Benga blinked down at her as she yawned. It seemed she was growing tired though he couldn't blame her. Most nights, they stayed up outdoors just to make sure they would remain safe from Genesis. That didn't mean they could go without sleep for too long a time.

"That sounds like a plan to me," he noted after a moment.

He mulled over what he had drawn before leaving it. Benga had to wonder if she was in any pain that she hadn't told him about. It was clear something had been bothering her with the mention of needing pain killers. He figured it must have been coming on morning soon as it was. When she finished up, they'd head out.

"We'll find the doc whenever you're ready," he responded, watching her attempts to stifle another yawn. "It must be getting close to morning anyways. He should be up."

Benga paused, thinking that he heard someone walking about. That was enough to get him gathering some of the objects up. If someone was up, they'd be caught if they wandered down this hall. He'd rather avoid having to explain.

"Sounds like our time might be up anyways." He jested in a light manner.

Blaire paused, chalk hovering over another store she had hastily been filling in. Had those been footsteps? Benga's warning only confirmed that she hadn't been the only one that had heard them. She was quick to scoop up the paint tubes and the old, battered paint brush. After mulling it over she left he chalk and silly string. The kids could have fun with them when they were up and about.

"Well, then let's go see about that doctor," she answered after she had everything scooped up.

Yet another yawn escaped her, much to her annoyance. She was quick to swipe the tears from the corners of her eyes that it produced. After getting much of the kid's hallways graffiti'd Blaire had felt her eyes growing heavy. She hoped that the doctor would give the okay for her to sleep. Though if he still suspected a concussion she might have to wait several more hours before she could run off for a nap.

It was only when she was up on Benga's back for the umpteenth time that night alone did she speak up again.

"So, any plans after the doc's visit?" she prodded, hoping he had some idea.

She was drawing a blank with the pounding headache and the exhaustion. Yet again she hoped it would be cleared for her to sleep. She'd be far too tired through the day if she wasn't able to that she'd be all but useless.

Benga chuckled a little as she yawned again. It didn't take her long to climb onto his back again. He would move out of the hallway as quickly as he could manage just in case someone was coming by. He didn't want to get caught now and explain what had happened.

At her question, he tilted his head slightly. He had no idea what they would do after the doctor visit. Part of him wanted to bother his grandfather and see if he might ignore the risks toward Lance and that girl. He really wanted to pursued this one, especially with such a strong opponent.

The only reason they hadn't battled then was because of the obvious exhaustion and injuries they endured.

"Not so sure," he finally spoke up after a few moments of silence. He moved down the hallways rather quickly, finding that some had woken up. They eyed them, confused by the contents they still had in hand. "Part of me wants to bother the old man about missions. Other half isn't sure what to do."

He wondered if Blaire would take the time to get some sleep if the doctor allowed it. It was obvious she was tired.

"Maybe if the doctor allows it, we can get some sleep." He noted a moment after. "You look tired enough as is."

It was a light jest. He didn't often see her overly tired but there were times like this that it did happen. Whether she would admit to it or not was an entirely different story. At times, she liked to deny these things despite it being painfully obvious.

It was an easy feat to ignore the occasional curious glance at the items in their possession. No one actively tried to figure out why they had them and neither of them would indulge an answer anyways. Her chin rested on Benga's shoulder as they passed through the halls. It was becoming a little harder to resist closing her eyes and dozing off.

Blaire debated on arguing about being sleepy but it was a moot point at the moment. Even she couldn't deny that sleep would be a good thing.

"A nap would be pretty amazing right now," she mumbled, burying her face in his shoulder for a moment. After a second or two passed she lifted her head again, blearily blinking around.

It drew quiet between them then. Every so often Blaire had to force her eyes back open. With nothing to mess with and preoccupy her mind it was more obvious how exhausted she really was. Blaire hoped yet again that she would be in the clear.

