraction at this point and nothing more. It seemed like they would be here for a while until this Peyote showed up.

She blinked, lifting her head with his next comment. Eyebrows furrowed, she wasn't sure what he had meant by that.

"Did the earthquake really stretch that far?" she inquired after a moment, "Why was everyone panicking anyways?"

She recalled that, people on the streets, shouts, panic, there was a lot of it. At a point, she even remembered gun shots. It was all terrible and yet, she had no idea why it was happening.

"Do you...know what's going on?" she dared to ask, hoping that in some way, he might at least drop a hint. Then again, perhaps she was just jumping to conclusions here too.

The week passed slowly even if Rapp's parents did their best to make her feel welcomed in their home. It just wasn't the same, not without her own mom and dad there and her brother coming to visit. At least during the day there were things to do to avoid thinking about it, but at night, it was hard to deal with the loneliness and homesickness. She was sure Rapp hadn't heard her cry on occasion or else he would've said something by now.

So a pattern had emerged, even if Rekka wasn't quite at ease in this strange place with long-eared folks. They all seemed nice enough though, even if some of them took to staring at her ears from time to time. That day was no different, as she took off 'round the village to find someone who would let her do chores for whatever they had to spare. If she worked and did well then they wouldn't be so likely to make her go away, right? That's how Dad had always told her good workers were treated, kept around 'cause they did things properly and were useful. So, she'd do that even if she wanted to do other things.

It was a simple chore today, pulling out weeds she was steadily growing familiar to overtime. She didn't like the dirt under her nails and all over her hands but if it meant staying--

Rekka jerked at the sudden sound of Rapp's voice, turning to blink warily up at him as he fussed with his ear again. He looked curious, his eyebrows knitted together as he waited for her to answer him. For a moment she had no reply, heart still beating hard in her chest.

"Stupid! If I work then I won't be thrown away," she snapped, turning back to the little garden at hand. Ah, where had she stopped? As she scanned the garden for the already weeded-out spots she reached up with dirty hands to tuck her hair behind her ears out of habit. She halted mid-action before letting her now dirtied hair to fall back over them. No use makin' them stand out more, right?

Mohammed had lowered his head, allowing a sigh to escape him. It had been awhile since last he'd rested like this, moving quickly with Peyote. There had been little time for it other than at night. Now was a blessing even if it meant having to keep an eye on Grace as well. Ah, but she wasn't being troublesome now so he would not worry at the moment.

He didn't glance up when she asked her new batch of questions. If he was honest, well, he'd expected them to come sooner rather than later at this rate. She was curious, eager to learn now that she knew she was not of unsound mind.

"I do, however now is not the time to delve into it," Mohammed answered dismissively. How would she react to find out there was a king to all of them now? A king that now worked to remove humans from existence entirely even... She may be happy about that latter part, actually.

He stretched his neck, feeling a pleasant crack or two in the process. Though he answered her Mohammed couldn't promise all of them would be informative answers, not right now anyways. There was still the risk that she might grow hostile again, suffering through those withdrawals. Being locked away, it might have done her worse than any of those medications ever could.

"Put it from your mind right now, you'll find out in time," he promised.

Rapp didn't get it. It wasn't like anyone was rejecting her or bullying her. She got a weird look once in a while but in the passed week, word about her had passed pretty quick. Most everyone knew she was staying here.

So why did she think they would just flat out abandon her if she wasn't giving back? They weren't that cold! It might have been an exception but she didn't need to worry this much!

"That's dumb," he told her her instead, putting his hands on his hips, "No one's kicking ya out! If they wanted to, they woulda done it by now!"

Rapp felt there was truth in that statement. If someone really, really had a problem with it, they would have made a fuss already. For the most part, everyone seemed okay with the decision.

"Tossin' a kid out wouldn't sit right with most adults," he continued after a moment, "Even if they're weirdos."

He then jabbed a thumb in his direction, puffing out his chest a little. A proud expression over took his face as he continued, "And if anyone tells ya different, I'll take care of it!"

