The sun was shining down brightly, warming the city and all that inhabited it. Some were escaping into buildings, away from the heat. Sienna didn't mind it so much as she made her way down the sidewalk. She'd meet up with Emi and Caroline, have a bit of a girl's day. It was long overdue, especially with the new training Echo Six had been through in the last month.

Emi's house wasn't far, an apartment really. Then again most people in this neck of the city lived in apartments.

Sienna smiled brilliantly at a dark-haired guy who passed her, stealing glances at her. She rather liked the attention, she had to admit, though she didn't have time to sit around and chat. Instead she carried on, the building Emi lived in coming in view. In a matter of minutes she was already inside, the air conditioned air a sharp contrast to the warmth outside.

Her phone was in hand, already at her ear by the time she heard the dial tone. The stairs would be taken, two at a time to make sure she didn't dawdle around. At the voice on the other end Sienna smiled, "Caroline? You already up there? ... I'll be up in just a few seconds."

With that her phone was clicked shut, slid back into her pocket. Phone calls with Caroline were never very long, then again the girl was more apt to be out running and hiking and training than chatting on the phone. Really, it was more of a formality on Sienna's part to let her and Emi know she was there.

The door came into view and Sienna wasted no time in rapping her knuckles along the wood. She'd wait patiently, a smile on her lips for Emi or Caroline to pull the door open and invite her inside.

Gray eyes scanned the crowds, a frown tugging at the corners of her lips. Alma had been at it all morning, stopping only to find something to snack on from a nearby store for lunch. The sun had risen as she searched an still she had nothing to show for it. At this rate Umbrella's gonna find him first, she scoffed.

A flash of agitation crossed her features at that before it was gone, the bored-looking one back in place quickly after. It wasn't often much got Alma riled anymore. Umbrella had a way of pressing her buttons quickly after the incident in Raccoon City, with management leaving her for dead after her team had been wiped out. Now she spent her days weeding out Umbrella operatives under the radar, still working from the shadows though Umbrella had gone bankrupt a couple years before.

Tugging out her phone she glanced at the information stored away. There was more of it, tucked onto a memory stick in her bag for scrutinizing on her laptop. For now she didn't have that luxury.

The scarred face of the Russian she sought stared back at her from her phone. He had information on Umbrella, information they deemed important. Alma had finally gotten a good lead but Umbrella was on his trail, as well. If she didn't act quickly, didn't find him and tug him out of the way and try to sway him to help her then she might as well kiss her lead goodbye.

"Now, where are you, you ass?" Alma muttered to herself, glancing for the man in the crowds. He came through here often enough for her to pick up his trail here. It was just a matter of spotting him in the crowd.

Alma hoped that refreshing her memory on his appearance would help her pick him out better.

Emi hummed while she finished straightening her hair, basking in the cool air the filled her apartment. Hearing a knock on her door, she placed the straightner on her sink and hurried to the door.

Opening it Caroline stood in the hall.

"Well, you're the first one here as usual, would you like anything to drink?;"

Caroline stepped in and shock her head at this.

"No surprise I'm the first one here- Shaking her head she made her way to the couch to sit down, enjoying the cool air that surrounded her.- Water sounds refreshing after getting out of that heat;"

Walking to the kitchen Emi filled up a glass of water before handing it to Caroline. "Yeah, I heard it is supposed to get pretty hot today, in the high eighties.- Her eyes widened to show the express the mock enthusiasm in her words- You can watch whatever you want on the t.v, I have to get finished so we can go when Sienna gets here;" A smile covered her face before she walked back to the bathroom.

Emi missed her friends when they were away, so when the opportunity came for a girls day she was quick to take it. There was always a lot of catching up to be done, why not do something enjoyable in the process.

Caroline nodded her head. "Take your time. Picking up the remote she turned on the tv and began flipping through the stations, stopping when her phone began to vibrate. Reaching into her pocket Sienna's name and pictured popped up on the screen, pushing the answer button she put the receiver to her ear

"Hey got here a few minuets ago. See you in a little bit.- Hanging up the phone, Caroline tilted her head back- Sienna should be here any second now."

Emi pulled the plug and made her way to the living room. "Good, I'm ready to go!" With that said she hurried to the door when a knock was heard, pulling it open to see Sienna standing in the hallway. "About time.-She began to joke but stopped when the door next to her apartment opened.- Oh, hello."

It was time. Pacing from the kitchen to the living room he decided he had wasted enough time. Umbrella was to pay today. Slipping on his boots, Nicholai made his way to the door. Upon reaching the hallway he noticed his neighbor and that blonde girl that usually hung around. He ignored her friendly greeting, glancing at her from the corner of his eye he proceeded to head down the stairs. All of them will be dead soon

The thought alone brought him some joy, along with the fact that he would be getting back at umbrella for double crossing him. Stepping into the warm air, he squinted his eyes to keep the sun out, following his usual path. He glanced around, cautions. He could never be too careful. They weren't here yesterday, but the information he held was deemed valuable, and umbrella would do anything to silence what he knew.

Scanning the crowd with his eyes, he took note of a woman. Something about her seemed out of place. A smirk covered his lips.

Sienna had begun to smile, to answer back to Emi as she opened the door and greeted her. That was before the door to one of her neighbor's apartments had opened and Emi had cut herself off, giving a more subdued greeting to the rather worn-looking man. A brow raised as he took off without so much as a word back.

Seems like he's seen his fair share of battles, Sienna though, shaking off the brief encounter quickly after.

"Well lookit you, darlin', all gussied up and ready to go!" Sienna grinned, gesturing to Emi. "Where's Caroline bummin' around at, now?"

Poking her head inside the door she looked around dramatically for Caroline before she actually stepped into the apartment per Emi's invitation. They all looked ready but that didn't mean anything. A hand found its way to her hip as Sienna took in the cool air. It was definitely better than outside at the moment.

"You all excited, darlin'?" Sienna prodded, turning back to Emi. It had been long in the planning between Sienna and Caroline but she had to wonder how Emi felt about meeting Crispin later. Emi had heard a lot from the two girls about their squad leader, even a photo or two had been shared over their phones but this would be the first time they'd actually meet.

Sienna figured it wouldn't hurt to get their squad leader a bit of a good time and to meet someone new. He was always so wrapped up with his military career that he rarely got out as it was, even when the rest of the squad did.

Alma's brow furrowed, a deep frown lining her lips some minutes later. She was getting a few curious looks, people from before recognizing her though not wanting to reach out and ask what she was looking around for. She'd had one or two ask the day before and Alma had merely waved them off with the answer of "waiting on a friend" and that had been that.

She didn't so much mind the heat that day as she waited and kept on eye out. Instead she rather enjoyed it. It still didn't do much to ease her agitation of not finding this guy as quickly as she would have liked. Already she had spotted an Umbrella agent slinking around earlier, one of the few whose name and photo she had lifted with her search for information. There were only a few sent after her lead now but that could very well end up being enough...

A familiar face passed by the corner of her eyes and Alma quickly glanced that way. A sigh escaped her, relieved that she'd found him. Now she could only hope that he wouldn't cause a scene in public when she approached and lead him somewhere else. Already she was pushing and slipping past people, eyeing this 'Nicholai Ginovaef' for any hidden weapons. The way he was dressed he could easily have a concealed pistol or knife but Alma couldn't be sure.

At his side she took his elbow in her hand, tugging at it towards a different direction. The way he was heading Alma had witnessed that Umbrella agent snooping around in earlier. She didn't spare a glance up at him, instead watching where they were going.

"It's about time you came out of the hide-y-hole of yours, Ginovaef," she murmured, making sure no one around them could overhear her. "I've some business to do with you."

She paused, mulling over if that was enough. She could feel his eyes boring into the back of her head. It didn't help that he was quite a bit taller than her anyways.

"Before you get huffy," Alma continued, "you'll want to know that it pertains to Umbrella — or rather what's left of it."