Idly she reached out, toying with Benga's necklace yet again. It wasn't long after that that they were back at the doctor's, Blaire being deposited on the same table as before in the dim lighting. She could hear the doctor rifling through something or other nearby but did not choose to focus on it.

Benga stood by, allowing Blaire to toy with his necklace again. She had quite a habit of doing it but he never minded it. It was something she had done for quite a while. Benga found that he liked these old habits. They reminded him of simpler times.

He could hear the doctor moving about before he caught sight of him. The man looked a little tired but that was a given considering how badly people could be hurt out on the field. Benga spared him a smile.

"We wanted to know if you had any pain killers yet," he began simply. "And if she's allowed to sleep. She's pretty beat."

Looking at her now, he knew she was doing her best not to nod off. It was hard on her at times. She stayed up late most nights, even as a child. There were rare cases when she was this tired but they did arise once in a while. Given the injuries she sustained, he could only assume it could get worse.

"I don't think she'd make it up much longer," he noted. "Even if you told her she couldn't sleep."

Benga spared a grin as she shot him a look. It was a weak one, of course but it was enough to get the point across. She didn't like to be prodded over these things or fussed over. It happened at times and was something she had to live with.

So long as Benga stayed close enough she would continue to play with his necklace of pokeballs to keep her mind occupied for the time being. Footsteps told her that the doctor had come closer, shooing Benga a little to the side so he could observe Blaire. Her hand hung in the air before she allowed it to fall back to her lap.

The doctor's voice was soft, telling her when to hold still or not when he went about checking her pupils and even the sutures under the bandage again.

"I'd rather her not sleep just yet but if she has to you'll have to find an alarm." He stuffed his hands in his pockets, glancing between the two. He would address both but it looked like Benga was the one who was paying more attention at the moment. "Set it to go off every hour. After today she should be able to sleep without interruption."

It was only a precaution, just in case she did have a concussion they could not be aware of. Blaire mumbled something unintelligible under her breath as the doctor indicated to wait a moment. He was gone in the back room, where he kept his store of medications.

Minutes ticked by and Blaire spared a glance up at the clock nearby. It read that it was three in the morning. The doctor returned soon after that, a small pill bottle in hand. Two were already in his hand, both of which he relinquished to Blaire.

"Take two only as needed," he advised. "If that's all that was needed...."

Blaire hummed, mumbling a quick "thanks" to the doctor before he was back to counting out his new inventory stock. Dry swallowing the pills she gestured to Benga that she very much wanted to sleep, all but leaning against him already.

"Benga," she whined quietly, "head injuries suck."

Benga stood by, listening in on the hushed words. It wasn't until they were more directed to him did he fully listen in. If they needed an alarm, he figured they'd find one somewhere in storage. Blaire didn't keep a clock in her room. If it had to come to it, he'd simply give her his for a time.

"Sounds like a plan," was his simple response as he watched her swallow the pills.

He blinked a little at the words before a grin spread across his lips. Reaching out, he ruffled her hair carefully, just in case her head hurt. He didn't want to harm her with such a simple action.

"If that's the case, don't fall on your head again!" He jested lightly.

He chuckled a little as she whined. Blaire had been known for it, whether it was for something serious or not. She simply did it because she could. It was more humorous than anything else. She liked to have a light atmosphere when she could.

Benga didn't wait much longer. After the doctor left, he was quick to get her on his back again and headed out. He figured a quick stop at storage would be needed to deposit the used items before they would head back to her room. It wouldn't take them long and he wanted to look for a clock anyways.

Around them, more early rises were up and about. Once in a while, he'd catch a sly smirk or a chuckle. Whether it was from the act of carrying Blaire around or from the fact that these people knew they'd been the ones painting, it remained to be seen. Benga didn't put much thought into however. He saw very little point in it.

"It's not like I wanted to!" she groaned.

