Celine was quiet for a long time, leaving Rekka to wonder. The silence between friends was broken by the sounds of conversation around them, most of the words lost upon Rekka's comprehension. It didn't matter too much anyways, even if they sometimes might be about the weird girl in ill-fitting clothes.

Rekka spared only a brief glance to Celine upon her answer. It wasn't shocking that Celine looked and sounded lost right now. She'd never really known what to do in life, going along with what was available at the moment while Rekka chased half-formed dreams and ended up failing more oft than not at them. It usually led to several months of stress while Rekka was left scrambling for a new job. Ah, but that was in the past now, wasn't it?

"We'll figure it out." If this did work out, well, Rekka would fight for Celine tooth and nail. They'd been through too damn much together to just let her fall through the cracks if this all worked out in Rekka's favor after all.

Nonetheless, it seemed Celine wasn't fond of that topic, allowing it to drop. If that was the case, who was Rekka to force it? It'd just cause problems.

She scoffed in good humor. That was certainly true enough and in Rekka's favor. Celine had been way into trying to do that, probably just to annoy Rekka. The last thing she needed was to deal with a strange green-haired dude who looked way older than he actually was though.

"I'm too small now. Haha! Never thought that'd work in my favor," she pointed out. All the same she wondered how long they'd be waiting here like this, out in the heat.

Reks caught onto the dropped topic rather quickly. What she said beforehand though, Celine knew that Reks would do anything in her power. That's just the kind of woman she was, well, girl now really.

It was nice to let herself chuckle a little though. Reks was obviously relieved about that. She didn't have to hear Celine pick at her all the time now, especially now that this man was real.

That was when she realized something else. Celine laughed a tad, shaking her head. Why hadn't she seen that earlier?

"You know, looking at you two...you look about Hao's age," she pointed out, "Ironic, isn't it?"

Were these demons toying with them? Celine didn't know. Maybe that was the case, if they had been following them for a while. Celine figured that that was the case...

"I wonder how things are going to work out," she finally said, "This is going to be really weird..."

In her pockets a familiar little keychain made of yarn and felt had met her fingers minutes ago and Rekka had taken to toying with it. The bell upon its little head remained silent, too small to be very loud and muffled by the pocket anyways. She wasn't sure why she had it on her, she didn't remember shoving it in her pocket, but she didn't dwell on it much. For all she knew she'd put it there while straightening up the table it had been on before this mess had started.

She blinked, draw from her thoughts at Celine's chuckle. Well, at least the odd topic was serving as a distraction from everything. At the observation Rekka peered down at herself, a hand removed from her pocket to rest against her chest as if that somehow helped to confirm what she saw all the more. Damn but was it going to suck growing up all over again...

"Huh... I guess, I am," she noted lightly. Was that a good thing or not though? If nothing else she supposed it was best to learn early, despite the fact that she was far more developed mentally than her body was now. Would that help her or hinder her? Rekka supposed she'd find out.

Her hand found its way to her pocket again, keychain still twisted and turned this way and that by the other, hidden away from sight. It gave her something to do as they waited at least.

"Maybe, but at least it'll be interesting."

Celine shook her head. It was really hard to say if it was a good thing or not. Really, she just found the entire thing to be ironic. It was almost like these demons knew what to do.

"I feel like whatever this thing is, it's messing with us," she finally admitted.

That seemed around right. They always wished for better lives, something exciting, something to do. Lord behold suddenly they're here. It had to be a pattern. Celine didn't believe it to be anything less.

It seemed their conversation was not so guarded. Hao's voice rang out again, startling Celine, "That's not far from the truth. Demons do such things."

She blinked, glancing down at the boy. He seemed calm and collected as ever. Trailing behind him was Peyote, the man appearing aloof to the situation. Maybe it was simply because he wanted to keep some peace here.

"Are you two ready, then?" Hao inquired, "We can start moving out of this place now, if you are."

Rekka grunted her agreement. Demons weren't exactly fabled for being kindly after all. Even if they meant only to play of course they'd mess with the people they'd involved somehow. Still, looked like Rekka got the short end of the stick on that. No doubt it was best that way, Celine might have had a panic attack if she'd been the one to wake up to being five-years-old again.

Hao's voice called out to them, the only one speaking English in a sea of voices it seemed. Rekka blinked, moving to peer around Celine to meet his gaze. He seemed entirely sure of what he said and why wouldn't he be? He'd lived two lives before now after all. If anyone were to know a thing about demons she'd bet her money that it was him.

