She tugged out another Pokeball, recalling Minipete as well, even as he finished stuffing his cheeks with the stolen food. Kelly tossed him a look for it even before he was fully inside the device, shoving him out of sight of the moment.

She spared no glance towards the Aerodactyl and its rider as they passed through the sky. The great wing beats were loud, a beacon to all, and the shadow passed over Kelly as it flew off from the city. Kelly's smirk widened.

'At least she's using her time wisely.'

Kelly tugged out her cell phone, ignoring the new texts altogether. One was from Surge a couple of others came from others in Team Rocket. They held no interest to her. Merely some requests for her to find a way for the higher-ups to get her to go assist them.

She scoffed at them.

'Target's run off. Meet me near the Pokemon Center.' The text sent off to Surge she stuffed the phone back into her pocket.

Yes, the target was acting intelligently, covering more ground with an Aerodactyl for a ride but Kelly's Pokemon had managed to slip a little tracking device into the Zangoose's fur. That alone would boost Kelly's chances of following after easily, even if she had to convince a certain someone to help out.

Besides, even if the device was found Team Rocket had eyes and ears everywhere. It would be no great loss if the tracking device was found and ditched.

Kelly scoffed in amusement, glancing up into the sky. The Aerodactyl was only a speck in the sky now.

'Good luck, kiddo. You're gonna need it.'

Oki's stomach was twisted in knots. Even as the city had disappeared behind them, she was still scared to death. She knew the only thing that was keeping her from breaking down was adrenalin.

She didn't know how far they had been going now. She didn't stop to think or ask or even take the time to make a call, though she desperately wanted to. If it went on into the night and the boys didn't hear from her, she knew they would worry. At the same time, she didn't have a choice. She'd have to explain it in given time. She wasn't sure how they'd take the news, however.

She hadn't wanted this. Whatever she had seen, it wasn't meant to be. Now she was in a mess of trouble, fighting for what seemed to be her life.

This game, however it may turn, she guessed rules would be broken. If that were the case, she would have to keep an eye out. The woman, whoever she was, had the upper hand. If Oki could find a way to slip passed her 'rules', she would.

She worried immensely however. This was big, bigger than she had even come into and it had all been turned into a game. Her life was nothing but a game. If she felt anything but the surge of adrenalin, she knew she would be crying. She knew she would later. She just hoped she'd be alive to get to that point.

Surge scoffed at the message he received. Of course the target would slip out of her grasp. She would be the one to let it happen. He thought 'let' because that was the truth. Kelly 'let' people get away at times, just to play games. He could only assume this was another.

He shook his head, stuffing his phone back into his pocket. He started toward the Pokemon Center and wait to see what she had planned this time around. Knowing her for so long, she still had some surprises. This was just another one of them she had tucked up her sleeve, he was sure.

All he knew was it would be a long, long day.

After the pokemon had finished eating, Gwen cleared the bowls aside and sent all of the pokemon except for Chikorita back into their balls. Then she and the leafy pokemon exited the cave, hoping to find someone who could tell her more about the area and where to go next. Of the little she has heard while being around people, it wasn't safe out by herself. Despite the fact that she was on a pokemon journey, it didn't change the fact that she was only twelve and therefore quite vunerable; she'd admit that much to herself.

Now that she thought about it, she had heard rumors around from a few people about some shady group, but that couldn't possibly be true could it? No. Just a few crazy conspiracy theorists, nothing of significance.

Anyway, she couldn't worry about that right now, what she needed to worry about was finding someone who could show her out of this place.

The girl tried to look through the crowd, but still could only make out glimpses of Pokemon and a woman standing there seeming to taunt someone out of her sight. She let out an irritated sigh.

"This is getting me nowhere..." she muttered under her breath, glancing around behind her spiraled glasses.

She then thought of a somewhat helpful idea. She took a Pokeball out of her bag, releasing a Haunter who floated happily in the air, a wide grin on his face.

"I need you to fly up and see what's going on, Hades, think you can do that?"

The Haunter's grin simply got wider, confirming this task as very possible. Within no time, the Ghost Pokemon was floating high in the air, gaining view of the battle taking place.

Oki watched dense forest below, unsure of just where they were. She had to keep checking her Pokegear's map, attempting to keep their direction set for Sinnoh. She knew they wouldn't be making it there in one night; no, they would need a miracle to manage that. Luck never seemed to be on her side.