Stepping to the side, Emi made room for Sienna to enter. The reaction she received from her neighbor hadn't surprised her, he always kept to himself. Closing the door, she couldn't stop the smile that covered her lips at the comment. "Do you think it's okay? It's not too much?;" Emi looked down at her clothing, straightening out her blouse and shorts.

Caroline leaned to the side, her left eye brow raised. "Bumming around huh?- Her arms were crossed, careful not to spill the glass of water on the couch, her face held a mock stern look- Coming from lady, sleep all day?:"She joked before smiling at the next question. She turned her attention to Emi. Her and Sienna had been working hard to ensure this happened. Everyone deserved to have fun every once in a while. For Crispin that was over due, and for Emi's dating life, way past.

Emi bit her bottom lip before moving over to the empty couch cushion and plopping down on it, tapping the palm of her hands on top of her thighs. "I'm nervous, and excited -She looked down and let out a breath of air- I mean, what if I don't make a good first impression? Or what if he doesn't like me? Or what if it goes really bad?;" letting out a groan she sunk back into the couch covering her face with her hands.

Emi has been looking forward to this day all week. Caroline chuckled a bit. "Stop worrying so much, you will make yourself sick. It will be fine just relax. -She turned her attention back to Sienna- What time are we supposed to be meeting up with him today?"

Nicholai felt the tug at his elbow, lowering his head he peered down at the girl who so boldly did so, studying her. He wouldn't cause a scene, he would humor her. "I don't know anything about you, but you seem to know me."

So they have sent people.

If he saw her as a threat he would have no problem in taking her out. Letting out a short chuckle at her word. "What kind of business would you have with me?" With the mention of 'umbrella' his mouth sneered into a look of disgust. Umbrella, they had betrayed him. But he would fix that today.

"Now why would this interest me?;" Nicholai decided right now pushing for info would be in his best interests for now, maybe he would learn who this girl was.

Sienna shrugged, looking a little pleased about the fact that she slept in when she could. It wasn't every day that luxury came around anymore, not after being apart of Echo Six.

"What can I say, sugar? I like to get some beauty sleep when I can," she answered lightly.

Though they had all become friends it was no secret that Caroline had a drastically different idea of what fun could be. Waking up at the crack of dawn to go for a run every day? Not Sienna's idea of a good time, though every now and again when Caroline went for a run later in the evenings Sienna would join in. Sometimes Emi even came along, too.

Emi gathered her attention when she grew nervous, even as Caroline tried to calm her nerves. It didn't seem to do too much for Emi. Sienna sighed, moving around to Emi's other side. Patting Emi's shoulder Sienna smiled reassuringly.

"I'm sure you'll hit it off fine, darlin'! Crispin's easy to get along with 'n all."

Blinking, Sienna glanced at Caroline. Her phone was tugged out again so that she could look at the time. It was pushed back into her short's pocket quickly after. "We're supposed to meet him in twenty minutes though we've got time. He said he'd wait at that little park near here for us, what is it? Only five, ten minutes away on foot?"

Alma couldn't help but to snort. Of course he knew nothing about her. Even if he did there would not have been a face to place to her name or codename. The times he might have glimpsed her she would have been in full uniform, the gas mask included. U.B.C.S. an U.S.S. didn't interact often, after all.

"I would be concerned if you did," she told him. "Athena will suffice for now."

She glanced back at him just in time to catch the sneer that crossed his face about Umbrella. Alma scoffed at that, turning away and keeping an eye out for any Umbrella agents that might be milling around. If there had been the one there surely had to be others already in this neck of the city, waiting for Nicholai to slip up.

"Don't be coy. Management had a team or two after your ass in Raccoon City, after all," Alma mentioned coolly. "Lucky for you I have a bone to pick with them now-a-days."

Around them people were all about, enjoying the day as they went about their daily schedules. Kids ran around, a group of them kicking a hacky sack around while others merely headed to and from their destinations. Their conversations along with the sounds of the vehicles passing them by helped to mask her words to any potential eavesdropper as Alma lead Nicholai to a more secluded area.

Up ahead she knew of an old alleyway they could at least slip into to talk more freely. Most people didn't bother anyone who looked shady and if a cop showed up it would be a simple matter to get rid of them. But would Nicholai cooperate for that long?

Caroline let out a light laugh," The early bird catches the worm, beauty queen." With another chuckle added she took a sip of her water before nodding her head at Siennas statement.

"You are Crispin will get along fine. To be honest, his personality at times is what keeps us calm in tight squeezes."

Emi let a smile cover her lips. Sienna and Caroline spend most of their time being around Crispin, so she knew she could hold their words as truth. Scooting over a bit closer to Caroline she made room for Sienna to have a seat before pulling her legs up and under her to sit on them.

Caroline squinted her eyes in concentration."From here, I would say closer to ten," stretching out her legs she took another sip of water. "The park, huh?" Emi smiled at the thought. With work she hadn't found the time to get around to visiting the park. They had planted new assortments of flowers and she was eager to see them. When she turned her attention to the clock that hung about the front door, the nervous feeling began to slowly creep up again realizing how close the time was getting to go meet Crispin.

"So, what are we going to do in the mean time?," Emi passed a glance between the two girls. Caroline turned to glance at Sienna a grin on her face."I'm surprised we haven't heard any crazy boy stories yet, this must be a record!"Caroline teased. Emi let out a laugh before covering her mouth. It was no secret that Sienna attracted boys, like honey does bees, and the stores she told were never dull.

Nicholai took note of the way Athena kept searching through the crowd. Her words held truth, even if they had crossed paths, neither of them would have known.

"Tell me Athena, how many umbrella dogs are sniffing for my trail right now?" He studied her words for a moment before letting out a scoff, a smirk finding its way onto his face, "What kind of bone, would you have with umbrella?" He knew as well as any operative, They had a way of crawling underneath your skin.

Nicholai turned his attention the the children playing under the sun, the heat wasn't anything to unbearable, but it was still aggravating. Mixed conversations of the many people outside filled the air. Everything was lively. He narrowed his eyes before letting out a 'hmph'

Enjoy it.

He watched as their surroundings began to become more secluded. Coming to a stop in an abandoned ally way, Nicholai slipped his elbow from Athena's grasp, quickly crossing his arms over his chest, his left hand close to the concealed blade, in case he needed it. Taking the chance he began to study the copper haired girl that stood in front of him. Studying her stance, he could tell she was agitated about something. Her words were true about being ex U.S.S, her build gave that away.

Her face held an seldom look, making it difficult to read what she was thinking at the moment. Moving his grey orbs up, he came into contact with her own. Her eyes held rebellion, mischief, and anger. He knew those eyes all to well.

Leaning back against the wall, his gaze never left her.

"Now, Athena, why would luck have it that our meeting is just that?" His voice was a bit condescending when he spoke, pushing that thought away he waited for her reply. Maybe, she would be of some use to him.

Chuckling Sienna waved her hand dismissively at Caroline. Of course she'd pull that argument! "Well you can have all the worms ya like then, hun," she teased.

Nodding at Caroline's words, Sienna couldn't help but to recall the Raccoon City incident. She was sure that if Crispin hadn't been there at the time they might have lost their cool with all the weird mutations running around alone. Sienna still had unsavory dreams about that night to this day.

Quickly shaking the thoughts away she added, "He's got a way with keepin' things low key."

Sienna sat back, crossing her legs. Emi seemed to grow more reassured of herself with their words as it was. At least that way they didn't have to worry about her feeling like she was saying or doing something wrong with Crispin. It wasn't a worry she needed to have considering how easygoing he could be as i was.

Blinking, she turned back to Caroline. Another chuckle escaped her and she shook her head. Here she had thought she bored them both with that sort of talk!

"Well if you're that interested..." she joked back, trailing off and pretending to think about it for a moment.