She hardly paid any mind to Peyote, who merely looked bored. Instead she tugged at the collar of her jacket. The thing might as well have been a shoddy dress for all the good it was as a jacket on her frame now. "Wait, what about getting me something fitting to wear?"

It might be a minor point to Hao, Celine and now even Peyote if a point at all but it would be a hell of a lot better for Rekka once she had a change of clothing. Even a simple dress would suffice! Was that too much to ask? Sheesh...

Celine glanced at Reks. That did need to be taken care of. She shrugged her shoulders. There had to be something around here that Reks could wear. Peyote might know a place.

"The sooner that's done, the sooner we can get moving, I guess," she finally said, "Do you...know of any place we might find something?"

For a moment, Peyote only blinked at her. She didn't know what to expect. For the most part, she only knew of the Peyote who was somewhat calm but sensitive in some regards.

"There might be something around. What that' kid doing in clothes that don't fit anyways? She yours?"

Celine felt her face flush with embarrassment. Was that really the first conclusion he came to? She shook her head quickly in response. Celine never really thought about that...

"N-No!" she shouted in response, "She's my sister!"

At least that way, she wasn't lying...

Peyote shrugged his shoulders again. Maybe he would dismiss it, maybe he didn't believe her. Celine didn't care either way.

"We'll find a shop and head out. Let's make it quick, though."

"Haha, eager, aren't we?" Hao said, trailing after Peyote.

Celine shook her head, following after. At least now, Reks could have something that might fit her...That would leave her comfortable for the trip.

It took a moment for Peyote to answer. He would know, given this was the place he presumably lived in. All the same, he took his time observing Rekka before he made any kind of comment. Rekka only huffed, a little put off by the kid comment. Of course she looked like one but she wasn't mentally at all. 'Talk about insult to injury.'

"It's a long story," Rekka muttered, her response lost beneath Celine's shock. Of course Celine would be embarrassed by Peyote's assumption. Did Rekka look enough like Celine that he could easily come to that conclusion? Huh...

Quick; Rekka didn't mind that sentiment. The sooner she was in something that fit the better, everything else could be worried about later. As such she trailed after alongside Hao, Peyote taking the lead. Celine didn't wait long to follow suit, perhaps eager to get something settled and planned out. The more Celine had that was stable the best for her, after all.

"I can handle quick," Rekka promised easily along the way.

The walk seemed short to Celine though, maybe that was because Peyote knew where he was going. The shop wasn't much of anything but at least it had clothing. Reks was able to take the time to find something to wear.

What surprised her in the end was when they had to pay, Hao wouldn't allow it. While this wasn't a surprise to Celine, watching him work so easily, glaring right at the clerk like it was nothing was somewhat amazing but...terrifying as well.

It was no wonder the clerk wanted them to leave immediately rather than just having them pay. Celine cleared her throat as they started off again. There didn't seem like there was a whole lot to say at this point.

Hao lead them outside of the small town again. It was here that he called upon the spirit of fire. Celine was surprised to even be able to see it...

"See, we've a lot of potential here," Hao commented lightly, "We'll be heading to Japan, if you've all made your decision. I can leave you here, however, if you prefer."

Celine glanced down at Reks. She would be going. She'd follow Reks wherever she want. So finally, she shrugged and trailed after her friend, wondering just how all of this would work out.

Peyote had expertly led them to a little shop with a small selection of clothing. While it wasn't exactly her style Rekka wasn't gonna complain, anything was better than what she was wearing now. As such it hadn't taken long to pick out a simple little summer dress of sorts, able to shimmy her way into it beneath the oversized jacket.

It wasn't until Hao had simply refused for payment to be given to the clerk, glaring darkly at the man that Rekka had paused. Her fingers hovered over the strap of her dress where she had taken to clipping the keychain from before at. It was one thing when it was an image on a page but to see that look, that power in action... it sent shivers down Rekka's spine.

After that it was quiet as Hao led them away, the clerk more than happy to see them go after that. With each step towards the wilderness, out of the town itself even, the thump of the keychain against her chest became a familiar weight. It was the one thing she'd had in her pockets, might as well keep it she'd figured.