Regardless, they had to keep a set pace. If they could make it toward Hoenn, she hoped they could make a stop off on the small region and give Flint and Volkner a call. If the night went on and they hadn't heard back, she was sure they would expect the worst.

It was the worst, however. Just not the way they would have thought of it.

She bit her lip, gazing out to what seemed to be the ocean. They hadn't traveled far into Johto; she was glad for that now. If they kept up the rest of the day, she was sure they'd make it out of the region with good time.

She patted Barba's side reassuringly, urging him to keep up his good work. It was only a day, but they were making good progress so far. She hoped they could keep it up.

The walk had been a short one for Surge. He hadn't been too far away when he was tracking Kelly, so he had little to worry about in the aspect of time.

He stuffed his hands into his pockets, leaning against the building. Watching the people pass by, he looked for Kelly. She had a way with blending into the crowd, making her harder to spot. It was a particularly good talent and one of the few that she was praised for. The skill made hasty escapes easy for her.

Still, it left him searching out for the woman, wondering just where she would end up next. Often times, it made things worse on him. She was always looking for trouble after all.

He scoffed at this, wondering just what she had planned this time. No doubt, he'd be willing to boast about it. She was the type, after all.

All he knew was she was keeping him waiting. They had a job to take care of. This wasn't the time to be playing games. He shook his head. Like she'd listen to reason anyways.

Half an hour had passed and Flint had spent the majority of that time pacing and doing whatever he could to busy himself. He had to trust in Oki and her abilities to keep herself alive. Infernape watched him from afar, his arms crossed over his furry chest. The Pokemon had much more self-discipline than his trainer did in those moments.

Flint bit his lip. "What's keeping her?"

Infernape shrugged in response though he too felt worry and paranoia prodding at him inside of his chest.

Flint dug into his pocket, digging out the outdated PokeGear. It was the only way to quickly contact Oki who had nothing new in terms of technology. He would try her number yet again, see if he couldn't reach her.

It had taken her some time to reach the Pokemon Center. Tailing after the target had led her farther to the city's edge before she had confronted the other woman. Now she had backtracked around, spotting Surge easily as he leaned against the wall of the designated building and looking quite aggravated.

One moment the place at his side was empty and the next she had sidled up next to him silently.

Kelly leaned into him, nudging the man slightly and smirking up at him playfully. "Hey, don't look so sour," she prodded.

In her hand she held her phone, a map of Johto displayed over it where a blinking red dot was displayed moving steadily away from Goldenrod. She had noted in her time observing the trail that it seemed as if her target was heading towards Hoenn, possibly further.

"Besides, you get to be my partner in crime again - which seems to be quite an envious spot as of lately." This was truth, it seemed, as many of the other Rocket members seemed to be requesting her aid as of late. Of course she paid them little mind. Many people didn't hold her attention after all.

The trip was far from relaxing at this point. A rumble of her Pokegear nearly sent her toppling off of her Pokemon. Barba had to straighten himself up, growling slightly as if to scold his trainer.

She huffed. There was no way she could talk to him when they were flying. It would be too difficult to maneuver and it was likely he wouldn't hear her voice over the wind anyways. It was obvious he was worried; he wouldn't have called otherwise. He'd have to wait, however.

"We'll wait until nightfall." She muttered. "Hoenn or not, we'll land...I'll have to make the call than..."

The day would wear on, leaving her exhausted physically and mentally. She felt she would put enough distance between the woman and herself, however. She simply hoped that would remain the case.

Surge grunted, watching the woman as she approached. This was a 'normal' conversation between the pair; at least, as normal as one could get. Kelly wasn't exactly well in the department of 'normal' after all.

"What do you have in mind this time?" He inquired, folding his arms over his chest. "Playing another game?"

While it was true other Rocket members were attempting to request her help, it was only temporary and more than not, they would leave, feeling too pressured or not able to keep up. It wasn't often many stuck around.

"Get on with it. Whatever you're up to, I'm sure you're not willing to take up all day."

He watched the sky. It must have been passed two now. Whatever she was up to, she was keeping an eye on her phone. He wouldn't admit it, but he was slightly curious of just what she had planned this time around.

The girl had decided to call back her Haunter for now, as there was no longer any sight of a battle going on. Just what had happened? She needed to find out, at least figure out if Team Rocket was involved in some way.