Alma couldn't help the amused snort that escaped her at the emphasis he placed on her alias. No doubt he was well aware of the U.S.S.'s branch of using codenames for their operatives to protect identities. She supposed it made sense that U.B.C.S. didn't use the same line of thinking, considering they were more out in the open than U.S.S. were.

"As far as I know?" she started, counting them out in her head. "Six that are sniffing around here."

She merely hummed in answer to his next question, blatantly not answering it for the time being. Alma didn't bother to glance up at him, to see his expression. Whatever was flitting through his head was a mystery to her. Nicholai was the type of man to always have some sort of a hidden agenda as it was.

Once inside the alleyway, the shadows helped to cool them off. Alma took the time to catch Nicholai's gaze. He was eyeing her, taking her in no doubt. A hand found its way to her hip as she waited for him to finish his appraisal. Though his arms were folded over his chest like that Alma had no doubt that he had some sort of a weapon in easy reach if he felt threatened.

"You have information vital to Umbrella, information that would be... put to better use against them," Alma answered carefully, watching him for any sort of a reaction. "I could use that information."

She glanced out the alleyway again. No one shady caught her attention but that didn't mean someone wasn't nearby and could catch sight of them soon. Turning her attention back to Nicholai she carried on.

"They've been sending some of their better agents after you, Ginovaef. You're lucky I'm better."

Taking one look at Sienna, Caroline knew exactly what was going through her head. The same thoughts went through her's at times. Raccoon city had left a scar on all of them. Never again did she want that to happen.

Emi nodded her head as Sienna spoke, "He sounds like a really good person." She couldn't deny she was growing more eager to meet him know, thanks to Caroline and Siennas reassuring words. Emi touched her chest gingerly with her finger tips, have a mock lock of surprise on her face. "Us, passing up a chance to hear on of your stories? Never! Right Caroline?"

Emi turned to look to face her. Caroline was staring at the floor as if in a daze. "Hey, Caroline? Are you okay?" Hearing the question Caroline looked up at Emi before breathing in and stretching her arms out, they were beginning to get a little stiff. Nodding her head she looked up at the clock.

"I hope you can tell stories walking as good as you can tell them sitting down." She joked before standing up and walking to the kitchen, placing her empty cup into the sink. Looking at the clock Emi could feel the knots starting again in her stomach. She took one deep breath before letting it out, trying to calm her nerves. Standing up from the couch, she stretched her arms above her head before bringing the down and grabbing Siennas hands with her own. "I guess it's time."

Emi began pulling her up off the couch. Caroline walked next to her, this was going to be a fun day.

Nicholai scoffed a bit at the numbers. Were they becoming that desperate? Letting out a breath he relaxed a bit in their surroundings. The cool air was refreshing from the constant beat down of the heat.

Nicholai felt his body shake from the laughter building up before he let it out, shaking his head he uncrossed his right arm, bringing up to eye level for her before rocking his index finger back and forth. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. That information is going to cost you, BUT- He paused for a moment allowing a smirk to cover his features.- I am in a generous mood." He waited for a moment taking in her reaction.

"You want revenge,- He motioned his right hand towards her before bringing it back to him- so do I." He took a moment letting his words sink in. He knew how to set bait, he also knew just by the look that Athena was intelligent. So was he, he just had to make the bait more acceptable to her.

Sienna nodded in answer to Emi's assessment of Crispin. If all went well the two would hit it off. Sienna supposed they wouldn't know for sure until the two met, however.

"You're makin' me blush here, sugar!" Sienna teased, shaking her head. "And all those times ya just nodded and smiled as I talked were just me imagin' things, eh?"

It was all in good humor though Sienna couldn't pass up the chance to pick at Caroline and Emi back. Caroline didn't seem to be listening, that look flitting across her face. Sienna knew that look well. It was the very same look she sometimes caught on her own face when she looked in the mirror after waking from a nightmare.

Caroline seemed to shake it off easily enough after Emi prodded at her for her silence. Sienna shook her head, allowing Emi to help her to her feet. Glancing at the clock nearby it did look like it was time to head out to meet Crispin.

"Don't you go worryin' again now," she told Emi, patting her shoulder as Caroline began to lead the way. "Gettin' all fussed about meetin' a new boy isn't gonna do you any wonders."

Alma's brow raised as Nicholai began to talk. She had been anticipating this sort of behavior after reading his file, at least what parts she had managed to dig up. She had some money stashed away though that was for emergencies. Nicholai Ginovaef did not fit the bill of an 'emergency.' Everything else was false credit cards and IDs.

"You said it yourself," she answered, shifting her weight to one leg, "we want the same thing. So why hash out payment now?"

She wasn't about to throw down a price and risk running him off as it was. No doubt he wanted something high, even if he was in a 'generous' mood. Alma had to resist scoffing at that.

The bag around her shoulders was beginning to feel heavy, the strap digging into her shoulders. Inside was her gear, the smaller stuff. Everything else was back at the hotel she was staying in at the moment. If anything turned south she'd be able to slip away and put on some of her smaller gear - gas mask and the like - and be able to fight back easily.

Emi closed and locked the door to her apartment. After slipping the key into her pocket she fell into step with Sienna and Caroline, taking a left the began to make their way down the stairs that would lead to the front entrance of the building.

Emi gave a chuckle, "Of course you were just seeing that honey pot, our days aren't made better until we've heard one of your crazy boy stories." Emi gave Sienna one of her innocent looks before Caroline spoke up.

"Speaking of- passing a slide glance to Emi, she watched as she turned her attention to her.- If things work out, we'll be waiting to hear your stories." Caroline teased before stepping of the last step on the solid ground. They began to make their way down the hallway to the door that would lead outside.

"What makes you think I'm going to share?-Emi teased before helping push the door open. The humid air hitting her quick. Letting out a 'phew' she began to fan herself with her hand.- The weren't kidding about this heat, huh?" Emi couldn't let it get to her too much, a smile growing on her face watching everyone who chattered walking by on the sidewalk, and the kids who played in the grassy section, it was a beautiful day. She was glad she was able to spend it with her friends.

Listening to Sienna, Emi made a sour face before smiling again, "I will be fine- Quickly, she locked her arms with theirs pulling them closer- I will have you two with me."

Caroline raised her brows, holding back the chuckle. She like, Sienna, and Emi, loved having her fair share of teasing."You think so, huh? I think Sienna and I might just leave you two alone together."Caroline quickly winked at Sienna knowing she couldn't resist jumping onto this teasing train.

Nicholai's face turned into a look of amusement. "I don't think you could match my asking price, but we will discuss that at a later time."

Standing up straight Nicholai began to sketch out a plan, his smirk coming back quickly to his face before he began to pace back and forth. He kept his voice to a low whisper before speaking, glancing around to make sure no one was around.

"I just so happen to have a sample with me.- He paused for a moment taking in Athenas reaction- this- he gestured towards her with his left hand- is where you come in."

Nicholai turned his gaze to her backpack. She wasn't carrying just small items with her, she wouldn't have needed a bag that size if so. She has planned ahead.

Smart girl

"I can only assume your gear is in your bag, that is most excellent seeing as you are about to need it. The sample I have is in my apartment, I can assume since none of the, dogs,- He spoke the word with great disgust- found me there, then it was not in the information that you obtained, means they don't know where to find it. I need you to go there and retrieve it for me, they will be expecting me, not you."

He stopped his pacing to stand in front of her, his gaze now focused on her. "Knowing umbrella, the dogs, are being monitored. Good. I propose we give them,-His smirk turned sinister- a treat"

His tone was dangerous. She wanted to help, she would do just that.

"Unless, your talking of being better was, how would you put it, -moving his right hand to his chin he looked up as if in thought before turning his attention back to Athena- all talk." He hopped his taunting would have rubbed a nerve, giving her a smirk he waited for her reply.

Sienna waited patiently for Emi to lock up her door before she started alongside Caroline back for the front door. It wouldn't be long before they were out in the afternoon heat again and Sienna was doing her best to enjoy the air conditioned atmosphere inside.