Any thoughts she'd dwelled upon were gone the moment the towering Spirit of Fire was summoned. Rekka blinked up at it in awe, mouth agape slightly. It was a hell of a thing! All crimson and imposing, standing like that as if it owned the very desert they occupied. Even as she gaped up at Spirit of Fire she heard Hao's comments.

'I can see him though,' Rekka marveled. She'd been half-afraid she'd not have the skill to much less the mana. Now the question was how far could that take her?

"Yeah, like hell I'm sitting around and doing nothing!" Rekka proclaimed, trotting towards the Spirit of Fire immediately afterwards.

As expected, Reks was more than pleased to be moving and starting something like an 'adventure'. Celine was more nervous but she'd follow Reks just to make sure she was safe.

She told herself again and again things would be alright. They just had to take a chance. Maybe some good would come of it, maybe things would change.

Celine sighed as they took to the Spirit of Fire. The travel was killer on her. She hated heights in the first place. Motion sickness settled in after and made her feel worse. She was more than pleased to set foot in Japan, even if she knew very little about it.

"I think I'm gonna puke," she muttered, keeling over a little.

"Sit down or something, kid," Peyote called out, a lax tone to his voice as he glanced around. If he was unimpressed, he didn't say it now.

"Are you alright, Reks?" Celine asked, taking a seat right where she had stood, "You look like you were having fun..."

"If you three would like to get adjusted," Hao brought up in between Reks reply, "There's another I need to grab. I'll be back in a few days. Get along now, that'd be for the best."

The flight to Japan was a long one though the view was stunning from so high up, the wind throwing everyone's hair back and tugging at clothing. Rekka didn't mind the chill that settled into her hands and her toes along the way as she peered over the Spirit of Fire eagerly, taking it all in while she good. Rolling green fields, sparkling oceans--it didn't matter which it was but they were quite beautiful sights all the same.

It was a shame when the Spirit of Fire finally landed near a river that wove its way through Japan. Rekka couldn't pretend to know where in Japan they were though it didn't seem to matter. The place was isolated and the air was clean. With bare feet upon the earth once more she finally turned to blink at Celine, still smiling quite broadly.

"Ah? Damn straight! That was way cooler than the time I flew to South Carolina!" Rekka exclaimed, moving to pat Celine's head as she sat down. It might have seemed mocking to some but Rekka knew Celine wouldn't grow offended by it. "Juuuust breath, chickita."

The advise might have been taken or not, Rekka couldn't tell before Hao had spoken up about leaving to find another. Rekka paused, a brief thing really, before she heaved a sigh. Here she'd been hoping she might learn a thing or two about being a shaman or about this whole dying and revival possibility... Looks like that'd all have to wait.

"If you say so. I make no promises though."

Celine had merely grunted in response. Her stomach had flip flopped quite a bit. She hated that queasy feeling. At least Reks had fun, watching the world below fly by. Hao had seemed amused by that.

Hao had taken his leave once again, leaving them all to spread out and meet the few within the came. The Boz brothers were amount these people and while annoying, Celine tried to remain patient with them.

For the most part, the days were quiet, peaceful. Training was little but perhaps that was because they were waiting on Hao. Celine figured it was Mohammed who would be brought next, if she remembered from the story.

She shook the thought out of her head. For the moment, all they could do was wait. Still...There were some disturbing things happening.

Celine glanced at Reks, wondering if she had experienced the same. Celine's dreams had been dark, terrifying. A few times, she'd woken up in the middle of the night nearly crying. Her chest had felt so tight...

"He Reks..." she called out quietly, "Have you been...haven't nightmares lately? I have...but I don't know why. Maybe it's the demon..."

Living out by that little river for those few days that Hao was gone was a strange transition to get used to. So used to the comforts of a home where a furnace might run and there was running water and the like, it took Rekka some time to adjust to the camping style of the small but growing group. Nonetheless Rekka didn't mind it, unlike those times she'd gone camping with family when she was young. Was it because of the people, or something else? That was an answer that eluded her entirely.

For the most part, Rekka kept to herself except to ask about another's spirit or what they were up to. The Boz brothers she kept clear of, however, finding them rather infuriating. She'd rather not pick a fight with any of these people without knowing how to defend herself against another shaman after all.

That day, however, Celine had wandered up to Rekka, looking more tired than usual. She hadn't needed to ask what was wrong before Celine let it be known. Nightmares though?

Rekka's brow furrowed and she shook her head. "No, I've been fine, more or less."

