Reks toyed with the ink pen she used when she drew. Nier had provided it for her when she first arrived in his home. She used that pen often, more so now than ever.

She found herself mulling over another problem. She had finally come to accept this place. It was her home and the people she knew were friend and family. Now, she was harboring strong feelings for the man who saved her. Reks wasn't sure how to go about this situation. Nier had lost his wife. His daughter was another matter entirely.

"You're brooding again," Nier voice rang out. Reks flinched in response, glancing at him, "Everything alright?"

Reks ducked her head, feeling her cheeks warm. It was one thing to be caught off guard; it was another to have it happen when it was him.

"N-no," she defended, a tad embarrassed, "I'm alright, I swear."

Reks cleared her throat awkwardly. Nier had replied briefly, heading outside. She ran her hand over her face as if that would rid her cheeks of the blush.

She couldn't get to the heart of this problem until she could admit these fond feelings. That was the crux of the issue. Reks just needed the courage.

If only she could gather it. That would have been a great help.