A chuckle escaped her painted lips, shaking her head. "Well, I s'pose I'll have to entertain ya'll with more later!"

Emi's apartment hadn't been far up, just on the second floor, in fact. Already they had reached the bottom step and Caroline was making her way towards the door, opening it and allowing the other two to follow after.

"Lord knows Crispin won't share a thing!" Sienna added, tossing a teasing smile Emi's way.

Emi was a quick one to reply, already commenting on the heat. Sienna couldn't help but to chuckle again. Something like this could have been much worse. She shared a knowing look with Caroline, days where they had been training in full military gear in heat like this coming to mind.

Surprise colored her face for a second as Emi linked her arms with theirs, tugging them along towards the park. It wasn't hard to keep up, even if her pace was a little quicker than earlier. Sienna smiled, glad that Emi seemed eager to meet Crispin, despite her nervousness.

"Might get a little misty-eyed at each other if things go right," she teased right along with Caroline.

Her brow raised again at the amused smirk on Nicholai's face. Was the prospect of money really that entertaining? Alma shook her head at that, unsure how to interpret his glee.

"Ah, up to incurring debts from women, are we?" she scoffed lightly, inclining her head to one side. None-the-less she let him carry on, taking in what he provided.

Though his voice was kept low, conspiratorially so, Alma couldn't help but to note the way he grew much more animated now that he spoke of what he had planned. Or, rather, pieces of what he had planned. Alma wasn't disillusioned to the fact that he would be keeping more important bits to himself if he saw fit.

And then he was sizing her up again, that appraising look back on his face. Alma still waited patiently, hand on her hip and weight steadied on one leg until he was quite finished. Funny, I had pegged him for a quiet one, she mulled over for a moment.

"Baiting the hook some more, are we?" she pressed, inclining her head briefly as she did so. Alma shook her head afterwards. Now wasn't quite the time for any sort of playing around. "And just where have you hidden this sample of yours, Ginovaef? Or is that part of your game, too?"

He clearly hadn't known that anyone had been sent after him, not yet anyhow. Still, he was a cautious man and that much Alma could gather from this conversation itself. For him to have it hidden away from his person didn't surprise her though it also wouldn't shock her if he made a game out of this, seeing how good her skills were by making her 'sniff it out' instead of giving her the direct location.

Well, if that's the case then two can play at that game, she decided, waiting for his answer. Already Alma had a sort of 'game' in mind, one that would no doubt peak his interest with the promise of money to be had at the end of this mess.

"Our days aren't complete until you tell us one."

Caroline joked before the hit the end of the sidewalk they were walking on, the highway cutting in between them and the other side like a black sea. To the left of them a wooden post stood, with two post's hanging down, tied to the longer one by white thread. An arrow pointed to the left and to the right. Under the left arrow read, 'Up town, Library, School.' while the right side read, 'Park, downtown, hospital'

Emi checked her left side, then her right before making sure no vehicles were coming, stepping across she quickly dragged Caroline and Sienna with her. Hitting the other side she slowed down a bit. Caroline looked at her with a raised brow.

"Are you trying to rip out arms off? We know your excited and all, but try to keep it down a bit."

Emi could feel her face warm up, turning to say something she quickly forgot what she was going to say. Looking down a ally way she could see two people, one was obviously a girl, she had her back turned and the other had grey hair. "Is that-" She quickly shook the thought away. She thought her neighbor was strange, but he wasn't that strange to hang out in a place like that.

"What was that Em?" Emi turned her attention to Caroline before making a deep frown and shaking her head. "Just saying how crazy my two best friends are is all." She teased. She watched as everyone they passed looked happy. In front of her the gates to the park could be viewed.

There already?

On one of the benches a man was seated. Emi could feel her throat tighten up a bit.

"pst.. you think we have time to grab some tissue before this grand meeting?" Caroline asked Sienna. She had no doubt everything was going to go fine.

"Only if the fish will bite, of course." Nicholai quickly answered before making his way back over to the wall, quickly leaning back into it, arms crossed again. He gave a chuckle at her words.

"I see you are good on following Intel- so I'm going to give you a set of clues, and you will seek the sample out." He wanted to see if her skills were as good as she claimed. She did tho, he came to conclusion with, have some good skills, Athena did find him after all.

He knew better than to have something like that on his person. Instead he had it hidden until it was the right time to use it. At her mention of 'games' a smirk covered his lips yet again, drawing him out of thought.

"You look like games are up your alley, so to say Athena. I assure you tho- He paused for a moment standing to his full height- the prizes to be received from this are of great value."

Finished with speaking he looked down at his watch.

"Let me know when you are ready to play."

He was about to truly test her skills, what he found odd was he was feeling a bit excited about it."

Sienna and Caroline didn't get the chance to check the street for traffic; Emi had it covered and was already dragging both girls along the pathway before either had turned to look the other way. Giggling, Sienna prodded Emi's shoulder.

"Don't get too bashful now, sug'!" she teased.

Emi had started to speak only to trail off. Curious, Sienna turned to the other girl, brow raised. She was craning her neck back, trying to see something they'd passed by in one of the alleys. Sienna cocked her head, tucking her hair behind her ear as she did.

"Somethin' caught yer eye?"

Whatever the other woman had seen Emi wasn't speaking up about it. Sienna shook the possibilities from her head. Now wasn't the time and it seemed like it hadn't bothered Emi all that much to want to talk about it. Sienna wouldn't prod her about it if she didn't need to. Besides, the park's gates were already coming into view.

Crispin hadn't been waiting for long or rather it didn't feel like it. He had come a little early, as he always did when he was meeting up with someone, and had found a little bench to sit on. Sienna and Caroline would be able to find him easily when they got here with their friend.

He heard them before he caught sight of them, Sienna calling out to him, and he was quick to rise to his feet, nodding a greeting to them. "Erez told me to say we need to have another night out, just the squad sometime soon."

Smiling he held out a hand towards the unfamiliar woman, her name only known to him because of Caroline and Sienna mentioning her more and more often lately. "You must be Emi," he noted amicably. "I'm Crispin."

Alma shook her head. "You're awfully cocky for someone with Umbrella hounds on his ass," she noted.

She couldn't stop the scoff that escaped her. They were on a time limit here, however much time they had was unknown but it wouldn't be long until someone that Umbrella had sent went rooting around his apartment and followed whatever trail they could to him. If Alma lost the information he had...

"Prizes, huh? Surprising from someone of your... reputation," Alma pointed out. Still, she couldn't deny the idea of a challenge catching her attention. Her hand found its way under her chin, the other hugging her middle as she thought it over briefly.

Already he was checking his watch. Does he have something specific planned? Alma's gaze narrowed at that. Still, she supposed it wouldn't hurt to haggle a little before she received whatever clues he gave.

"That fits in nicely for what I had planned as... payment. Why don't we make this a little more interesting for you as well?" Only when she was sure that she had his attention did she continue on. "We'll make this game of yours double-sided. For however long our little... job... carries on I'll give you things to figure out, if you can manage I'll add more to your payment at the end. Sound like a deal?"

It seemed like he'd bite at that kind of bait. It'd keep things more interesting as they went anyways. It wasn't often that Alma got the chance to 'play' with anyone. Usually it was in and out, problems solved via shooting.

"Now, about those clues of yours?" she prodded.

Looking in the direction Emi had glanced off at she didn't noticed anything that particularly caught her eye. Shrugging her free shoulder, she took note of the park entrance coming closer to view.

Emi could feel her nerves begin to work up again as they approached Crispin. Her throat going dry.

He is handsome.

She noted watching as he, Sienna, and Caroline greeted each other, listening as he relayed the message he had received from their friend Erez. Caroline nodded her head as he spoke."That sounds like a plan. We just need to get it set up."After answering she moved a little closer to Sienna, giving Emi a reassuring smile.