A pout was quick to form on her face even as Benga helped slide her back onto his back. It didn't take her long to bury her face in the crook of his neck, already half-asleep despite trying to stay away a little while longer. It was getting harder to do as the minutes ticked by.

Her face hidden, Blaire missed the looks shot their way though at the time being she would not have spared them much thought as it was. The next thing she was aware of was being set back down in the storage room momentarily to place the borrowed paints and brushes back.

Blaire waited, head nodding forward every so often as Benga took to searching for a discarded alarm clock.

"Might wanna double check batteries, too," Blaire yawned after a moment, rubbing her eyes with the heals of her palm. She tucked her pill bottle in her pocket so she would not place them somewhere and forget.

She waited patiently for Benga to finish up his search. Normally she would join but she didn't want to risk tripping over something with her ankle. Knowing her luck that would be the thing that would happen as well.

Benga watched her from the corner of his eye. She was nodding off. He couldn't say he blamed her. They didn't get much sleep the night before and forced to stay up all night wouldn't be doing her much good either. Benga figured she might have been rather exhausted at this point.

After quite a bit of looking about, he found a small green colored digital clock. The numbers still glowed green, letting him know the batteries weren't dead. After a moment, he took to looking for spare batteries as well.

"I hope this thing will be loud enough to wake you up." He commented a moment after. "Or maybe I should just take the methods you used on me as a kid?"

Benga wasn't sure if she was awake enough to answer him or if she even heard him. She seemed pretty tired and once in a while, he would see her jerk awake as her head fell forward. Finding some batteries, he pocketed them before moving back to her side.

He was careful to get her back onto his back. She was half asleep as it was and he didn't want to hurt her over the simple matter. Benga made his way quickly toward the bed room hall, slipping into her room a few moments afterward. He carefully sat her on the bed, watching as she rubbed her eyes. A moment later, he set the clock for eight thirty. It was hard to believe that so much time had passed simply painting.

"Well, that'll be set." He spoke out loud, setting the clock on the night stand. He lingered there for a moment, watching her. "Do you need me for anything else?" He inquired after.

There was no telling. Benga didn't think he could provide much with her being asleep. It was hard to say however. Blaire could think up some odd requests, if she wanted to.

Blaire grumbled in reply to his question, something unintelligible yet again. Even she would not be able to recall what she had intended to say a moment or two later. She was quiet on the way to her room, face hidden against his shoulder again.

Only when Benga asked her if she needed something did she become wholly aware that they were in her room. She pulled her hands away from her eyes blinking up at Benga. She frowned a little, recalling the fear the previous day when she had seen that Scyther darting towards him.

"Could you stay near?" she mumbled after a moment.

Part of Blaire was still afraid that she would wake up and find out that he really had died, that what she was seeing and doing with Benga now was just a figment of her imagination. In her half-awake state she desperately needed him nearby to reassure her that that wasn't the case at all.

Blaire waited for an answer, blearily blinking up at Benga. She wouldn't push the subject however. If he said no than she would not argue against it.

Benga wasn't sure of how to respond to her. It seemed she wanted him to stay with her. Rubbing the back of his neck, he felt his heart pick up pace a little bit again. It shouldn't have bothered him as much as it did. It wasn't like they hadn't slept close to each other before.

After mulling it over for a little bit, he finally sat down beside her. His cheeks felt warm over the thought but he attempted to dismiss it. If she needed him, he would stick around. That's how it had always been. He wanted it to remain as such.

"I don't see why not," he responded, coughing into his fist nervously. "If you really want me to."

Benga didn't have much planned for that day in a whole anyways. He didn't so much mind sticking around, though his heart beat fast in response to being so close. He tried to quash it. She needed him, it seemed, so he would stay.

Blaire waited, yawning as Benga mulled over his answer. In her half-awake state she wasn't able to properly discern the way he shuffled about and generally looked awkward at the idea of it. She spared him a look when he finally sat near her, the bed shifting under his weight.