She tapped a finger to her chin in thought then. The demons hadn't quite made themselves known since starting this entire ordeal though Rekka was sure she'd spotting something here and there over the past few days. Usually it was when her frustrations grew closer to her temper snapping. A little figure, red in color though that was all Rekka could ever glimpse before it was gone again.

"I'm sure the stress isn't helping either though," she pointed out instead of admitting to her own odd occurrences the last few days.

Reks didn't seem to be having the nightmares so why was Celine? It wasn't often she got them. Honestly, the only time she did was when she stressed. It very much seemed that was the case again. The stress must have been getting to her...

Still, it was troubling. Why was it happening? Was it because of this demon that had yet to show itself? Of all the items she had, there was only that small voodoo doll. She had recalled things taking control of those things. Reks had one too...Maybe that's where it was.

Celine shook her head again. There had to be some kind of answer to this. It would just take some time to figure it out. It couldn't be that hard, right?

"You could be right..." she finally answered, shifting slightly. She wrapped her hand around the doll, glancing down at it, "My sleep paralysis has gotten bad again too. It's been getting harder to wake up."

That was her biggest concern. She was able to normally wake herself up but lately, she didn't have the power to. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't do it. What was worse was the sensations she felt during that entire time.

"Umm...Maybe it is the demon," she finally said, glancing up again, "I remember them saying that spirits can cause sleep paralysis though..."

Rekka let her hand fall back to her side, still wearing that summer dress from Mexico. What else could she wear after all? Ah, but it was still better than something that fit so badly and it was nice weather around here for the time being. Briefly she fussed with the folds of the dress as Celine bounced between the possibilities. It seemed like she had no idea what to believe at all.

Only when Celine had trailed off would Rekka speak up. There wasn't much point in interrupting her if she wasn't finished yet after all. Rekka wasn't so gung-ho about a topic or something to do to unintentionally interrupt Celine this time. A common occurrence though one Rekka didn't mean and felt bad for when it happened.

"Maybe, it's hard to say since this is pretty new, y'know? To be honest, the only thing I got is that the little voodoo keychains have something to do with the demons. Pretty obvious guess as to why, I'm sure," she admitted.

Of the things they each had on their person that was the only common item, keychains often left within their home as cute decorations. In fear of losing them both girls had left them there and had no reason to take them outside of the apartment they shared... Still, why the voodoo keychains? They were just cute little keepsakes for people to buy.

Rekka shook her head. Whatever the reason she supposed it didn't matter. They'd find out in time if it was important. Besides, Rekka had more important things to worry about, like when she could really get into training and meeting new spirits and learning new things. The more she thought about dying and reviving in Hao's absence as well the more confident she became about going through with that option as well. These were thoughts and decisions kept to herself however.

Reks had noticed the doll easily. It was good to know that Celine wasn't the only one who came to this conclusion. It had to be the dolls. How or why, Celine didn't know. She just left it as is for the time being. The mummy doll had never been anything more than a slight comfort and a decoration. Now? She couldn't say.

"Well, that's true enough," she finally replied, "I don't know. I just haven't been functioning well without sleep."

It was honestly amazing that she hadn't had an attack yet. She knew if the pressure kept coming on though, it would happen. She broke easily under enough stress, as much as she hated to admit it.

"I thought that was the case too," she finally said, "The question is they 'why'. It's so odd."

In the very least, Reks seemed to be happy, if a little anxious to get started. Celine might not be the most confident with the situation but at least Reks was alright. That's what was important here.

Celine glanced at the sky, blinking. She squinted for a moment before she noticed the Spirit of Fire starting to descend. So Hao had finally returned. She wondered how all of this would end up going.

"Well, it looks like you won't have to wait anymore," Celine brought up, "He's coming back."

For the most part it seemed they were both on the same page with their conclusions. It really was the only thing they had to go off of that made any sense. The only thing now was to see if they were right or not.

"Well, if that demon of yours doesn't let you sleep soon I'll crush it," she promised simply. Never mind the fact that she didn't know what it looked like nor how powerful a demon it really was. It had been said so Rekka would honor that promise if need be.

Rekka blinked as Celine's attention diverted up above. It only took a second before Rekka turned to follow her gaze, catching sight of the Spirit of Fire approaching, already descending as it did so. Rekka couldn't help it, a smile lit up her face, a little eager now.

Would she learn anything? Or was she gonna be assigned to some other shaman for training. Rekka didn't know but it didn't damper the eagerness. The sooner she started the better, the less antsy she would be over all.