Extending her hand she took Crispin's offered hand into her own, smiling back she cleared her throat, nodding her head a bit. "It's nice to meet you. I've been hearing a lot about you."

Caroline bit the inside of her mouth as they watched."She is getting nervous." She spoke low enough for Sienna to hear.

Nicholai raised a brow. "I'm confident in my skills." He replied, his accent coming out thick, laced in his words.Narrowing his eyes he noticed she was a little agitated.

What is going through her head.

Sitting up straight he gave a scoff as he moved closer. "Even prizes come with a price." He listened to her 'game' proposition a deep chuckle escaping him. Clever girl He didn't see the harm in playing, noting the question he would get right would equal a better profit for him.

"Now who is setting bait?- he took a moment to think it over again.- Why not, if it keeps our game, interesting. Now- beginning to walk to the back of the alley way he motioned for Athena to follow him by lifting his hand. He could appreciate her eagerness to get started.-

"You'll find what you seek in this house of Knowledge.

Don't be afraid to let your curiosity roam,

You will find your answers, beyond the looking glass."

Placing a hand on one of the rings of the ladder he motioned up with his head.

"We should get a move on."

"I'm sure Erez will be all for planning it out," he answered.

It didn't go beyond Crispin's notice that Sienna and Caroline had stepped back from Emi. Whether she noticed or not was another questioned, even as she took his offered hand. His hand seemed to engulf hers, the skin on skin contact a little strange after having grown so used to wearing his gloves all of the time.

"I've heard a lot about you, too," Crispin chuckled, tossing a look to the other two girls's way. They only tossed him amused looks in return. He could see Sienna say something to Caroline behind her hand though he could not make out what the words were from the distance.

"I'm sure she'll do fine!" Sienna reassured behind her hand, tossing another look Emi's way. "If not we'll run backup, sug'."

Crispin dropped his hand to his side, relaxing a bit. He was so used to standing at attention, to making sure he looked immaculate that he sometimes forgot it was a little odd for others to see him standing so straight and still. It was always a bit strange to be out with civilians, however.

"I hope you can show me around this area," he offered, "I haven't been down this way before."

True enough he usually stuck closer to the base unless he had to go somewhere with one of his squad mates. Other than that Crispin usually had his hands full.

"I'd be concerned if you weren't," Alma admitted. True enough, mercs like them didn't get on if they weren't sure of themselves and what they could do. No one wanted to hire someone who didn't look or act like they knew what they were doing.

A pleased look crossed her face briefly at the mention of her setting the bait now. Looks like we have something in common then, Alma decided to herself. She didn't need to make any mentions of that to him.

She listened raptly to his clue, her brow furrowing as she turned the information over in her head. Alma almost scoffed at it, shaking her head. "Great, so now you're a poet," she muttered under her breath.

A scoff did escape her when he took to leading the way, heading up an old fire escape ladder. Still, she started up after him, only after she had tossed him a look. Even if he was the one who knew where this sample was, had that information she needed Alma had been the one to come find him and, in a roundabout way, save him. In her mind she should be the one calling the shots.

No good arguin' about it, she mulled.

"Hey, you were the one who was content to talk so much," she pointed out instead.

Nodding her head Caroline could already imagine what Erez had worked up as a plan. She figured a night of drinks wouldn't hurt anyone of them.

Lifting her head up Caroline covered her face in the same fashion as Sienna as they chattered, quickly glancing away with an amused look on her face at. Her and Sienna had all but busted their asses to get this set up, of course they were going to ensure everything went right with the information being delayed.

Giving a 'hm' Caroline lifted up her free hand, quickly making a fist, "Exactly, for now I say we just sit back and enjoy this while we can."

Emi noticed the slight change in Crispins posture. She let out a breath, him not being so stiff made her relax a bit, making her feel less nervous. From what she heard from the girls, he was always working and never really took the time to relax, so she figured that was just a force of habit.

A smile found it's way to her face, "Of course all the tell is good things, right?" She teased letting out a light laugh. Crossing her arms she scrunched her brows together trying to figure what interesting place she could take him first. The area was pretty big, so she figured finding out what interested him she could take him that way first.

"I think I can manage that. So.. any place in particular you would be interested in seeing first?" She cleared her throat lightly after asking. Clenching her hands together she began to notice how clamy they were becoming.

Just relax Uncrossing her arms she quickly rubbed her hands on her shorts while waiting for Crispin to think it over. She looked beside her and had to take a second glance when she saw Sienna and Caroline standing a few feet away. Giving them a funny look she decided that shaking her head would be best at the moment.
"Those two can be strange at times." She stated.

"You wanted information." He reasoned, stepping up to the top of the roof, making his way to the edge. Looking down he began to scan the crowd of people, the streets were busier than usual today. A man catching his attention, he was studying peoples faces, and looking around.

"Hmmm.. seems a hound has been found." He mentioned watching as Athena moved closer. He didn't anticipate them being this close. No problem, it just made their game even more interesting.

Crossing his arms he passed a glance Athena's way, "So when do we begin your game?" Uncrossing his arms he took a step back, scanning the area to planning a new route to course. He didn't see the point in running into unnecessary complications, they would have enough time for that later.

Glancing back over Athena's way, he to note of her saving him some time and trouble.

Sienna glanced at Caroline again, taking note of the look that crossed her face. No doubt she was thinking about Erez's plans. If he had his way they'd probably be heading out to the bar over the weekend if they were all free. Caroline would probably be contacting him soon to set something up if nothing else happened.

A hushed chuckle passed Sienna's lips again, shaking her head. "Sug, who'd have thought you'd be so into this?"

Really, Sienna had been prepared for Caroline to just sit by and watch it pan out without much comment. This unforeseen side of Caroline was enough to amuse Sienna alone.

It seemed just relaxing his stance helped to put Emi more at ease. Crispin's smile grew at this, glad that she wasn't so high strung. First impressions were everything but he didn't want to see the poor woman struggling to not say or do the wrong things because of something on his end.

"Hmm," Crispin answered shortly, cocking his head to the side as he thought it over.

"Oh, honey, if you let Crispin have his way you'll end up at the gym faster 'n you can blink!" Sienna joked.

Crispin tossed her a look, though he couldn't erase the amusement off his face at that. He supposed that was true enough. Rubbing the back of his neck he said, "Come on, now! I can't stay in shape if I slack off!"

He turned back to Emi, more at ease himself. At least Sienna and Caroline were willing to pitch in if things slowed down — for now at least. They could just slip away without notice once they thought the two were comfortable enough. Crispin resisted scoffing at that.

"Well, why don't you show me the places you like first?" he offered, wanting to get to know Emi along the way. What better way than to see what places she liked? The way Sienna glanced at Caroline with that smile on her face Crispin liked to guess he was doing something right.

"True as that may be," Alma retorted, pulling herself up onto the sun-baked roof after Nicholai. "You're the one who carried on so much!"

She crouched at the edge of the roof near him. While he might have been alright with standing like that, Alma didn't want to get caught so easily — at least not until she had this sample of his in hand. There were a few shady people in the crowds, but in large cities like this that was a given. Still, it seemed Nicholai was able to pick out one of the Umbrella operatives mingling in the throng of people along the sidewalk.

Gesturing away from that one and to another, partners perhaps, she mentioned, "Looks like there's more of them slinking around the area for you."

The way they looked around rather than up told her enough, however. For the moment they were safe from prying eyes.

Her gaze darted up towards Nicholai when he mentioned her game again. She couldn't stop the smirk that fell into place as she turned back to the streets below. Seemed he was eager to earn some cash.

"Well, eager for the fun part, are we?" Alma shook her head. "I'll give you two to figure out for the time being. The first will be a long standing challenge for you, for as long as we're partners you'll have a chance to win the other you'll have until I find your little sample to guess."

Alma paused, allowing that to sink in. She stood then, stepping away from the edge of the roof. It was hotter up here than down below, the shade of the buildings no longer keeping her cooler. Alma wouldn't mention it, even if she wiped some sweat from her forehead.