He seemed to be relaxing as if this would be the last chance he got to do it. Why was that? What was really going on here? Grace's mind whirled with the thoughts, making her dizzy all over again. He wasn't giving her any answers, not yet at least...

For the time being, she'd have to wait, it seemed. Maybe he was just waiting until the worst of her withdrawals passed or until this Peyote arrived. Who knew. All she was aware of was there was a big air of mystery around the whole thing.

"Hmm...well, if you say so," she answered him, returning to toying with the strap again.

Time passed slowly in this manner. Small talk was on and off. Her throat started to feel scratchy, if she was honest with herself. This was the most she'd spoken in years. She felt tired and yet, was too wired to sleep. Honestly, more days than not, she'd been under some heavy sleep medication too...

The sun was steadily sinking below the horizon when his strange ghost returned, apparently informing him that Peyote was on his way.

Grace heaved a sigh, running a hand over her forehead. Did she feel clammy? She couldn't quite tell. She figured maybe she was just tired, at least, at the moment.

Rapp didn't get the hint that she was trying to get back to work. Even when she'd turned back to the garden to finish weeding it he was talking, quite confidently at that. She huffed, attempting to ignore her hair in her face. When she tucked it behind her ears they drew more attention and while no one bullied or teased her about them it still made her self-conscious.

"I'm not gonna be some dumb kid forever," she snapped again, as if that was the most obvious thing that drove her now.

Already she'd reached out to yank out another weed, as if this finished the conversation. She was already hot and sticky, the sun beating down on her through the canopy where it could. That would have been fine on its own if not for the humid air clinging to her thickly. She tried to ignore it, to not fuss with her hair but it was growing increasingly difficult, even more so as she grew irritated at Rapp's prodding.

"Like a dummy like you could do much of anything anyways," she muttered under breath, as if to further settle the matter. It was easier to claim those things than to admit that it helped keep her mind from other things.

The time that passed slowly didn't bother Mohammed much though he did wonder if it annoyed Grace or not. She might very well have expected more from the outside world than this. Well, no matter, she'd see and experience more when everything had settled nicely. Until then, well, Grace would have to bear with him and the others if she did not befall something horrid before the end.

Eventually Djinn returned from high above, a spirit of few words, to tell of Peyote's oncoming. Mohammed rose, nodding his thanks to Djinn. Without him Grace might have been more apt to attack his friend without warning.

"It seems you'll be able to meet Peyote and his ally in just a few minutes," Mohammed announced, nodding towards Grace and Soran this time. He paused, eyeing her carefully. She didn't seem well off, more so than earlier... "Are you all right?"

When he did not receive an immediate answer from her, Mohammed turned his attention instead to her ally. Perhaps he had information for him when she did not. It would at least be helpful in the long run if that was the case, especially if he'd taken the time to peer around the asylum for information.

Rapp waited for her to say something but all she did was get back to work. Where was the fun in this? It wasn't like anyone was making her do it or anything. Why was she so afraid that she would be abandoned out there?

"Duh," he finally said, shifting his weight a little, "So why ain't ya enjoyin' bein' a kid now?"

Maybe that would make her stop? Rekka was stubborn, that much he had gotten. He just wished that she would do something for herself rather than do all this dumb stuff she didn't need to do.

"Ey, come on!" he pressed some more, "Come on and play or something! This can't be any fun!"

Still, she did not move. Rapp huffed again, annoyed that she wasn't listening to her. He moved toward her side and grabbed hold of her arm, trying to drag her away from the weeds. Rekka resisted though, putting all her weight forward.

"Come on, dummy!" he shouted, "Yer gonna waste your life doin' this kind of dumb stuff!"

Grace could feel herself growing dizzy. She heard Turbine's words and his question but couldn't answer them. She felt sick, worse than she had ever felt before. Beside her, Soran had moved to her side, placing a wing on her leg as if that could extend some amount of comfort.

"She's been out for quite a few days," she heard Soran explain, concern in his tone, "I had hoped this would not hit so quickly but...perhaps it is best it's happening now."