"Awesome!"

Celine offered a chuckle at her friends banter, if only to make her feel a little better about the lack of response. Truthfully, Celine wondered if it was even going to be that easy. Taking control of demons was very difficult within the series, if she recalled. She wondered if she could even manage it.

The thought was there and gone as Reks started toward the area the Spirit of Fire would land. She seemed gun-ho about all of this. Celine still had her doubts, but she kept them quiet.

Gazing up at the large spirit, it didn't surprise her to see Mohammed descending from it. Hao followed, still appearing pleasant as ever. He must have seen Reks own eagerness as he laughed lightly when she approached.

"You look like you've been bored," he commented, "Don't worry, I'll be staying around for a little while longer, this time."

So his intentions were to stick around? She wondered if he was going to wait a year or two before setting out to find more of his team. Either way, it didn't really matter. Celine assumed training would probably be a thing at this point.

At the moment, she wasn't even up for the thought of doing things like that.

From the Spirit of Fire she saw the unmistakable form of Mohammed descending far more carefully than Hao had. But of course that would be the case, he hadn't the experience doing as such that Hao would have by now in this third life. But that wasn't important right now. Maybe Rekka would be able to start on something!

"Well, yeah, no one here wants to train some 'kid,'" Rekka pointed out. She hardly did much to hide the contempt in her tone, there was no reason to with Hao's abilities. Why he hadn't pulled her and Celine aside to talk about it was bewildering however, or perhaps he was waiting for Rekka or Celine to bring it up to him first.

From behind Hao Mohammed approached, a curious look upon his face. Maybe he hadn't expected another 'kid' shaman around. Rekka ignored it for now, instead reaching up to pat Celine's arm. A distraction for her, that would help, maybe even only a little bit but that was more than enough. Rekka knew she was quite fond of Mohammed and maybe getting to know him might alleviate some of her stress.

"Hey, sissy!" Rekka began once Mohammed was in earshot. If Peyote had thought Rekka was Celine's kid then it'd be best to nix that assumption now for Mohammed. Having a kid could hurt a girl's chances sometimes after all. "Isn't he just your type? You should so go say hello!"

'Okay, maybe a little blunt force trauma but fuck it, it works,' Rekka reflected. Despite that she continued to beam up at Celine, perhaps a little expectantly.

No surprises were had to know that Mohammed had heard Rekka. In fact, she'd spoken so that he could overhear if only to make sure someone took the initiative. Celine could be so shy and awkward sometimes. A little push never hurt!

"Is that so?"

Celine wasn't surprised that Reks was a little sore on the lack of starting training. Maybe Hao left them to sort out their thoughts for a few days or maybe he was waiting on things to get worse. Either could have been possible for him.

"That will be fixed in due time, I assure you," Hao had replied.

For the most part, Celine listened but didn't contribute. She glanced down at the doll again, wondering just what it was trying to achieve. What was it trying to do making her have nightmares and nearly setting her into panic most nights?

So lost in her momentary thoughts, she almost didn't catch what Reks said. She glanced up, a confused expression marring her features before she blinked once or twice.

"What?" she finally asked, waiting on whatever she had missed.

It took a moment for her to let it sink in one what was being hinted out. Celine cleared her throat awkwardly, feeling her cheeks warm. It shouldn't have surprised her that Reks would do this. All things considered, Celine knew that her reaction wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. She blamed the lack of sleep for that.

"H-hello," she finally said, sparing a short glance at Mohammed. It was only a brief thing before she looked elsewhere, her heart slamming against her rib cage in response.

She heard Hao chuckle pleasantly before she spoke up once again, "Well, as long as we all get along here, I don't see anything wrong with such things. Perhaps the little one only wants you to be happy."

It was a little funny to see Celine realize what she'd said. Despite the fact that a conversation was going on right in front of her it was clear that Celine hadn't been paying attention. Maybe she'd been lost in thought about the demons again, staring down at the voodoo keychain like she had been.

Mohammed spared a nod to Celine and a slight smile. It lingered only a moment before it faded. "Hello to you as well."

Rekka's good mood deflated a little the moment that Hao spoke up, referring to her as 'the little one.' A sigh escaped her, hands falling to her hips. The last thing she needed was for that nickname to start sticking.

"You know, it'd be fantastic if no one called me that again," she pointed out.