She smiled tiredly at him, mumbling a thanks in reply. After a moment of sitting there quietly Blaire finally moved, shifting to the other side of the bed to allow Benga enough room. She had hoarded a few blankets the few times they had been forced to stay in the base for days on end and there would be plenty for both. She didn't fuss with any of them, instead burying her face into the pillow.

"Good night, Benga," she muttered, her voice muffled by the pillow.

While her head still throbbed it was lessening for the time being and it wouldn't be long before she would doze off. Blaire wouldn't recall the way she felt a little better knowing Benga chose to stay next to her through the rest of the night.

After his answer, she was rather quick to lay down. She seemed relieved and Benga was at least glad for that. He didn't want to disappoint her. He had to wonder why she was keeping him so close now. Was it because of that Scyther the day before? The one that had nearly killed him?

He could only assume that might have been the case.

Benga shook his head. Blaire had never been one to linger on these kind of things. It seemed she was rather damaged over it, if not a little bit. Would that prove to be a problem later on? He couldn't deny that he was worried for her as well. Benga knew that the fall she had taken could have easily killed her if it hadn't been for her Pokemon cushioning the fall.

He sighed, laying down with her. Benga didn't bother with the multitude of blankets. He always pushed them off in his sleep anyways. There would be no point unless he was particularly cold. That wasn't something that happened often within the base.

Watching her for a moment, he reached out, running a hand through her hair. His heart pounded in response but he did not stop. Benga found that he rather liked it. He watched as she drifted off, sighing lightly.

"Night," he finally replied though, he wasn't sure if she could even hear it now.

With that, he closed his own eyes, waiting for sleep to take him.

Lance wasn't sure how long it took his mind to drag itself out of sleep, focusing instead on what happened around him. The wind, less forceful now than it had been when he had laid down, and the rain pelting the window pane was the first thing that drew his attention. He reached up to run his hand over his face.

He froze.

He could feel another body pressed against his back, the body heat from it permeating through his shirt. It took him a moment to move, carefully propping himself up on his elbow to glance back at who it was. Before he could even make out Layla's form in the dark he already knew who it was. No one else was in the room, after all.

Seconds ticked by, counted only by the clock on the wall. Layla seemed content enough in her sleep, Weavile in her arms. Lance had to wonder when she had woken up and why. Had she had a nightmare that had woken her? Why had she been intent to come into his bed?

Lance could feel his heart racing in his chest and he huffed, laying back down. He could at least wait until she woke up before he moved further. No need to get up and wake her prematurely.

Layla felt the bed shift, pulling her from her sleep. She couldn't recall what time she'd woken that night or when she drifted off again. She felt warm, warmer than usual. Opening her eyes, she inhaled deeply, trying to rouse herself from what sleep had gripped onto her.

It hadn't been much but some was better than none at all.

She paused, remaining unmoving for a moment. The bed had shifted. Her heart pounded when she realized why. She had crawled into Lance's bed after her nightmare. He must have woken and found her. Why he didn't just wake her up, she couldn't be sure.

Swallowing hard, she glanced over her shoulder. Indeed, the man had settled back down, possibly only to keep her from waking. Still, her heard hammered against her chest. She bit her lip, propping herself up a little. She leaned over him to study his expression.

"I..." She began, her voice a little groggy from sleep. "I don't really have an explanation for this, just so...you know...you're wondering."

In truth, she really hadn't. Layla could only use the nightmare as an excuse in her mind. She couldn't sleep so she found a place she felt comfortable. Why she took so much comfort in Lance, why these night terrors didn't assault her again when she was near him, she couldn't be sure. Layla figured it was simply luck.

Still, a part of her felt bad. Crux settled in her lap, blinking his eyes open. Her cheeks warmed, she tried to shake any thoughts away. It was mostly that she liked being so close to him that she didn't understand. It left her rather unsure as to why he was so different from those she met in the past. She tried to shake it from her mind, hoping that he wasn't angry with her.