The trainer spotted the woman finally, though only a glance through the crowd, seeing to head to the Pokemon Center. She sighed; someone had flown away, so she had no choice but follow to the Pokemon Center. She had to heal her own Pokemon a bit anyway.

As she entered the Pokemon Center, she spotted the woman finally, getting a much clearer view. She would have to listen in on their conversation as her Pokemon were healed to avoid suspicion. It was a good thing her glasses his her eyes for the most part.

Flint breathed deeply, working to keep himself calm. Maybe she was just busy, that was all. Infernape still remained nearby, waiting and watching. He would be there to listen to Flint when he was needed. Until then, he waited.

"Infer..."

"We'll give her a little bit longer before we start worrying," Flint nodded. "If she hasn't called back before dark Volkner and I will do something about this...."

Kelly glanced to Surge as he glanced towards the sky. He didn't seem to be into too much of a good mood. Her phone was still in hand. There was still quite a bit of time left before she could give chase. Around them people still milled about, oblivious to the pair of Team Rocket members in their midst.

She smiled, pressing closer to Surge, pressing her lips against his shoulder as she blinked up at him playfully. She showed it a lot but she assumed that Surge just took it as her messing with him - she rather enjoyed having him as her partner, even if she did run off quite a bit.

"Come on, stop being so sour," she teased lightly. "You know you like a good game as much as I do~."

Surge grunted, folding his arms over his chest. He wouldn't lie, Kelly often times thought of rather creative ways just to have a little fun. It beat what they had to do guarding Team Rocket all of the time. Still, she was rather reckless with her decisions as well.

"What do you have in mind?" He inquired, almost hesitantly in fact. No doubt, it would be something extreme.It was never simple. "Also, how much trouble will it cause me?"

That was the one thing he wanted to ensure. She wasn't someone who made things simple. It had to be big, ridiculously big. If it wasn't, she wouldn't be able to stand it. That's how she worked. The issue was, it always caused trouble on his end, whether by other members or higher ups.

He heaved a sigh, already thinking of the possibilities. He doubted he would fair well in this at all.

"Trouble?" She hummed, still leaning against his shoulder, staring up at him through her bangs. "It's only trouble if anyone cares."

Kelly really wished he wouldn't worry so much. She knew what she was doing. It wasn't like they'd exactly play fair anyways, they never did.

"As for what I have in mind," she handed him her phone, which still displayed the target's moving location. "Even you should know by now."

She waited for him to connect the dots, resorting to hugging his arm as this happened. Honestly Surge was possible the only one she was ever this physically affectionate with. A shame he never really reacted much to it - at least not that she could see.

When they had first met he had often boasted about looking for a challenge. Well, he got it on that chance meeting. Kelly supposed he hadn't ever thought it would end up quite like this however.

Surge snorted, seeing her seemingly throwing a form of affection toward him. It wasn't something either chose to hide; most members knew about it. Still, this was the easiest way he knew she could butter him up.

He snatched the cell phone out of her hand, still appearing displeased though, it was only a joking manner. He watched the blinking dot on the screen, closing in on the ocean. Whoever she was tracking, they were heading out to see, possibly toward Hoenn.

"Who have you made your 'toy' this time around?" He grunted in response. "This is what you want? You want me to help you follow whoever this is right?"

These were the games that never seemed to end. Kelly would be after another just as quickly as she captured this one. "What's the catch?" He inquired further. "Who does the target know?"

There always a catch, after all. If the target had strong friends, Kelly would be more apt to chase after another. He learned this rather early on.

Kelly grinned broadly, nuzzling into his arm as if to encourage him to continue 'playing' along with the 'game'. To anyone not in the know, to the passersby, they would merely look like a couple.

"The toy is that target from earlier," she answered. "You know the one - the chick who ran into the guys catching that Pokemon."

She wouldn't specify it out loud, not with crowded streets around them. But this woman had been a high priority target since she had been caught spying Team Rocket gathering up the latest legendary Pokemon. She checked the time on the phone.

"We need to get going in about ten minutes - that's when her time limit is up for the head start," she pointed out.

Kelly waited a moment for this to sink in. It was more for show than anything. She placed her chin atop his shoulder. "So, can I count you in or not, Surge?"

Jamie listened carefully to the conversation between the two as her Pokemon were healed and ready. There was no doubt in her mind now; the woman was certainly a Team Rocket member, if not the man with her. Thankfully the glasses hid away the look of utter hate in her eyes, she was sure anyone else may end up being intimidated by it. Such a thing was simply human nature after all; being wary of one with such a look of anger that is.