"I am Mohammed," the man continued, as if Rekka and Hao hadn't quite spoken. Or maybe he was attempting to ease Celine's worries. Wasn't he the guy who fought for the weak and all? Maybe he felt the need to keep Celine's mind off her obvious worries or something. "You are...?"

If anything, he wasn't deterred by her soft spoken words. Truthfully, she might have been a little more enthusiastic if it wasn't for everything that was happening. Reks obviously wanted that for Celine.

She heard Hao laugh again when Reks spoke. For the most part, they seemed engrossed in their own conversation now. Mohammed's focus was on her. It made her a little nervous, if she had to admit.

Celine tried to steady herself. She felt dizzy enough with the lack of sleep. The blood having rushed to her face just made it worse. Still, she glanced back if a little bashfully at first.

"Celine," she finally introduced softly, "It's nice to meet you, Mohammed."

She clutched onto the doll again, glancing at it. Briefly, she entertained the idea of throwing it away before she glanced up at Mohammed again.

"You're a...shaman too?" she finally asked, if only to keep conversation moving.

Hao chuckled pleasantly. Things were falling into place, if not with a little surprise here and there. He hadn't expected to see these two woman, one specifically trapped inside that of a child's body.

They were interesting, with interesting thoughts and history. To know they harbored demons as well, that would make them powerful allies in the future. It didn't matter if one was apprehensive or not.

"But it's true, isn't it?" he teased lightly in response, "Look, you're shorter than I am."

Ruffling her feathers a little would do no harm. Honestly, she probably needed it just to calm down and wait on a day they could train. Hao wasn't quite ready to toss one or the other to death just yet. No, he wanted to see how far these demons got.

"How has it been these passed few days?" he finally asked then, "Has anything odd happened whilst I was gone, hmm? Have you seen your demons?"

She was a quiet thing, timid even. This woman might have her troubles on her mind though Mohammed could not say for sure. It very well could be that it was something else entirely. The strange boy, Hao Asakura, had quickly grown engaged in a conversation of his own with what appeared to be this woman's little sister. As such Mohammed took it upon himself to speak further with this Celine.

He spared a small nod and answered with "And you as well" before silence greeted them. He could hear the other shamans nearby and Hao and Celine's sister speaking though he hardly paid them any mind. For now they weren't entirely important.

Upon Celine's question he nodded. That much should have been obvious even if Djinn was currently resting within his lamp. The things that Hao had shared with him, well... it was clear that Hao had no need for regular humans at his side in the becoming years.

"I am, hailing from the Middle East." It was a vague answer but he felt no need to elaborate further. He'd been a hired gun, a firearm in his hands since he was young. Perhaps in time Celine, and others, might learn more.

Hao was clearly trying to rile her up a little. There was no way he was taller than her right now! If anything they were roughly the same height, or so she thought.

"You can say that again in a few years when you actually are taller," she huffed, holding her hands up in a mock shrug.

The topic didn't seem to stick however, Hao's attention turning to other matters. It didn't surprise her though, given how different demons were from spirits in this place. If she or Celine, or even the both of them, were able to get a handle on these demons and work with them they might well be valuable to Hao's plans. Rekka wasn't sure how but it wouldn't surprise her if that's what he was hoping for.

He certainly was asking for quite a bit. Perhaps he wanted to know a little of each thing he asked. For a moment Rekka merely thought over her answer, dwelling on the last couple of days. They weren't exactly exciting but there were still things to tell, if she could remember them at least.

"Not with me, no, though I might've caught a glimpse or two of him," she admitted. Was that flash of red on occasion really it though? If her and Celine's assumption about the keychains was true than it certainly could be. The keychain hanging from the strap of Rekka's dress was a little red fallen angel, after all...

The question had probably been an obvious one but for Celine, this was all still unfamiliar territory. She knew he was a shaman, knew what his spirit was. Celine kept that close to her, however. There was no need to say things like that out loud.

She spared a small smile in response though said nothing more as of yet. Celine was tired as it was, a shame really. She would have liked to be a little more active and talkative. This damned demon just wouldn't allow it.

Where he was from didn't surprise her either. Still, she spoke regardless of that knowledge, "That's a long way from home. I wondered why Hao had disappeared for so long."

Celine couldn't quite recall who would be next to join or how long it would be. There were some things that were still fuzzy. In time, she figured she'd find out. Celine didn't worry about it too much, as long as no one was getting killed.