Lance remained still, his arms folded over his chest and his eyes closed as Layla stirred. It took a few seconds for her to grasp just where she was and he could sense tension in the air after it happened. It was like a charge in the atmosphere around them. He remained still even then, waiting for her to speak.

"It's fine," he answered.

He found that he was glad that it was still dark out, no light filtering in around the blinds nor the light in the room on to betray his red face. Lance felt that he was one who shouldn't blush as he was. He felt he should be above it.

So why did Layla slipping into his bed like this leave him with his heart racing and his mouth dry?

"It's still early," Lance said after the quiet stretched on. "You might as well relax while you can."

It could be at any given moment when Genesis decided to come calling. No doubt the man in charge of the Pokemon Center these days recognized him and would pass along any message from Genesis if they called for him on any sort of broadcast. It was nothing new anymore. Places like the Pokemon Center were fitted with radios used to call out to any scattered Genesis members when rebels managed to take a building anymore.

He would have to make it a point to get up and call if that was not the case soon.

Layla felt relief wash over her when he didn't seem to express anger or frustration over the matter. She laid back down beside him, pushing her hair out of her face. She couldn't will the blush from her cheeks but her heart eventually calmed. She liked the warmth, being so closesly together though she couldn't be sure why.

"I just...had a nightmare so..." She tried to explain, wondering if it would ease either of their awkwardness. "I'm not sure why I thought it would help to crawl into your bed." She laughed a little a moment later. "It seems to have worked out though."

Nights when nightmares assaulted her, there would normally be more than one. They were the nights she looked at her worst when she woke. Being able to sleep through an entire night without one or more was a blessing in itself.

She took to hugging Crux closer to her, the Pokemon making no complaint as it was for the moment. She tried to watch his express in the dark. He never seemed to flinch, though, part of her wondered if she was hearing his heartbeat loudly or her own.

Layla cleared her throat afterward, it hurting a tad from the drastic change in weather the day before. She wouldn't have minded staying like this for a while longer, close to him. She left this thought to herself however, wondering if she was simply making him feel awkward or not.

Lance let Layla speak uninterrupted. He hadn't been about to ask for an explanation, not at the moment. Part of him was just focused on regaining his composure. When she drew quiet, her answer finished, he raised his hand to dismiss it.

"No harm done," he mentioned, feeling much more confident than he felt.

He didn't quite enjoy the feeling of being so embarrassed, so at a loss for the confidence he normally he felt. It was something that left his head spinning. Lance would have to master this strange, rather dizzying feeling. In his position he couldn't afford to lose his composure so easily.

Lance could hear the rain slowing further in the time that passed in silence. He grew grateful for that alone. If they did have to travel out in this weather it would be best if it had stopped altogether. For that he could hope for.

"In awhile I will have to make a call," he noted.

He figured he didn't have to elaborate on that. They would be seeking him out if he didn't soon anyways. He was still a little surprised Genesis was hounding him now.

Layla let herself smile as he seemed to dismiss the situation again. She wasn't sure why she felt so nervous if he spoke otherwise. Was it some form of rejection she was fearing? Layla wasn't quite sure on either account. Why she felt so close to him in the first place, she desperately wanted to know.

She sobered a little after her made mention of making a call. Genesis was probably looking for him, after yesterdays fiasco. She drew her legs a little closer to herself, curling into a bit of a ball. Layla didn't care to think about it.

"We'll have to go back then." She muttered after a moment.

She didn't care for those strongholds, big or small. She felt trapped there. The members of Genesis always seemed to take advantage of any situation given. Even if she was looked after, it didn't guarantee her safety. She put her trust in Lance. She still didn't want to head back to any strong hold anytime soon.

Layla reached out carefully, her fingers tangling into his shirt. She felt fear course through her suddenly. As irrational as it might have been.

