Niles awoke in a cold sweat, shaking his head as he slipped out of his quarters to take a long gander at the moon. One more arrow, one more piercing moment, the call for pain crossing his opponents face – he paused. Ah, the fading of the moon. A shame, but at least he’d soon find himself moving on with the battles. Such people to believe in, in all relative terms. “How silly,” he chuckled.

Welcome to a new day, he supposed. Light step, easy steps - oh, weren't they all as they were? Fun little playful regal people. Lord Leo was the generous one he was grateful enough for (Odin could use some work) but not living in a fickle location was much appreciated.

"Oh, how curious," he said, crossing his arms, leaning back against a wall. "Lord Leo, hear that? Some little fools think sparking a brawl against us is a good thing? Shall I aim for the legs, first?" He gave a small smirk. quick feet soon carrying him out words. There, now, what would the army find themselves accompanying next?

---

Alyna pulled her hood tighter, closer. She never could be sure how people would take her status as a Wolfskin, no matter how trustworthy she seemed. While it wasn’t a rare trait among the various clans, sometimes people just didn’t understand. Still, she can’t help but hold respect for the highest nobles of the lands, being strong in the face of danger.

She presses her tail down and adjusts the buttons on her shirt and cloak. Let these people listen to her please, she needn’t battle again. She’s learned quite a bit, using her words to weasel her way through the flight away from danger.

Sir,” she said, “A moment’s word?" A smile small, friendly, gentle came upon her features, back straight, teal eyes glinting. Silence. She froze, her tail nearly jumping as ears flattened. She made herself small, hearing, feeling, knowing danger was right -- at her feet. "Sir! Be reasonable!" She gasped, jumping backwards, pulling out her bow as she shakily balanced herself. Not a moment of battle she expected, but one she needed to deal with...! This was why it was hard to trust people.

Leo sighed at his retainer. "If you must." He said before looking back out at the battle. He scanned the area curiously as his eyes seemed to calculate a plan. His gaze stopped at a curious sight. "Wait, Niles..." he said watching a battle between two people. One of which he recognized as a hoshidan. The second he had never seen before.

"Niles who is that spilder there?" The young lord nodded his head in the direction. "Ive never seen them before..." Leo kept his gaze on the battle, studying the stranger and trying to decide if she was friend or foe.

Surely she would be there to help if she was fighting a hoshidan. "Niles, you and Odin stay here and watcj for my signal. Ahould i gove the order shoot both of them."

With one tug on the reigns Leo charged for the battle, ready to help the stranger in hopes of adding to their dwendling number of forces.

_________

Ahri's careful eyes also surveyed the battle feild carefully, searching for her target. If she kept to the shadows ahe was sure to take him out quickly and undetected just as she needed to be. She had no place in this battle. She was there for a job and nothing more.

Quietly she knocked her arrow onto her bow, steadying herself to pull back on the rope, breathing in as she did. It was only a matter of time now. Just a bit further and she would have the perfect shot.

She watched and waited, like a cat stalking its prey until something caught her eye. Unable to avoid it she turned her head to see what all the commotion was. She noticed Lord Leo hurrying off to battle amd two men staying behind and watching closely. Quickly her attention was brought back to the hoshidan she was to exicute so swiftly and she cursed under her breath. She had missed the shot due to her cursed curosity. Looking back at the men she took notice of one in particular. White hair and tanned skin he wore an eye patch over his eye. "How curious..." she said watching him from the saftey of the tree line.

[FE Fates] Show'em All Our Might [1-on-1] Empty
PostSubject: Re: [FE Fates] Show'em All Our Might [1-on-1]   [FE Fates] Show'em All Our Might [1-on-1] Icon_minitimeWed Apr 06, 2016 11:00 pm

There was nothing less than an intriguing way of battle, the sounds, the falling, “My lord, I haven’t seen her before either. Interested?” He chuckled, readjusting his stance and awaiting a chance to go on with laying fire upon a distant Hoshidan with impeccable accuracy. Or at the very least, shoot someone. Well, Lord’s orders were so. What power! Niles awaited, awaited any sort of signal, any sort of approaching enemies.

Odin, getting cozy with him isn’t necessary.”

Odin laughed it off. Nothing like a chummy moment in the heat of battle to reflect on. How touching. Entertainment at its finest. At least he got to watch a falling man or two from the distance, though he'd much rather land a hit himself.

His gaze traced upon the horizon, falling upon the slightest movement out of the corner of what he could catch. Sight was his best friend, but he could still make use of it.

"Odin, you're not so bad a shot that you can't handle those by Lord Leo, are you? We have some other waiting company." Time to get friendly, he concluded, moving in a steady crawl, in inches, over toward the staring girl. Leo would definitely understand. It was difficult to trust someone looking so suspicious like that, after all.