"The first for a healthy sum of a grand; what is my name?" she questioned, well aware that he did not know her real name. Much of her information had been wiped or blacked out upon joining Umbrella's U.S.S. ranks as some others had, though not completely. If he was good he'd figure it out. "As for the second, for two hundred if you figure it out; how old was I when I joined Umbrella?"

Caroline turned her head to the side giving Sienna and amused glance."Of course I am excited about this.- A smile quickly covering her lips.- You can't tell me you aren't the least bit either."

She retorted raised both eyebrows in an playful manner. Sienna might have been hiding her excitement a little bit more, but she knew as soon as the could leave them be the chipper blonde would show it more.

Her smile grew again as she gave their leader and approving nod. For not going out much, he seemed to be handling himself pretty well, of course her and Sienna would be there to help them in some situations. For now she will sit back and enjoy

Emi could feel her face start to warm up when Crispins smile grew. Hearing Siennas and Crispins playful banter she could help the giggles that escaped her mouth before quickly covering it.

"I'll have to remember that." Her voice held a matter of factly tone. Her smile grew wider at his suggestion, "Well, the first place I would like to take you is actually the center of the park." Emi began to become more animated as she spoke. She honestly didn't know how Crispin felt about viewing flowers, but now that she was given the chance she wasn't going to pass it up, plus, she decided, it would give Sienna and Caroline a break from hearing about her flower talk.

"They have a huge garden here in the center of the park! It's filled with fountains, and they changed up their selection. So all the flowers in this year are brand new.- Emi turned her glance at Crispin before pursing her lips to the left- that is, if you don't mind me taking you to see them."

Emi could lose herself when it came to interests at times, and she would forget at times. She didn't know if she should take the lead now or let Crispin. Turning her head in the girls direction, Caroline caught her confused look. Lifting her left hand up she moved it in a 'go' motion while giving her a reassuring smile.

Nodding her head, Emi turned her attention back to Crispin, "You ready?" She asked with a small smile, when he gave his answer she began to walk in the direction they needed to take with him beside her.

"You ready cowgirl? The kids are on the move." Caroline teased before walking in step with Sienna after the two.

"Good thing they are too stupid to look up." He commented before watching her back away from the ledge. Giving an amused 'humph' Nicholai watched as Athena turned to face him. "You know my reputation,- he stated simply before continuing.- given the right 'fun' and game to play to make things more interesting, you should be shocked at how much eagerness I have to get started."

His smirk quickly leaving his face as he felt beads of sweat start to roll down his neck. He looked at the position of the sun, it was starting to position closer to the west. Even tho the sun was starting to lower a bit, the humid air was anything but savory. His attire wasn't helping to much to keep him cool. Uncrossing his arms he quickly rolled his sleeves up to his forearms.

He gave an amused smirk at Athena's choice of words. Crossing his arms again he began to make his way to the far left corner of the roof top where a fire escape lead up to the next building they needed to be at.

Her name

It was true, for the time being they were partners, Athena knew his name, so it was game to figure out hers. He began to think as they climbed up the steps. He began to study the details of her facial features, the bone structure, placement of her eyes, as well as her iris color.

"From this line of work, when choosing code names, people tend to stick close to the letters close to the original.." He couldn't go by last name to decide what ethnic background she fitted into. Seeing as he didn't have a first either, he had to use the next thing he could. Her grey eyes.

He found that they were common in Russia, Ireland, as well as Scotland. Next he took to studying her complexion. He took notice of the porcelain color of her skin.

Nicholai began to take in her personality. She was feisty, she was a bit hotheaded, that was made obvious by her impatience. He could also rule out that she was stubborn. Reaching the last step that led to a small square of flat surface he held his arm out to stop her from moving.

"It starts with an A.. a name as powerful as Athena, I figured you would chose something from your first... I want to say Ailisia." He waited a moment for her reaction before moving on to her next question. This time Nicholai let Athena take the lead.

He knew most operatives joined young. Umbrella giving them the prospect of 'Taking care of you for helping our cause.' Nicholai shook his head at that, a disgusted scoff soon followed. They lured operatives with the promises of easy money, not really telling them what dangers they were in for. It was on them if they survived. Not many were cut out for this job, but staring at the woman in front of him he could see that she had the will.

"Nineteen" He answered before turning his attention to the sun, it was slowly making it's way a little more to the west. Hitting the third floor, they had four more to climb to make it to the roof.

Sienna shook her head, peeking at the two again. "Maybe, maybe not," she answered Caroline coyly in a hushed voice.

Crispin couldn't ignore the way Caroline and Sienna were smiling and nodding at him. He had to resist shaking his head at that, well aware that it might put Emi off if she thought he was being fed information as some joke or something. He really did want to get to know here, after all.

He chuckled when Emi made a note of his gym habit. Of course Sienna would have pointed that out. Crispin supposed some might have assumed as much anyways, given his build.

As Emi spoke up, eager to show him the park's gardens and fountains and the like, Crispin couldn't help but to admire the look on her face. She seemed so much brighter and happier just to go look at some flowers. His own smile grew at that and he gestured for her to take the lead.

"I've got a gardener on my hands then, huh?" he deduced. In the city it would be hard to do any sort of gardening. If that was the case then Crispin figured she made do with what the parks had growing instead.

Sienna traipsed along after Crispin and Emi as they started off, tossing Caroline a look. "Time to get to babysittin'!"

The day was still warm but with the park's trees to give them shade it wasn't so bad. People milled about, sitting on benches or talking to one another. A few were walking there dogs and Sienna spied one with a cat on a thin little leash as they wandered through the park.

Alma snorted at his comment. Of course they wouldn't look up, what need would they have to? Unless something noisy or flashy was happening most didn't feel the need or want to do so. So long as none of the little kids walking around with their parents didn't glance up looking at clouds or for airplanes and pointed them out instead then they'd be alright.

"Maybe knowing your rep is what gives me the chance to yank you around," she prodded rather teasingly as she stood and followed after him.

If nothing else then he was most likely leading her nearer to the sample without going directly to the hiding spot. It would give her the opportunity to glance around and see what places were in the area that might be good for hiding a vial.

She wasn't able to get a glance at his face as they traveled higher, using the next building's fire escape ladder to do so. The quiet only told her that he was most likely trying to piece things together, trying to earn himself a hefty price when it was all said and done.

Alma turned the his clue over and over in her head, trying to pick it apart. House of knowledge? The fuck is that supposed to be? Alma had never been great at riddles, a weak point that she was well aware of. As such no matter how many different ways she looked at it she couldn't figure that part out. Instead she moved on.

Looking glass, that has to be something with Alice in Wonderland, she decided almost immediately. It had been a story she'd liked before, the idea of it. Alma liked to pick up any sort of media that pertained to Lewis Carrol's books because of it.

Her attention broke as Nicholai spoke up as they reached the third floor platform on the ladder. She wasn't sure how he planned on getting them across when they did finally hit the rooftop. He didn't look like the type to like free running or even be very adept at it.

"Ailisia?" she echoed, brow raised. "Please, did you even try?"

Alma shook her head. His other answer was better though it hadn't been a difficult one. "You at least have two hundred coming your way by the end of this mess," she provided, gesturing for him to keep going. Alma paused a beat, mulling it over before she carried on, "Wouldn't have pegged you for an Alice in Wonderland fan, however."

“Hmm.-Caroline passed Sienna a side glance as they walked behind the two- if I had to bank on an answer, I would choose the first.” She teased. She watched the people that milled around them, shaking her head at the owners walking a cat on a leash.

Emi nodded with a smile on her face. “That you do, it‘s very peaceful and relaxing, you know? Besides, if you have pesky weeds now all you have to do is give me the word and I‘ll take care of them no problem.” She joked before watching the people that surrounded them.