Grace curled up inward on herself, wrapping her arms around her stomach. It hurt and she became aware of her shaking. How long was this going to go on?

"I don't know if there's anything we can do..." Soran had spoken again, glancing at Turbine.

"Hmmm, well, I would have expected to see you on your own, Turbine," a new voice rang out, one Grace didn't recognize, "Something the matter, amigo?"

Ignoring him didn't seem to be doing much good, in fact it only seemed to spur Rapp on. Even so Rekka did her best to finish weeding the garden before the man came home. It didn't look like Rapp was gonna allow that with the way he took hold of her arm and tried to tug her away from the garden. A startled yelp escaped Rekka before she threw her weight forward, fighting Rapp's insistence even now.

"Shut up, dummy! You're not the boss 'a me!" Rekka protested. "It's not like you'd get it anyways!"

He still had his home, his family and his friends and he didn't have to work so hard to try to avoid growing more homesick and start crying about it like a big baby all the time. The fear was still there too, that she'd be thrown to monsters all alone. If she worked then she was useful and useful things weren't thrown away so easily.

Maybe it was the jumbled worries and sorrow or maybe it was the heat getting to her, but Rekka's vision briefly grew dark and she felt herself being pulled backwards. The air rushed from her lungs as she landed with a hard thump on her back, blinking up at the leafy canopy of the nearby tree and Rapp's worried gaze as he hovered over her. From the looks of it he hadn't meant to send her toppling right over. Her face grew red--or did it grow redder considering she was already hot from working in the humid morning?--and she turned away even if she made no move yet to push herself up. Her head swam dizzyingly after that as it was.

"S-See what you did now?" she muttered feebly.

Mohammed's brow had furrowed briefly before he'd pushed himself up to hover near Grace's side. It would be here that Peyote would glimpse the pair, curiosity evident in his voice. Mohammed merely shook his head, a hand over Grace's forehead. She was certainly clammy and it didn't take much to figure out what Soran spoke of.

It was only after a minute or so had passed did Mohammed speak to Peyote in greeting. "She's been put away in an asylum for seeing spirits her whole life until now, Peyote. I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with the effects the medicine's withdrawals will have on her, however..."

Mohammed glanced up at Peyote then, hoping that he had some clue at least. Mexico was notorious for it's drug trafficking, if Peyote had not experienced it firsthand he might have seen it in others. That could even come in handy now compared to Mohammed's lack of knowledge and experience on the matter.

"I hate to ask but...?" Mohammed trailed off then, gesturing at Peyote.

It wasn't a topic that came up in their long friendship. Whatever happened in their pasts was just that, in the past. But now that very past might aid in helping Grace now. Anything at all was better than nothing.

Turning from Peyote then, Mohammed tore away his turban, revealing his face to Grace for the first time that day. It was a chilly day out here and Grace growing clammy wasn't going to help her any. Mohammed was already working to wrap the clothe about her neck like a scarf, if only to help sweat the clamminess away.

She was fighting again, arguing with hims stubbornly. What in the world was on this girls mind to make her do things like this? She didn't say anything, just threw herself into doing tasks as if it might help. How boring that was!

"If ya'd just say something, maybe I would get it!" he shouted back in return.

A lot of stuff flew over his head, he knew that really well. He said stupid stuff and half the time, got hit for it. Still, it wasn't like he wasn't trying to help. All he wanted to do was give her a hand, make her a little happier. She just didn't seem to want that.

The arguing didn't get much further than that. Rapp's grip loosened from Rekka and she went flying backwards, hitting the ground with a heavy thud. He was quick to her side, blinking down at her. It didn't look like she was hurt, just red in the face.

When she shouted at him, a grin tugged at Rapp's lips. It wasn't a moment after did he start to laugh. He couldn't help it! The way she had looked up at him, so angry and annoyed was too funny!

"So ya are able to have fun!" he teased in response, "Lookit ya! Your all dirty now!"

