The library was empty at this time of night. The candlelight flickered from one area of the room as Ashaani sat quietly with her nose in a thick book. Arthas paused and smiled as he watched the girl from a distance. She was always either here studying or in the gardens day dreaming. Her skills as a paladin were matched with his.
Arthas had always been the more strategic out of the three and Varian's swordsmanship was almost unmatchable. The two often thought Ashaani particularly skilled with the magic side of their class. At heart she was a kind and very caring individual. The Holy Light had seemed to have taken a particular calling to her, to which she was seemingly very devoted.
Finally the Prince made his way over to the girl. She closed her book and stood to face him as he got closer to her. "Prince Arthas." She gave him a playful smile as she bowed her head and curtsied. He returned the playfulness and bowed to her in return. "My lady." He said as he held out his hand for her. Ashaani laughed and took his hand before he pulled her closer to him.
She looked into his blue eyes and smiled. "Isn't it past your bed time?" He asked her with a soft tone. "I could say the same for you...as I do recall you were very exhausted while sparing." The girl laughed a little and took down a lantern from the wall. Arthas didn't answer as he watched the light dance across her face.
The two of them walked through the halls talking and laughing in the candlelight until Arthas finally stopped at a door. He took the lantern from her and placed it onto the wall before taking her hands into his. "Goodnight." She said watching him. Arthas smiled at her one last time and kissed her on the cheek. "Goodnight." He said before watching her walk into her room.