"I've lived in the States all my life," she finally continued, "Ohio, specifically. Not much to see. Just a lot of corn fields and cows."

If anything, she wasn't lying there. She wondered how long she could keep so many secrets. Knowing Hao probably already knew concerned her. The old soul wasn't one to lord anything about anyone's head though. He'd rather simply let things roll out the way they need to.

Hao couldn't help but shake his head a little. Rekka certainly was a fiery one. Her past had told him enough, from the memories and thoughts that she had. Rekka was an interesting woman who wanted more in life. This would make it easy to work with her.

He chuckled pleasantly, eager to continue the conversation. There was much to learn from these two woman. It would simply take a little time.

"I don't know, perhaps I'll tower over you one day," he noted lightly, "It's easy to tell how tall a man will be. Women, it's always undetermined. You may be five foot flat, you know."

It was fun to see her a little flustered and hear her thoughts race in her head in those moments. Rekka certainly was a humorous girl with spunk. He couldn't wait to see more.

The information she parted with was simple enough. So far, the demons were trying to show themselves but they were doing it in ways that reflected each woman's personality and pains. It was a trick he had seen in the past and one that wasn't uncommon.

"I see, perhaps they're trying to get you to see them," he pointed out, "You both can already see spirits. Demons are no different but they like to pick and prod until their pray breaks. So what about your friend? She looks unwell, you know."

He already knew why, of course. Both demons were trying to gnaw at weaknesses. It was simply a matter of who would break first.

The States... Mohammed couldn't say that he knew that area of the world well but for their soldiers. He had little to say about them, having fought against them so much in the last year alone. Ah, but he would not mention that. He was not hear to step on any toes after all.

"At the very least there is plenty of vegetation and rain," Mohammed pointed out, for lack of anything more he could say on the matter. Even the change from desert to this area in Japan was startling and his body would certainly take time to acclimatize to it.

"I am sure it was as quaint little place," he further stated. It was a bid to keep the peace, to keep the conversation going. But would Celine pick up on that? She certainly looked worse off than everyone else here though Mohammed knew not why that was. Perhaps she was ill.

Before he could even open his mouth to ask if she was all right, she looked like she needed to sit and rest to him, her younger sister had suddenly spoken up, drawing Celine's attention to her. Mohammed blinked, politely waiting though growing confused as he did so. He did not know this woman and her sibling nor any of the other shamans here and he had to wonder if this was normal or not. The confusion on everyone's face seemed to say that it might not be.

"Is this a common occurrence?" he asked all the same, glancing to Celine for his answer.

Rekka gave a dry laugh at Hao's comment. Maybe he was fishing for that information from her thoughts though Rekka wasn't gonna give that information up so easily. Stuck in this body and forced to grow up a second time, well, she already knew what to expect of her body at least.

"Well, suppose we'll find out one day, huh?" she'd shot back instead.

Ah, but that teasing from Hao was pushed to the side for the time being. Probably for the best, that. Rekka wanted to now more, whether it be about him, about shamanism and how to work with her mana or any other thing with this new life and world. It seemed like that was going to be a hell of a slow process however...

Whatever Hao thought about what she'd said, he didn't comment on it. It was a possibility that he wanted to see if she and Celine could piece things together on their own and come to meet their attached demons on their own merits. Well, if that was the case then Rekka was gonna do her damnedest to do just that. Failure wasn't acceptable.

"Well, the little bastard can have fun trying, I'll crush him! And if I break first then I'll just crush him twice as hard for besting me when I recover~," Rekka promised confidently. Her smile slipped a little at the mention of Celine's current state. Glancing at the now older woman (in a manner of speaking), Rekka would answer; "Yeah, lack of sleep and stress does that to a person..."

For a moment Rekka was quiet, just examining the dark circles under Celine's eye and the pallid look to her overall. If she just had something to do 'round here...

"If she had something to read she might be better off. Hell, if I'd had some art supplies the last few--" Rekka suddenly trailed off, a realization hitting her. 'Oh no... no, no, no, no, no, no, it better not have it better fucking not have--'

Mind in a whirl, Rekka spun to Celine, interrupting whatever she and Mohammed had been murmuring about. It was rude but she didn't find it in her to care right now, not with the worry, the fear that slammed through her without warning.

"Celine! Celine, big problem here! Please, please tell me you have some paper or something on you! You do, right? Just... even a crumpled up receipt would work!"