She had more or less landed in the dirt that she had been digging through, trying to weed that garden. Now, she was a mess with it too.

"Come on! Ya can't tell me that wasn't fun! Laugh! You should be able to do that much, right?"

Peyote paused, quiet as he waited on Turbine to speak. Seeing that expression of concern hidden away was somewhat normal. He'd always had a soft spot for the underdog and people who weren't apt to protect themselves. The information he parted with, however, gave Peyote enough insight to act.

"Ah, well you've the right idea there," Peyote said, already tugging his large hat from his head. He pulled the bandanna from his mouth, heaving a sigh. A moment later, he'd tugged his poncho off, moving closer to the woman, "If we had a bath, it'd have just been best to toss her in. We'll just have to work with what we have."

It wasn't much but the poncho would keep her warm enough as he slipped it over her. It seemed so much larger, draped over a scrawny frame.

"I take it you've dealt with this kind of thing before...?" the owl spirit asked.

Peyote had sat down, setting his guitar nearby just in case it was needed. He would focus on making something to try and calm the woman's fits. Dabbing in natural medicines was something of a hobby he'd picked up after being brought into Hao's fold.

"When you're young and stupid," Peyote started to answer, pulling herbs and dried leaves from his shoulder bag, "You try a lot of things, some I am not too proud to admit. I can't say I know what kind of medicines they put in her but I can at least try to ease it a little."

"That would be nice," Grace finally managed to choke out, "This is...literally the worst pain..."

"And it will be for some time, chicka. You're just going to have to endure it."

Rekka might have appreciated the concern that had been there briefly if Rapp hadn't immediately started laughing afterwards. Her face felt hotter even as she forced herself up and tried to brush away the dirt that clung to her. She felt way too hot and dizzy. Was it the humid heat? Rekka wasn't sure.

Her movements felt a little sluggish even though she tried to ignore it. She wasn't gonna get anything done like this. Dad wouldn't be very proud of her like this...

"Jerk," she muttered half-heartedly. "That hurt."

She halted briefly, realizing she'd gone to tuck her hair behind her ears again. Nearby she spotted a pair of people, glancing their way and looking somewhat amused. Her face burned all the more, unsure of why they were smiling. All the same she quickly let her hair fall back over her ears.

"If you wanna play why don't you go play? I'm supposed to be busy," she argued further though it was a half-hearted attempt.

Well, at the very least Peyote knew what to do and Mohammed hadn't been entirely wrong in what he'd started doing. Working Grace through this, however, that was going to take time. At the very least Mohammed wasn't alone in dealing with this. Soran's question only confirmed what Mohammed had thought might be the case.

Swathed in an overly large poncho, Grace looked smaller than ever. It would help her though and she didn't seem to be ungrateful about the effort they were showing to help her. Whether or not she would remain lucid like this for long though... Mohammed wasn't sure how they were going to deal with that.

"At least you're not going through it alone," Mohammed pointed out after Peyote's comment. That much might be enough to keep her going after so long of being alone.

When Mohammed sat back again he remained nearer to Grace, ready to do what was asked of him if need be. Peyote was the knowledgable one here and Mohammed would defer to his judgement in this instance. He only hoped that no one would stumble upon this grove that would try to do any of them harm. A fight while Grace was in this condition wouldn't go well.

"We'll be here for you through this," Mohammed promised at least.

Rekka didn't seem at all happy about anything. Rapp calmed his laughter once again. He glanced back at her, aware that her face was red. Was she swaying a little on her feet, going to tuck her hair behind her ears. She seemed to think different of it, letting her hair fall back over them.

Rapp huffed, thinking through what she had said. He needed to get her out of this funk somehow! She needed to do something different than just working all the time.

He stepped forward again, reaching out and, like before, grabbed her ears, starting to pull. If it hurt, she didn't show it right away.

"I won't let go until you stop doin' these dumb chores!" he protested quickly, "Come on, no one is gonna send you off!"