Many of them were either relaxing on towels with books in their hands, sitting on benches watching children play and chatting, or joining the fun with their kids. Emi looked to the right at the trees that shadows covered the pathway they were walking, watching as the speckles of light cut through the emerald leaves. She turned to glance at Crispin before asking him some questions.

“So, the military huh? Why did you chose that as a career?” Emi asked, she didn’t want to question to come off as sounding rude or anything, but she had been curious as to why. Coming to the stairs she grabbed the railing before walking down them then heading forward.

Bee’s and butterflies lazily floated around, giving way that they were coming closer to the garden.

Caroline gave a light laugh. “If the kiddos behave, I might take us all out for ice cream.” She joked. Caroline glanced between all the people, until one person caused her to do a double take. A man in a black suit looked almost confused, as if he was looking for something or someone, glancing at male’s faces as they passed by him.

“What do you think that’s about?” She doing a quick tilt of her head in the mans direction.

Nicholai let out a grunt of amusement at Athena’s words. “No, I pulled the answer out of my ass. Athena, will be the name that sticks.” He commented before they began walking up the stairs again, getting closer to the top.
He shrugged at her comment of gaining the extra two hundred. “It’s not hard guessing what age operative’s join. You don’t peg me as someone that would just drop out of school to rush off to do this kind of work.”

He nodded his head. “I love to read good literature. Through the looking glass, is one of my favorite pieces. It is good to broaden your mind, even if it seems obscure.” Reaching the top of the building he crossed his arms before giving Athena an amused glance. “I think it’s time for you to take point in our, game, no?” An amused smirk now covered his lips as he waited for her next move.

Crispin chuckled, sparing a smile in Emi's direction. She was more than glad to share her hobby. He was almost a little bummed he had no garden of his own. If this all worked out it would have been something he could have used as an excuse to invite her over. He supposed it was the downside to living on base.

"I'll be sure to keep that in mind," he said instead.

It didn't take long for her to start prodding him about his own life. He shrugged, sparing another cursory glance around them. It was such a nice day, even if muggy. So many people had ventured outside to enjoy the sun and to spend time with each other. It was a nice sight after all that time spent training and brushing up on his skills and knowledge.

His gaze drifted back to Emi, forgetting about Sienna and Caroline trailing along behind them some ways. They'd been more or less silent enough that he'd not heard any sort of conversation from the two women. It was easy to forget though he'd later apologize for it if it was brought to his attention.

"I suppose I wanted to do some good in the world," he answered with a shrug. "Military seemed like a good opportunity to."

As Emi lead them down a little staircase more and more bees and butterflies circled around in the air. A couple he could spy landing on flowers he didn't know the names of. There were all sorts of colors though they were spaced out here.

Sienna chuckled, shaking her head. "Oh don't get them excited about ice cream now!" she teased back.

It wasn't until Caroline pointed out a nearby man, immaculately dressed and looking highly baffled by something or other, did her attention drift from Emi and Crispin's date. She could feel her eyebrows knit together, confusion bubbling up in her chest. That didn't look normal though Sienna couldn't place why exactly.

"Looks a little strange don't ya think, sugar?" she murmured back, lowering her voice further. "Think somethin's funny around here?"

Alma couldn't help but to feel a little smug about Nicholai's answer. He couldn't peg her name, not now at least. True he had more than enough time to try and figure it out but it would not be easy. She had kept her name secret for so long now... She shook the thought away, now wasn't the time for that.

"Well, admitting defeat on that, are we?" she prodded none-the-less. If he wanted that money he wouldn't but he could very well decide to focus on the smaller 'challenges' to up his paycheck at the end of it all.

She waved him off. Of course he'd rebut her 'praise.' Alma resisted snorting at that. She'd just keep it more low key then. Why waste the effort if he wouldn't play along?

Grunting she said, "Fantasy keeps the mind on its toes." It was as much of an agreement to what he had said in regards to the book that Alma would come to.

A passive glance was shot his way, brow raised. So he was pressuring her to answer quickly, was he? Alma grunted again, turning away and thinking the clue through. She was never great at riddles. If anything they could very well be her downfall one day. If he was referencing a book, however...

Alma started them off in the direction she knew a library to be. It was nearer to the school, perhaps designed that way for a purpose. Alma never questioned such things. It never did anyone any good anyways.

"I suppose it is," she agreed lightly, sticking to the rooftops. At least this way she'd be able to see what sort of shape Nicholai was still in all these years after Raccoon City.

Emi turned her attention to Crispin. Taking in his answer she nodded her head.

"That is very admirable. -She turned her attention back to what was in front of her so she wouldn't walk into anyone or anything on accident.- Every accomplished mission, or missions that you did that helped bring a safer calm to a place just adds more to the purpose you set out to do."

Emi turned her attention back to Crispin, giving him a warm smile. She couldn't help but smile. He was a man that honed an great amount of respect about him. She could see why people would be drawn to him.

Glancing back a bit she could see Caroline and Sienna caught up in a conversation of their own.

"Look mama, this one is shaped like a star!"

Emi turned her attention forward, she could see the star gazer lily the child had grown excited about. In front of them laid a wonderland of flowers. The colors spread out to look like a quilt that blanketed the park. The different aromas greeted her nose.

She noticed the smiles on everyone's faces that admired the beauty of the many flowers. Emi couldn't help but join. Being in places that were serene like this always brought her a sense of calmness.

"So, do you want a fun flower lesson? Free of charge." Emi joked. Looking up she recoiled back a bit letting a bee fly past her.

"And you're not?" Caroline joked as Sienna played off about those two being excited about ice cream. Caroline couldn't lie that even she was getting a little eager at the chance to get some, the humidity was starting to be something else.

She turned her glance back to the man of topic.

"That is does. I think keeping an eye on him while we are in the area wouldn't hurt."

In her line of work, Caroline knew to trust a gut instinct. If something sent to red alert that was something to keep an eye on. Common sense could rule out that this man was bad news as well.

"What would a man be doing dressed in a suit like that, when it is ninety eight degrees outside? Maybe if he was dressed in more casual clothing he wouldn't be sticking out like a sore thumb as bad. -She looked forward to ponder for a moment catching Emi's gaze-"

Letting out a sigh through her nose she began to quicken her steps a bit, making sure she didn't miss a step and fall as the two made their way down them.

"I guess three is a charm." Caroline muttered lowly for Sieanna to hear.

"I think after we view the flowers for a bit, we get something to drink." Caroline proclaimed while fanning herself off with her hand. Glancing over, she noticed the man was questioning a pass-byer that had crossed his path.

Nicholai raised his left brown a smirk of amusement plastered on his lips.

"Defeat? Why would I admit something that hasn't happened yet. Simply biding my time to answer your riddle." He replied before letting out a silent sight, inwardly cursing himself for wear such heavy clothing. The heat was beginning to agitate him a bit.

He watched as Athen chose to avoid the fire escape that would have lead to the busy street below.

'That's how we are choosing to play this.'

He mused to himself, having no doubt that she was analyzing his physical fitness. He had to admit it dwindled a bit after Raccoon city, having to maintain a low profile him leaving his room when only necessary.

"And what books would peak your interests? I could already tell mythology would be one of them." He teased while treading carefully over a plank that connected the building they were standing on to the building the needed to make their way over to.

Their destination began to grow closer. When both of them fell silent Nicholai decided to break the silence with a amused tone in his voice.

"Are we already finished with my 'earning extra bonuses' game?"

Swiping the back of his hand across his brow, he removed the wet substance that plastered its self onto him. It was as hot as hell, why not unleash it to give the full affect?

Crispin smiled and nodded in return as Emi did. At least she was listening. Some had it in their heads that he was some muscle head or something. It always bothered Crispin when people jumped to conclusions as to why he might have joined.

He couldn't help but to feel pride swell in his chest as Emi spoke on. It was a nice feeling and sometimes it felt like people took for granted the work the military did to keep them all safe. It was a nice change of pace in the end.