One part of the conversation caught her attention. A head start? Who were they letting have a 'head start'? Her curiosity kept this burned in her mind.

She gave a smile as the nurse handed the Pokeballs back to her before quickly exiting the Pokemon Center. Taking refuge in a nearby alleyway, she let her Haunter back out.

"Did you see anything, Hades?"

"Hauunter Hauunt." the Ghost Pokemon said. His trainer took this into thought; he seemed to be pointing in the direction where the sea separating Johto and Hoenn was. Perhaps that was where this target was headed...

"Alright, looks like our time in Johto will have to be cut short."

Surge grunted in response. He ruffled his own hair, unsure of what to answer. Of course, she was attempting to butter him up so he'd say yes. That was a normal result. He couldn't deny that they needed to get the target as well; she was a rather good tracker. He briefly wondered just who she knew, however. Someone like her could have ties among strong and curious trainers search out legendaries.

Waving a hand, he heaved a heavy sigh. "Fine," he finally stated aloud. "Whatever you need, I'll get it for you. It's partly my mission too, so I can't say 'no' when our target is just taking off. I swear, if this one gets away though."

He didn't finish; didn't feel the need to. Letting Kelly clutch to him, he began walking, leading the way out of the city.

"She's got a flying type, right? Only reason she's heading out toward the ocean so fast. You want me to use Zapdos."

It had been a simple guessing game now. One thing lead to another; she could be predictable at times with her requests; sometimes down right obvious.

"Once we're out of the city, we'll go. She can't manage too far by night fall."

He smirked at the thought. The game was sounding a little fun to him now. It seemed 'cat and mouse' would fair well for the both of them.

As the sky darkened, they would take off under the cover of night. It would only be a matter of time. If the target didn't make it to where she was desperately trying to get to, it would be all the more easier for them.

When it got dark, Oki finally managed to get Barba on the ground. They had made it to the Hoenn region, but not without taking a risk. Barba was exhausted and she wondered if the Pokemon would be able to fly the next day. She mentally cursed, scolding herself for pushing Barba so hard.

Wandering into Slateport City, she pulled her Pokegear from her pocket. Both Flint and Volkner were bound to be in a panic by now. She hadn't exactly just 'called back' as she had told him. The entire day was behind her now.

She allowed the device to ring, hoping he would pick up in time. All the while, she rented a room in the Pokemon Center, heading there as quickly as possible. She wasn't sure if it was exactly 'safe'. The rule had been no attacking in public, or at least, from what she recalled.

Entering the room, she heaved a sigh, waiting for someone to pick up on the other end of the line.

After a long time of idle thinking, Gwen finally headed out of the cave. No-one's just going to appear and show me the way, I guess, so if I want to get a decent distance away, I'd better start now. She thought.

The trouble was, she didn't know where to start! She did, however, remember the way she came from so she thought it logical to continue forward, out of this forest, then go from there. Maybe someone on one of the routes could tell her how to progress. Maybe somebody heading out of the city, the opposite way. However, she had heard the stories. You couldn't trust anyone these days. If she had a penny for every story she had heard about someone being captured by Team Rocket, she'd have enough money to be running the organization within a week.

Trudging through the mud, she kept an eye out for any wild Pokemon which may be intent on attacking her. She tried to keep a quick, cautious pace despite her foot often becoming stuck in the mud or the ocassional branch slapping her in the face. She often wondered about what Pokemon she'd find here though she couldn't afford to become too deep in thought, keeping her wits about her was vital in these times.

It was tough at times, always having to be on edge, always having to keep a look out and having that constant fear of being kidnapped drilled into her head. It was a lot for a twelve year old girl to worry about. She didn't want to worry about it. It was amazing how quickly hysteria spread. Why couldn't people just enjoy life? Enjoy their journey? Being careful was one thing; being paranoid was another.

[[OOC: Angel, I think you're way behind. Oki, Reaper and I are all getting towards night-time already if not getting ready for a time skip to the next day.]]

The device in his hand rang causing Flint to jump, blinking at it as if stunned that he still held onto it. It wasn't until Infernape had nudged him did Flint answer it.

"Oki? Are you alright?" he questioned right away, worry lacing his voice. He glanced over to Volkner, studying his friend's expression. As usual the man just seemed bored with the proceedings. Still, he knew Volkner had to have been as worried as Flint was.