They wouldn't do that, they couldn't. Rekka hadn't done anything wrong and the elder had already given his okay. She would be fine here as long as things remained peaceful. That didn't mean that she had to work all the time!

"Well, what are ya gonna do about it?" he challenged easily, waiting for her to retaliate.

What Mohammed said was right. For shaman tossed in asylums, this might have been somewhat foreign, but the reassurance would help. It was a shame so many ended up this way...

As he expected, he heard her mutter, "That's a first..."

Peyote reached out, patting her head carefully. "Won't be the last, either, chicka. There will be plenty of shaman like you willing to help."

Peyote left it at that as he set back to work, unsure if Mohammed had said anything about a shaman only world.

He put it off, trying to think of something that would help the pain and maybe lull her to sleep would be the best. He wasn't even sure she would manage any sleep in this state, however, even under the influence of powerful herbs.

Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed her slump against Mohammed, curling inward on herself. Most would have been in the fetal position by now. It was going to be a long night for all of them at this rate.

"Try to make sure she doesn't pass out," he informed Mohammed as he quickly set to work, grinding various herbs in a stone bowl, "Rather not see her choke on her own vomit."

Rekka blinked, curious as to what Rapp was thinking as he huffed. She could swear she could hear his mind working a mile a minute before he'd reached out to grab her ears and gave a yank. Surprised, Rekka jerked, only worsening the weird situation.

"H-Hey! Stop that!" she demanded, hands coming up to his to try to tug them away. It was a pretty futile effort.

Rapp looked pretty proud of himself right now, waiting for Rekka to give up and go play or something. Why was he so stubborn about this? It wasn't like what she was doing effected him! Yet here he was, yankin' at her ears and demanding things of her.

She huffed, something she seemed to take to doing a lot lately. "Fine, you win! Just stop pulling on my ears already!" she conceded.

It took a moment for Rapp to really respond to that, blinking at her for a moment before he'd grinned triumphantly. All the while he still had a hold of her ears even if he wasn't tugging at him anymore. His hands were hot under hers. Was it because of the humid weather or was he always like that? Rekka didn't dwell on it for long.

Peyote had beaten him to the punch promising that this was just the first of many occurrences to grow accustomed to. It might be a tad overwhelming at first but Mohammed had hopes that Grace would adapt well enough. That might not happen until after the last of the medicine in her had left her system fully however.

It was only moments before Grace had slumped against Mohammed's side, nearly curling in on herself. Carefully, trying not to jar her around too much, he shifted so that he could keep hold of her shoulders. As Peyote said, having her pass out and possibly vomit was only going to become a bigger problem in the long run.

"I'm on it," Mohammed promised.

From the corner of his eye he glimpsed the things that Peyote tugged from the pouch at his side though didn't pay much mind to them. Grace was his responsibility right now and he'd be damned if he let her die because he'd been distracted. She might be relatively all right now but that could change at any moment.

He moved to rub her back, hoping it helped at least a little. Until Grace spoke up on the matter Mohammed could only do his best.

Rapp refused to let go of her ears, if only to get her to do what he wanted. If she really wanted him to let go, she'd just give up! This kind of work wasn't for her and she didn't have to do it! No one was going to abandon her just because she didn't do a few chores!

So why in the world did she think that? No one had bothered her, at least not that Rapp had noticed. Maybe she really was self conscious about it, just hiding all of it behind a mask.

Eventually, she seemed to think better of it and finally gave up. Rapp grinned proudly at that, finally releasing the hold on her ears. At least he knew now that this was all it took!

"Good!" he said loudly, "Now come on! Let's do something fun before we have to go inside or somethin'! Yer spendin' too much time wastin' the day!"

He grabbed hold of her arm then, practically dragging her away from the spot she'd been working at. Rapp glanced back at her, blinking briefly as he studied her.

"You look really hot," he pointed out, "How 'bout we go swimmin'?"

He figured it would be a good idea for her. The day was a little humid and she'd been out in the sun for a long while. Rapp thought of it as the perfect excuse to go for a swim!