"When you say it like that I might get a little bashful!" Crispin joked, rubbing the back of his neck with his free hand.

Behind them he could still hear Sienna and Caroline speaking in hushed voices. He wouldn't pull them out of their conversation. It seemed they were all enjoying the day well enough anyways and it had been Crispin's understanding that the two ladies were merely playing the part to make sure things 'went just right'. Crispin hadn't asked for details, a little wary of what they thought might be 'just right'.

He blinked at Emi as she spoke up. Her attention was diverted, however, watching a fat bumblebee buzz on by. Crispin tipped his head to one side before he shrugged.

"Sure, why not?" he said. "What's today's flower lesson, Emi?"

Sienna chuckled, holding up her index finger and thumb a hairs breadth apart. "Maybe a little, darlin'," she admitted.

Her own gaze darted to that oddly placed man as Caroline's did. He was still looking around the crowds. What was he out here for? Surely he was much too hot in that suit! Sienna shook her head at that. Even in her shorts she felt too hot, surely he must be sweltering.

The odd choice in dress was perhaps their biggest tip off. Caroline had the right off it to keep their eye out on him. Crispin didn't need to be worried about it until there was cause for it for sure.

"Couldn't tell ya, honestly," Sienna said with a shrug, catching up with the other two.

Crispin blinked as Caroline called out. He spared a quick glance over his shoulder and nodded. It was odd to think that he didn't have a canteen on his belt to drink out of if he had to. Maybe he should have grabbed a bottle of water before meeting them out here.

"Sounds like a plan to me," he said.

Alma scoffed, shaking her head. At least the guy had drive. Too many she'd seen give up because they were lazy or the end deal wasn't enough motivation. Nicholai, at least, was predictable in that money was a driving factor.

As she got them moving again, taking to the roofs as best she could, Alma sneaked a glance or two Nicholai's way. Just how fit had he kept himself? He was older than her, after all, by quite a few years. Without any sort of steady merc work he might have let his physical fitness go.

For the time being he seemed to be keeping up all right. Alma wondered how long it would be before those heavy clothes of his might hinder him. He already looked like he was suffering a bit in the heat.

"Careful," she warned, perhaps a little teasingly. "Wouldn't want to get... attached, now would we?"

Alma shook her head, quiet for the moment as she mulled over the riddle he'd given. Where had he hid that damn thing at? Several minutes passed and Alma was no closer to the answer. By that time she'd already made her way across the large building roof they were on now, eyeing the distance between this one and the next.

"Horror. Thriller. At least usually," she answered.

Some time had passed again. Alma lost track of the time, she only really knew that it was far too hot out for this nonsense. They couldn't waste time, though. Alma needed to make sure that sample Nicholai had ran off with was procured and out of Umbrella's hands.

It was about the time when she started down another ladder to get to the streets (far less busy here then the other places) did Nicholai speak up. Alma blinked at him, already stepping onto the fire escape ladder. Mild surprise crossed her face. She scoffed in amusement then, a smirk crossing her lips.

"There will be plenty of time for your bonus questions," Alma said. "Giving them all to you now wouldn't be as fun!"

"You? Bashful? You don't seem the type." Emi teased a bit, starting to feel a bit more comfortable around him. She lightly fanned herself off as she started to glance at the many flowers that surrounded them.

Glancing back she could see Caroline and Sienna still trailing a few feet behind, they seemed to be caught in their own world at the moment. Letting out a low; "Hmm" She began to glance through one more until she found it pointing it out with her left index finger.

"The belladona -She began observing the light violet color petals and bright yellow stigma- or what is commonly know as deadly night shade. Very beautiful but very, very, poisonous. It's best not to handle it without the use of gloves." She paused for a moment squatting down to get a closer look at the flower.

"The sympthons that can occur if you eat any part of this plant, are dilated pupils, blurred vision, headaches, hallucinations, delirium and convulsions. Atropine, the toxin that is found in the belladona can kill a person by disrupting the nervous system’s ability to regulate breathing, sweating and heart rate. It's beautiful but very deadly." She finished before standing up straight again.

Caroline stood to the left side and Crispin and Emi. "Good, I've seen my fair share of heat as anyone, but this is enough to kill over in."

Emi nodded her head. "Something to drink does sound really nice right now, and we can come back to this later on when it cools off. You should see the gardens at night when they light everything up." She glanced around at the stores that lined the street.

"Which one do you want to go to?" She asked turning her attention back to Caroline. Emi was honestly fine with anything at the moment as long as it meant getting to cool off for a second.

Carolines gaze fell to the stores seeing a tiny ice cream shop that wasn't too far. "How about the ice cream shop?" Taking notice that the man was standing closer to that direction it would give her a Sienna the chance to ease drop without being obvious. "If that's fine with you three?" She asked a small smile on her face.

Emi turned her gaze to Sienna and Crispin, giving a nod of her head.

The operative in front of him wouldn't let anything slide for a second. He could admire that.

"Attached to your book preference would be a shame wouldn't it?" He teased back a light chuckle. He could feel sweat drip down the side of his face, and wondered why he didn't think or bringing water.

He nodded his head giving a light scuff in amusement. "Interesting choice." When they finally touched the ground he relished in the shade for a bit. Glancing down at his watch, they still had a bit of time before putting everything in motion.

"Maybe we should stop for a drink. It would be a shame to dehydrate and miss all the fun, no?" He taunted lightly before scanning the streets, making sure nothing out of the usual struck his senses.

He gave an amused 'hmm' at her reply to continue there game.

"That is true, wouldn't want to give you the chance to miss talking to me so soon."

Crispin shrugged, smiling at Emi as he did so. "I can be full of surprises, not all of them that interesting," he joked.

He watched as she glanced over her shoulder to their tag alongs. Caroline and Sienna seemed to have their heads together, glancing about and having their own conversation. At the very least they didn't seem annoyed or bored. At least there was that. Crispin had begun to worry that they'd shut them out on accident and had offended them.

Blinking he turned his attention back to Emi as she pointed to a nearby flower. They were a pretty flower he guessed, not one he'd look twice at, anyways. Still, Crispin listened, nodding as he absorbed the new information.

"Well, talk about a deceiving appearance," he said lightly, smiling to Emi.

Caroline had spoken up then, drawing attention to the heat again. He supposed eventually they'd need to draw back inside and away from it. There was only so much they'd be willing to take out of a mission.

"A galette sounds heavenly, actually," Sienna admitted, agreeing to the idea. Already her eyes were straying to the ice cream shop nearby. "Maybe you two lovebirds can share a cone!"

Crispin chuckled indulgently, already steering them back around on the path. It would be a short thing to do. Thankfully the park had all sorts of paths and one they could take to get to the ice cream shop Caroline and Emi had pointed out.

"I don't see why not. Seems like a good idea in this heat," he agreed.

It was a little surprising to hear the Russian being playful of all things. She'd heard he was always out for himself and that hadn't surprised her a bit but this? Alma found she wasn't sure what to make of it. Perhaps it made it easier to work with him though was he always this way? Nicholai might have only been acting this way for his own amusement.

"Perhaps," she answered simply, a light tone of voice in place.

As they touched back down to street level Alma was a little surprised by the offer to stop and rest. There wasn't time for that or was he so confident that he could get away if any of the other Umbrella operatives spotted him? He certainly seemed to believe in his own abilities.

Alma shook her head, her hands on her hips. Stopping now wouldn't do them any good. Besides, she was still mulling over that riddle and it took up much of her thoughts now.

"We can rest when we get that sample you magicked away," Alma said.

Despite herself her lip quirked up briefly in amusement. At the very least Nicholai was confident. She'd rather have someone confident then not on her side.

"That's my line," she jested dryly. A moment after she started them off, jogging across the street and into the next alley. There was a library nearby and several other establishments near it that might house books. It was a matter of narrowing down which one he'd hid the sample in now...
