Lydia's gaze lingered on Wheatley for quite some time. Her head dipped in a small nod. She knew she wasn't doing to well. Her stomach was still twisted in knots, worry lingering in her mind. This place had fallen apart and seemed so ill supplied. If someone did get hurt, how would they manage?
She shuffled again, trying to even out her weight at least. These fall boots were hard to get used to. Lydia didn't complain but she didn't quite care for them either. She was finding that she didn't care for quite a few things here.
Lydia rubbed her arm, keeping her hand latched their for a moment. She listened as both Rick and Genesis conversed. She didn't know how either could be so at ease, especially being fully aware of the fact that they could be injured.
She figured Genesis' life would be more at stack the Rick's, after all.
"I'm sorry," she finally muttered. "Trying to convince myself not to worry has never been a strong point."
She thought too much of what was to come. Whether or not anyone would see that as a precaution was up in the air. She always viewed them as such. Others didn't always quite agree.
Rick chuckled, swatting the woman's hand away lightly. He didn't want to hurt her, fully aware that something little to him might be more damaging to her. He was constantly telling himself to be careful around the two women. There was no telling if he'd hurt them by accident or not.
Last thing he wanted was giving a reason to fear him.
"Don't worry about me!" he boosted, puffing out his chest a little as he spoke up. "Nothin' I can't handle! I'll be fine!"
His gaze fell onto the pair they had just met. Things remained awkward for the two, Lydia looking more put off than wanting to simply accept their position. He couldn't find too much reason to blame her but still. He didn't care for such morose expressions.
"Come on now!" he spoke up. "It'll be an adventure! No need for none of that sulking!"
Rick received a scoff in response. He shrugged his shoulders simply. Perhaps when they moved, she would get used to it a little more, lighten her own mood. It was hard to tell. Humans could be very strange in how they acted.
"Welp, not much gettin' done standin' around and talkin'. We'd better get a move on." Rick suggested a few moments after. Reaching out, he ruffled Genesis' hair. "That is, if ya'll can keep up!"