"Did something happen?"

As Surge had promised once the sun had set and they had made it out of Goldenrod without a problem he called out the Zapdos, its body darkened from the affects of being a Shadow Pokemon. Even still, Kelly seemed to taunt it a little, by affectionately patting its beak, snatching her hand back out of reach just as Zapdos nipped at her, sparks dancing across its body.

"Nah, nah~," she sang, "Still too slow~!"

This was how it usually went with the interactions between Surge's Pokemon and Kelly. All of the man's Pokemon had been experimented on to make them more powerful by way of closing off their hearts and thus making them more violent. It never deterred her, however, to the fact that any one of them could severely injure her if they really tried.

Oki swallowed hard, unsure of what to say. She had been ready to slip out an explanation; now she seemed too overwhelmed with emotion to do it. Her heart raced against her chest, no sense of relief even with hearing from Flint.

She sat at a small desk in the room, a dim table lamp providing the only light for her to see by. She propped her elbow on the table, her hand finding it's way to her forehead. She was getting a headache, even feeling feverish from the sudden amount of stress thrown on her shoulders.

"I'm in big trouble..." She muttered. She had to work the words passed the lump in her throat. "Whoever these people are; one's made a game out of my entire situation."

She gritted her teeth, swallowing hard. She tried not to allow herself to cry but it was becoming increasingly difficult. Her whole body trembled; whether it was from the effort or her fear, she wasn't sure.

"A game of cat and mouse. Flint, these people are toying with me...I don't know what they're playing at now but this woman, whoever she is, is playing a game, using my life as her toy and I don't know what to do..."

Covering her eyes just slightly, she choked on a sob. Tears streamed down her cheeks even as she attempted to will them to stop.

"I'm scared. I don't know what to do..."

Surge heaved a sigh. Kelly had always challenged his Pokemon despite how dangerous they were. In fact, it was just a game to her. There were times when he wondered when Zapdos would take her hand or worse. If she kept picking at him, there was no telling what the Shadow Pokemon would do.

"Look, you're target's stopped, okay?" He mentioned, waving toward her. "If you want to catch her, than we can't waste time playing, got it?"

Surge was waiting no time in mounting the large bird Pokemon. He only had to wait on Kelly before they would lift off. They needed to move. The target had stopped for what seemed to be the night. No doubt whatever Pokemon she had used would be exhausted.

"Too bad. She's not far enough to prove some challenge." He commented, chuckling slightly. "You sure this ones even worth your time?"

Jamie had made her way out of the city by now, and was now heading straight for the Hoenn region. She had no doubt that she would have to get there soon, before Team Rocket could get their target. Catching a boat at the last minute, she would most likely be in Hoenn in just a few hours. She could manage to stay up that late.

The trainer allowed her Pokemon out of their Pokeballs for now; a Vulpix, Growlthe, Hypno, and her Haunter. She spent a few minutes informing the group of what was going on, removing her glasses as she did so. Her violet eyes were filled with anger towards Team Rocket.

"We need to help their target before they find them. Alright?" she said, and her Pokemon called out. They understood their trainer's hate, and were prepared to fight.

Still, she grew too tired, and soon all five were asleep.

It was getting pretty dark and Gwen hadn't heard from Chikorita all day. Something had to be wrong. It was as if the leafy pokemon knew something that she didn't. On several occasions throughout the day, she had tried to interact with her, but not one time did she respond. Several times had she tried to return Chikorita to the pokeball but her reaction was usually to run away, as if she was scared of the thing.

Despite her pokemon's odd behaviour, they had made a lot of progress that day. From the way they were going, Gwen knew she was in a town or city but she had no idea if it was Goldenrod or not.

Quicker than it took her mind to notice, Chikorita bolted off through the town! Gwen ran after her, only just managing to keep sight of her, despite the amount of twists and turns she made. This route was leading her out of the city and she didn't keep track of how long she'd been chasing this pokemon but it felt like hours! It was only then that she noticed this route was taking her out of the city through the opposite end from which she came. She went further out and saw no sign of Chikorita anywhere. Distraught, she was about to give up. She had spent the most time with that pokemon than any other and for it just to run off like that was heart breaking. Tears almost the size of bullets rolled down her cheek. "Chikorita..." She croaked.

Eventually just as gwen thought she had lost her pokemon, she heard a familiar "Chik!" closeby. She made her way further out, a smile forming on her face once more, hope slowly returning.