"You won't...pass me off to another, right?" She inquired, watching his expression in the darkness. "You have to promise me you won't."

Layla wasn't sure why this fear suddenly coursed through her or why she had to hear him say that he wouldn't. Perhaps there was still a part of her that didn't entirely trust his intentions, even if he had been kind to her. She wasn't sure. She simply couldn't bare the thought of being thrown to another of Genesis, where abuse could easily arise again.

Lance lifted his head, glancing at her. She seemed highly attached to him now. No doubt those instances of kindness had warmed her to him even if she wasn't entirely aware of that fact. He was quiet for a moment, observing what he could of her.

"I had promised to make sure you are cared for while you are my ally, hadn't I?" he reminded her, a brow raising. "I would like to think that something like that would be detrimental to that initial promise."

With that said he laid his head back down on the pillow. Behind the blinds it must have been growing lighter out. The room itself was beginning to grow less dark, shadows becoming less and less pronounced as seconds ticked by.

With a sigh Lance realized he would have to be up and moving soon. Layla could afford to laze about a little longer but he would need to make that call before someone higher up was on his tail for waiting too long to do so.

"Contrary to popular belief," Lance noted after a short while, "I am not always located in a Genesis base."

In fact he was usually out and about, gauging trainers who still decided to take the League Challenge under Genesis' new and rather misogynistic laws in place. It was rather key to his plan in the end, after all. He couldn't very well go out and gather all the Kanto gym badges himself, after all. Genesis would end up questioning him and his motives.

Relief flooded over her and her grip lessened by the words. She was glad to hear them. She didn't want to think of him as so kind but find out later her trust had been betrayed. It was something she hadn't given out quite easily before Genesis. Now, it was harder to deal with.

Still, they were the words she wanted to hear.

His next words only furthered her relief. If he didn't stay within the strongholds regularly, then she wouldn't have to see one for a while. Layla was thankful to know that. Out and about, even if it was colder, she felt less confined and free.

Feeling a little bolder, she pressed herself closer to him, in a half hug. Though she could feel his heart pounding, much less her own, she ignored it for a time. She liked the feeling, the warmth spreading through her over the contact.

"Thank you," She finally muttered again.

She wasn't sure if there would be enough times she could thank him. Perhaps he would grow annoyed over it. Layla figured it was better then apologizing all of the time. That act, he would brush off or grow annoyed with rather quickly.

Layla lingered for as long as he would allow. Her ribs had complained slightly with the movement and she would have to take the pain pills again soon. She left it be, however, enjoying the warmth between them.

As Layla pressed further against him, in more of an embrace - though not quite - than anything Lance tensed. His heart beat loudly in his ears and his breath seemed caught in his throat for a long moment. He remained very still, unsure of what to do.

He did his best to calm himself, trying to steady his heart again. Part of his mind raced, inching steadily towards what amounted to panic in Lance's demeanor. He was not accustomed to growing close to people, only Pokemon. How was he supposed to deal with something like this?

Lance found he didn't know.

Seconds ticked on by, blending in minutes. The deep shadows that had accompanied them in the room had all but disappeared to shades of gray. Morning light filtered as best it could past the blinds though it was dulled by whatever steady cloud cover blocked the direct sunlight. Layla remained hugging him, even now. She seemed inclined to continue doing so until he got up.

Carefully he reached out, patting her side carefully. He wasn't sure if her pain killers had worn off yet or not and did not wish to induce any pain unwillingly. As he did this he stood, his hand inadvertently lingering there. At least Lance told himself that it was inadvertent.

"I should make that call before they come down on me," he mumbled, his heart still racing.

As he stood, taking his time to tug on his boots and jacket he willed his face to cool. He didn't much want to look at Layla with the telltale heat he could feel from his face.

"Perhaps you could find a shower while I'm busy with that errand. It might be awhile."