Grace could hear their voices on and off, just enough at times for her to make a comment. While she meant to sound snappish at those points, her tone was far too weak to manage it.

She should have felt uncomfortable when a hand ruffled her hair or how Turbine had started rubbing her back. Hands were not ever so kind to her and yet, this was somehow comforting...

Still, she shrived and shook, despite all they were doing now. It was so hot that she wanted to pry away the poncho but thought better of it. She was aware her vision blurred on occasion, though, she fought to stay awake.

"I swear to god, I am off every kind of drug for life," she managed to say, even though her voice shook.

"Ah, some of them aren't that bad," she heard Peyote comment. The sound of whatever he was scrapping together was grating and made her head pound even more, "Weed has proven to help the nerves, you see."

Grace grumbled something under her breath but left it at that. She didn't care what it was. As long as she could avoid it, she would. After being forced to endure so much, it was nice to have to choice in the matter, after all.

Rapp's grin was far too big and proud for Rekka's liking though he'd at least let go of her ears. Almost immediately she'd reached up to cover them, to avoid him reaching for them again. He didn't look like he was going to but Rekka couldn't be certain. Rapp was a weird dummy, after all.

"You're bossy," she accused simply.

It didn't seem like Rapp heard her, or if he did he ignored it completely. Already, he'd reached out for her arm and began tugging her along after him. He didn't seem to notice that Rekka stumbled at first, his pace quick despite the sticky heat. Wasn't he a little dizzy too? Apparently not...

Rapp was glancing back at her again, his dark eyes catching hers briefly before he spoke up. She didn't answer right away, thinking he was just babbling to himself. Only when he didn't carry on did she realize that wasn't the case.

"O-Oh, uh, that's... that's fine, I guess," she answered finally.

Grace had tensed at first but didn't push his hands away. After several minutes she seemed to relax against the touch, fussing more at the poncho and the makeshift scarf. Clammy as she was it was best she leave them on though she must feel like she was burning up. If she could just sweat it out...

Eventually she'd muttered that she was quite against taking any sort of drugs ever again. That might well work in her favor though some simple remedies would still do her good if she needed them. With the way she'd scoffed and growled just now at the idea, however, it seemed Peyote had his work cut out for him.

"Something tells me she'll pass on that," Mohammed answered lightly, glancing down at Grace.

She certainly didn't seem enthused at the idea, perhaps thinking it might well leave her like this after long. Mohammed didn't think anything was going to sway her mind on that but for possible experience or to see it in others. Until such a time it didn't seem likely that Grace was ever going to budge on this matter. Perhaps it was best that way.

Rapp ignored the comment that she shot at him. Bossy or not, it had gotten her to stop working and do something a little more fun. She needed it and he intended to let her have some fun. Working all day wasn't doing her any good anyways.

If she swayed, he didn't catch it. Maybe she really was really hot and needed to get some shade. Some cold water would do eventually. She would be fine after that.

"Well don't sound so shy about it!" he teased in response, "Unless you're scared a little water!"

There was pretty big pond somewhere around the edge of the city. They could take some time to play there. A lot of kids used it just to cool down when it got too hot.

Leading the way, it didn't take long for him to catch sight of the glistening water. A few people lingered about but otherwise, it seemed somewhat peaceful.

"'Er we are," he commented lightly, "This'll do ya some good, right?"

Turbine was right, she wasn't going to break under any pressure soon. This was enough and it was her choice. That was something completely foreign to her. To have a choice was a wonderful thing.

"Hmm, well that's a bit of a shame!" she heard Peyote speak up again, "Ah, I'm sure you'll live without it. We'll just work you through this problem, chicka."

She shivered, pain running through her body. She tried not to groan despite the this but found herself unable to suppress it. Her whole body was burning, she couldn't stand.

"You sure...cause I'm pretty convinced I'm dying," she shot back.

"I said you'd live, I never said it would be easy," was his quick reply. She wasn't sure if she heard humor in his tone or not. Regardless if that was the case, Grace simply left it be.