"Chik, Chik, Chika!" She heard again. She knew she wasn't imagining it. She headed towards the noise and came to a sort of dock. Boats lined the side of it and it seemed to be taking passengers. Squinting, Gwen managed to capture the sight of a green dot in the distance. That dot then became a bigger dot, which then became a pokemon, which then became "Chikorita!" Gwen screeched and bolted over to her. "Oh my... don't run off like that again!!"

The Chikorita simply smiled and began leaping up and down on the spot. "Chika! Chika!" She exclaimed. "Chiko!"

"Y-You want me to get on?" She asked.

Its smile grew wider. "Chiko!"

Gwen turned her attention to her watch. 8:30. This must be the last boat till tomorrow. She thought.

"Come on, we'll catch one tomorrow!" She said.

The pokemon remained stubborn. It just didn't seem soon enough for her.

Gwen looked back at the city behind her, she was tired and hungry. She would probably collapse walking back to the city and by the time she made it there, everything would most likely be shut anyway. Gwen sighed heavily. "Fine." She said.

"Chik! Chika!" Chikorita sang and led the way.

Flint felt his chest constrict, a lump in his throat, as Oki began to cry. Even as she did her best to contain it the sobs still rolled out and it caused Flint to ache in response. When next he spoke it was soothingly, trying to calm her down.

"It's okay, Oki. You're not alone. Volkner and I can make it to wherever you are lickety-split if we have to!" he reassured. "Just let us know what you need, let us help."

He waited then, with bated breath. She never had a problem coming to him for help, to let him protect her when she needed it. But would now be any different? He wasn't sure of all the details, of any constraints this mystery woman had placed. He'd have to dig out details slowly but only once he was sure Oki had calmed.

"Mmm, yeah," Kelly admitted, mounting Zapdos behind Surge and wrapping her arms about his waist. Once she was certain of her placement on the Pokemon she continued, "But we can't catch her out in the open either."

A short paused followed for a moment before she spoke up again, "And don't yell at me; I'll bite you." As if to prove her point she nipped at Surge's shoulder rather childishly. It was quite a sight to see for many who had only heard about Kelly and her abilities, to see her on her own compared to when she was around Lt. Surge.

She pulled out her phone, double checking the coordinates. "It looks like the target stopped in Slateport. We can still fuck with her there."

Volkner listened in quietly. Throughout the evening, he hadn't really worried too much. He had wondered if the issue had been exaggerated. Hearing how upset she was, he was slowly beginning to believe the opposite.

He leaned forward, his chin laying in his fist. His gaze became steely, waiting to hear more. She needed to push on, to ask for help. Just what was holding her back?

Oki tried to calm her breath. She sniffled, wiping her eyes. Clearing her throat, she remained quiet for a moment. She had to gather herself, brushing her bangs out of her face.

"I can't," She finally replied, her voice shaking slightly. "If I attempt to get help from others, she'll bring in reinforcements; her words." She explained. Her head was pounded. She placed her finger tips on her forehead, as if it might help. "I don't think this is a small fry organization; from what I can guess, they have eyes and ears everywhere..."

She paused, the lump in her throat threatening to silence her once again. She heaved a sigh, her hand balling into a fist as she leaned it against her forehead.

"I'm in Slateport." She finally allowed her location to be known. "I'm heading back toward home now, but I can't even guarantee that I can see you or Volkner much less allow you to help..."

She trailed off, unsure of what else to say. She didn't know what else to say. She had no plan, she was scared stiff. Her mind so scrambled and unsure, she could think straight. She had no plan. If things didn't go well, she wouldn't be sticking around too long.

Surge snorted in response. He let the woman have her fun, not that he seemed to mind it too much. This was a rather normal thing between them; even when some didn't know it or found it strange.

"You're a horrible person, you know that?" He chuckled as he said this. "Screwing with the kid? What's wrong with you?"

He didn't wait for an answer, he kicked at the Zapdos's side. The Pokemon let out a great cry, which echoed quite far, before spreading his wings and taking off. Slateport wasn't far enough. He still thought that Kelly was wasting her time with this one. Still, it didn't seem to pull her away; she wanted this game and he would play along, just to make her happy.

Flint halted, unsure of how to go about this for the moment. He passed a glance toward Volkner, as if seeing if he had anything to add. A few minutes seemed to pass before Flint could think of anything to say, before he could piece together a proper response.