Some of Genesis' higher ups could be long-winded and with Layla not needing to hear that call it might be for the best if she got started on her day while he dealt with it.

Layla was rather surprised. In fact, she had never met someone more awkward with affection than she had been. Lance, she found, was a tad emotionally crippled to another's feelings but he seemed completely at a loss when it came to any form of affection.

Was he trying to rationalize or fight off feelings that he didn't understand? Layla couldn't be sure.

As he got up, Layla slowly pushed herself up, testing how long her ribs would allow before screaming in pain again. She clenched her jaw as the pain settled in, wanting her to stop moving all together. She couldn't have that. She'd take the pain killers before finding a shower, hoping that might help.

Layla watched him for a moment afterward, however, catching the red that tinted his cheeks. She couldn't help but smile a little bit at that fact. He really was rather awkward, though she didn't know if that was a good or a bad thing.

"I'll do that," She noted a moment after. "I might have to wait a bit after I take the pain killers though."

Layla didn't want to let him know how much pain had settled in. From what she could tell, it was an easy guess. Bruised bones, from what the doctor had said, took months to heal and would complain even after a great deal of time. The damage she received from the two the other night could have easily furthered that.

"Hopefully, I'll be here before you get back." She plowed on.

She knew he grew concerned over her safety. He wouldn't have insisted she be taken care of or guarded. He wouldn't have found her as quickly, if at all, when the rebel had taken her. As such, didn't want to worry him further than she needed to.

Standing he straightened his jacket out, making sure it laid right and brushing off any stray dirt or hair that had settled on it. He spared Layla a glance before reaching into his pocket and producing the Dragonair's pokeball. It was the one that had grown rather fond of Layla. He tossed her the pokeball after a moment of thought.

"I can't be sure how long it might take," he answered. "Just in case."

With that he slipped his cape on over his shoulders, easily clasping it into place. Lance rolled his shoulders then, stretching out his muscles. After a moment of stretching out a little he spun on his heel and headed for the door, letting himself out. Part of him did this to make sure he was no longer red in the face before he would turn.

The last thing he needed was someone out in the center's lounge to wonder what had him so embarrassed.

"You'll know where to find me," Lance said simply as he closed the door after himself.

His steps were swift, as they always were and in only a few moments he had located the phones. No doubt he would not be able to see the other party on the video. Genesis' higher-ups liked to keep themselves in the dark to the public eye. Many of the lower members did not even know who pulled the strings.

Even Lance was uncertain as to who was the boss.

After a few moments of waiting, the phone to his ear and his finger tapping impatiently on the table before him, a voice greeted him. It was a no-nonsense sort of voice and for that Lance was a little happier about. Maybe he would not be held up by someone who was long-winded this time around.

Layla caught the Pokemon, attempting to be careful with her movements. Pain still shot through her despite this fact though, she tried not to make it too notable on her features. She watched him for a moment longer before he left. Only then did Layla get up as carefully as she could manage and move to the coat he had purchased for her not so long ago.

Reaching for the pills, she was quick to take the amount needed before settling back down again. She let Dragonair out, settling herself on the bed before reaching out and stroking her scales. Crux settled into her lap again, watching her in a huffy manner.

"What?" She inquired, smiling down at the Pokemon. "Not jealous, are you?"

The Pokemon turned his head, crossing his arms. Layla had to resist laughing at the poor things expense. It seemed he wasn't too keen on letting her show affection toward anyone else. It might have been the fact that Lance had affiliated himself with Genesis, despite admitting to her that his intentions were not for their gain.

"You're trainer is very awkward," She noted toward the Dragonair. "It's actually quite strange, finding someone who's more awkward than myself."

Still, Layla took some form of amusement out of it. While she liked being close to Lance, she would try to be careful with him if only to keep him from becoming so awkward again. The warm feeling in her chest grew with that contact however and she liked it.

"I think I've a little crush on him." She stated out loud, only earning a huff from Crux once again.