 ---

She was agile on her feet; it came with the backstory. She slid hopped, rapid fire aim, a transformation could have been had with the Beastrune in her pocket, but the choice she adamantly decided against. “Peace be with you!” She shouted, steadying and aiming. How she loathed war cries and needless attacking, but it was live-or-die fighting in war-torn nations, so a fatal strike she needed to blow.

Alyna quickly turned around as her arrow pierced the Hoshidan, the assailant tumbling down before her feet, she needed to move before he stood back up, because there was no way he was dead. Let this battle end in a swift and fleeting timing. Let her survive the onslaught.

Her ears twitched, the clatter of a horse’s gallops pounding on the ground. She watched closely, tensing, before she remembered that a loose stance, relaxed and focused, functioned better. The rider’s appearance was noble, powerful, he seemed to command the attention of a soldier or two that happened to be assisting in fighting of the group that attacked her.

She flipped her bow and balanced herself, just barely and narrowly dodging another attack. “Ah, if it’s assistance you are offering; please lend me your aid. It’s quite a pickle we have here.”

Ahri watched the man for a while, studying his ability with his own bow and arrow. She noticed he stopped and turned to look in her direction. Did he see her? Surely not, she was in the shadows and the thick bush surrounded her well enough right? So then why was it he suddenly took an interest in moving to her direction? She was away from the battle...Without hesitation, regardless of the reason the man began inching his way to her, Ahri took the free moment to sink further into the forest. Retreating was her only option, even if the man was a fellow Nohrian.

Ahri didn't get very far before she was ambushed by a group of Hoshidan solders. Reacting quickly she lifted her arrow and lunged it into the throat of one of her attackers, quickly pulling it out and knocking it before taking aim and firing a close up shot at the next one. Throwing her bow to the ground she drew her sword, ready for melee attacks, swinging it defensively.

A sharp pain at her side she instinctively stumbled to the ground before she gained her footing but just as she raised her sword a firm hand gripped her wrist and stopped it from coming down on her target. "Well well boys, look what we've got here..."  The voice said as the Hoshidan pulled back her hood. The man disarmed the sword from her hand and threw it in a spot he knew she wouldn't be able to reach before he pushed her to the ground. "What's a pretty little Nohrian like you doing, so far away from your group?" He asked as she put a hand to her side, refusing to answer him. "Surely there are more of them hiding in this forest, ready to attack." He told the others, ordering them to stay alert.

Ahri tried to stand up and reach for the quiver of arrows on her back but she was stopped as another solder ripped her hand away and tearing the quiver from her back. Her cloak was also stripped along with any extra weapons she was hiding underneath.
"Let go of me!" She said struggling to break free of the man's grip. She searched for a close by weapon but all of them were either thrown away or kept by the solders.

-----

Leo noticed the shot she fired however he took into consideration that it was not a killing blow. The Hoshidan quickly rose to his feet and Leo kicked his horse, ordering it to go faster. Soon enough he was close enough and took his legendary tome to recite one of the basic attacks he'd remembered so easily. The attack hit but it didn't do the amount of damage he was hoping for. "If we don't bring him down we'll be in an even bigger mess..." He said pulling the reigns back as the horse reared up a bit. He noted the woman he was now assisting to be a wolfskin. He'd read about them in his books, but had yet to meet one in person.

"Tell me you have a beaststone." He said noting the small group that was heading for them on horse back. He looked back to find Odin and Niles, narrowing his eyes and gritting his teeth at the sight of Niles going after something or someone in the forest line. That fact could potentially bode ill for the solders of Nohr. "Odin!" Leo called and waved his hand at his second retainer, signaling that he needed his help.

In the mean time Leo turned his attention back to the problem at hand and quickly skimmed through his tome. "If you do you're going to have to use it. If we can force our way through those solders on horse back I'm sure we can at least grant ourselves time to retreat from this battle...Judging by the way Niles is running for that tree line retreat could be the only option we have to survive right now." He said stopping and closing the tome.

Holding his hand out and uttering a command he attacked the solder once again, this time dealing more damage than the last and nocking him off his feet. He looked at the stranger quickly, hoping desperately she could help them escape the battle for the time being. "Help us get out of here, and I'll ensure you have everything you need to get to where you are going." Leo's commanding tone seemed to be a bit too aggressive and if it were up to him, it wouldn't have been a matter of asking. Still, he understood trust was an issue between two strangers and ultimately it was not his decision to make if she would help or not. He tugged on his reigns once more, fighting against his horse to stay in his position, readying himself for the next wave of battle.

[FE Fates] Show'em All Our Might [1-on-1] Empty
PostSubject: Re: [FE Fates] Show'em All Our Might [1-on-1]   [FE Fates] Show'em All Our Might [1-on-1] Icon_minitimeSat Apr 09, 2016 8:48 pm

Perception was an outlaw’s best friend, even if it took a little to work it all out. If he saw company, he had to deal with it, regardless of Nohrian or Hoshidan. One could never be too sure. Suffering would be of the efficient conclusion, information was on the need. It would be fine. Something was certain. If she was an ally, she still needed to be grabbed. Those shadows, why leave her there?