"Oki, it doesn't matter if it's a game," Flint answered slowly. "If we play by her rules you're already at a disadvantage."

Infernape grunted behind him, nudging Flint. Flint blinked at the Pokemon, watching as the Pokemon continued to communicate in his way to the trainer. Flint nodded after a moment.

"If you won't let us help you directly at least let us help from afar. What did this woman look like? Did you get a name? Anything that we can go off of?"

Kelly pouted at Surge's assessment, opening her mouth to respond before she paused. Finally she nodded, feeling the wind whip about them and Zapdos' wing beats fill the air with noise.

"I - .... yeah... Yeah, kinda. There's just - ahhh - so many things wrong. All of the things." She rested her chin on Surge's shoulder as she spoke, dry sarcasm being the name of the game now.

"There is just never not anything wrong with me."

Kelly tugged at his shirt then, a smirk making its way to her lips. "So what does that say about you? You're always following along~."

Oki attempted to think. He was right, this woman had obviously wanted to put her at any form of disadvantage. She was already out numbered, sure there were hidden others of her type hiding about.

She needed all the help she could get. Why was she denying it? She feared they would be hurt. It was her problem yet, she was scared to death of being alone. She needed the help; there was no denying it.

"No, you're right." She finally muttered the response. "I need your help; both of yours. I'm just not sure how to go about it yet..."

She sighed through her nose, trying to gather her thoughts. She closed her eyes briefly, trying to think back to the woman's appearance. She hadn't gotten much of a look or even cared to remember it. Still, they would need the information to help.

"She had short, brown hair; long dark coat and a red shirt underneath. Knee high shorts, black, I think. Wore glasses as well. That's about all I remember about her...aside from her using electric types, it seems. She had three of them; I assume there would be more."

Volkner grew interested hearing that the woman seemed to favor electric types. He raised a hand toward Flint, grabbing his friends attention.

"That'd be my field. If this woman's an electric type user, or even has a few of them, I might be able to predict her attacks or how powerful she really is."

He knew that this wasn't going to be the only way to help but it would be enough at the moment. Until they saw this woman, they couldn't be sure of who she was or how powerful she would be. At least they had some form of an upper hand, even if it was small.

Surge shook his head, chuckling a bit. Kelly knew how to make him laugh, even if the sarcasm could go both ways. At least, even in a bleak situation, she could throw out some humor without an problem.

"If I didn't play along," He answered, a smirk on his lips. "I wouldn't hear the end of it!"

Of course, that was a little true. He joined along only because he liked Kelly and as such, he would follow her. Despite her reckless behavior or her lack of listening, she was someone he liked. There weren't too many who actually got on his good side after all.

He watched as the city lights were drifting behind them. It wouldn't take them long to reach Hoenn. The target would be surprised, he was sure; but she should have thought ahead. They were a dangerous group; she should have known. It was her mistake. He didn't figure this 'game' would be played for long.

Flint listened solemnly, stowing away all of the information for later use. In fact, he had even dragged out a pad of paper and a pen to jot it all down on as notes. If they had information they might be able to turn the tables. At least Flint hoped so.

He nodded as Volkner spoke up. It was true, after all. He was a Gym Leader for a reason, one of the stronger ones in Sinnoh, even. With electric-types being his forte they already had an advantage.

At least Flint hoped they did.

"You said she made this a game - did she say anything else?" he prodded, straining his ears as if afraid to miss anything important.

"No, you wouldn't hear the end of it... because my ideas are best ideas. They are never not the best."

Kelly had no doubt that they would track her down easily, bring the target in. She was the best tracker, after all. Everyone wanted to use her ability to their advantage. The problem was that she cared little for many people and their intentions. If it didn't interest her she refused to take the job - even when provided by her higher-ups.

This caused for a lot of trouble coming her way. Kelly briefly recalled the time that she had been locked in an emptied room but for a bed - not even any lights to see by - for a week for refusing a job handed to her from one of the Rocket executives. She had even been stripped of her Pokemon in her possession for the stunt.

She learned nothing from the experience if anyone else had anything to observe from that event.

In truth she had no real interest in Team Rocket, no interest in anyone's goals but for Surge's. True, she had joined up to save the lives of her and her Pokemon but there had been the underlying reason of staying by Surge's side.

Of course, Kelly would never admit that out loud. No use giving Surge even more of a swelled head.