The bustle, ah, how fun. Well, how friendly those Hoshidan soldiers were. Time to thrown them for a loop. Quick movements under cover, get the girl out of the quite tragic situation she had fallen into and then juice. Easy enough, right, right? One silent arrow, lethality was his friend, as it rested itself so nicely in the head of a Hoshidan. ‘Tah-tah,’ Niles thought, changing his position so as to not be so easily traced back.

A struggle, hmm, hmm? Well, can’t say it wasn’t surprising. Maybe kick a few down, but he’d get through regardless. Snipe them off, this was fine. She was a feisty little fighter, though, right? Stood for herself and knew how it break it all down. One more down, let them fall. Quite a ruckus they caused over it too. Pah, getting mad at each other, he threw one of the tossed aside weapon’s at the man who was holding the girl captive, striking his arm and then moved again.

One came from behind him, “Found me, eh?” He laughed. He knew how to deal with common folk like this, they’re weak ways much too easy. Clunky patterns, they breathed easy, and they would fall. Just as the one that came at him did.

A few more, and though he was getting a bit tired, he couldn’t deny his job done.

“Looks like you owe just a little to me,” he said, only half-joking.

---

It was unfortunate that she had trouble landing a decisive blow, but for one still adapting, learning, progressing, she could only do so much. This enemy was quite tough. All she had wanted was to have a nice directional chat, get a few items for her growing oddities collection, but a young Nohrian girl like herself, no matter her looks. “Beaststone?” She repeated, she carefully wrapped her fingers around the Beastrune in her pocket. She did have one on her. Need she use it? Really? So soon after meeting these people, so long since she had transformed and done any sort of battle with it. Her words were her friends, not her strength.

Mmm…” She released, watching as she made sure her bow was secure at her back, with her quiver. “Beaststone I do have, Sir, and it seems the force is needed. A promise you will keep to an extent, I presume.” She said, considering his noble and powerful appearance. A direction to her destination was something she didn’t actually have, a path she still needed to figure out. “Protection, right, sir?” She was wary, she didn’t trust herself for power regulation and she didn’t trust many humans to not attack her kind for her fur. She closed her eyes, took in a deep breath, and faced the bulk of the enemies once more as the spells and shouting of the one called Odin rung clear.

Allowing her hood to drop, she pulls out her Beastrune. “I’m holding you to your word.” She really couldn’t say no to such an authoritive figure. In mere seconds, she repositioned herself and transformed into the wolf-like form. Barrel through!

Pardon me but farewell!”

And she fought, using her wolfskin powers for her fullest. She knew she’d be exhausted afterwards, not having used her powers in a while, but all the same.

PostSubject: Re: [FE Fates] Show'em All Our Might [1-on-1]   [FE Fates] Show'em All Our Might [1-on-1] Icon_minitimeFri Apr 15, 2016 10:41 am

Ahri watched in shock as one of the men went down. An arrow piercing though his head that killed on impact. She struggled with the soldier for a moment, not understanding if the attack was  a rescue attempt or not. Once she was free she scrambled to pick up something - anything she could use as a weapon. Reaching for a small and dull knife one of the lower ranking Hoshidan's carried she held it up, ready to strike if the need came.

Soon things had settled, and she turned to the man that had brought down the soldiers who took her captive. She stood, ready to block and counter any attack he would make, for a long while. Finally she slowly and carefully retrieved her weapons and placed them in their rightful position before turning to the mysterious man.

"It seems that way..." She said, still watching him carefully before she looked back to the battle field. She had missed her target and let him get away. There was no point in chasing after him now. The man was right and unfortunately Ahri couldn't just leave without repaying the man for saving her life. She stopped for a moment to get a good look at the man and blushed as she looked away. "I have payment if that is what you seek, though it isn't much..." She said reaching for a small pouch.

---

Leo nodded his head, showing that he was giving his word she would have the protection she needed. "You have my word." The young prince steadied his horse as he watched the woman take out her beastrune. Even if she had no other choice to obey his word he was still grateful for her help. He watched as she transformed into a new form, half amazed at the sight since he had only read about it in books. It truly was something to behold.

He watched as she barreled through the Hoshidans, sending spells right and left to cover her. "Odin!" He called out to his retainer, pointing in the direction he needed him to focus on so that the wolfskin could pass through. Taking his chance he charged behind the girl, leading the rest of his party onward and making a mental note to do more research on beastrunes later.

He directed his attention to the front of the battlefield. Things were starting to look good for Nohr. Soon they would claim victory and they would be one step closer to ending this war.
