Karla was framed, everyone knows that...right?

Fang: Thanks for telling us the entire plotline of this chapter. Now that I know I don't need to pay much attention....

Your face fell as you let go of Eric before taking a much needed deep breath, “Oh god.” You then turned around and ran towards the flaming building but Eric was faster, he caught you and it resulted in the both of you tumbling to the ground with you writhing beneath him.

Fang: Did you just LITERALLY jump out of the chair?

Emrakul: Well I read to "Oh god." then jumped down to "with you writhing beneath him" - I get the feeling maybe I should read through those entirely from now on!

Fang: It really doesn't sound any better reading through it all. Almost sounds like Marini is trying to rape her.

Emrakul: Right!? At this point though... I'm not surprised...

“Let me go Eric!” you shouted as you felt him shift behind you.

Emrakul: Yeah! Don't rape her!

“It’s too dangerous, not even the firefighters were able to get in!”

“Their my comrades! I have to help them! Please let me go Eric!” you pleaded.

Emrakul: She said please! You have to let her go now! ... ... ... And don't forget to use protection!!!

Fang: That's.... *pauses, shakes head and continues with a different train of thought* Marini might want to make sure to get checked after this. Constant contact with a Sue often breeds more of them - including their male counterparts, Gary Stus.

“Karla it’s probably too late for them both! If you go in there you’ll be killed!”

Emrakul: How were they able to confirm who's dead and who's alive and NOW not even knowing if anyone is still alive!?

Fang: Your guess is as good as mine considering the fire's still blazing out of control. It'd be impossible to know who's still inside and who has and how many have been killed by the fire.

“Get off!!” you shouted as you threw your head back and it made contact with his nose. He grunted and rolled off of you as you scrambled to your feet and ran through the entrance ignoring the shouts from the officers.

Emrakul: Oops! She said "get off!" Anndddd he's now grunting as he rolls off of her!!! OH GOD! THERE ARE NO BREAKS ON THE RAPE TRAIN!!!

Fang: I'm much more distracted by the fact that, once again, Karla's completely forgotten she has powers that could have forced Marini off of her. Instead they're completely ignored for the *~drama~*.

“Becky! Chad!” you called out while dodging the flames and covering your nose and mouth from inhaling the smoke.

You stumbled over the debris and ran towards the control room, but eventually you were blocked by the fire and more debris. Suddenly you heard coughing and looked to your right down the hall as you saw two figures struggling to open a door.

Fang: I have to wonder just how long this all took considering the entire scenario has been condensed into three sentences tops. Timing must not be a thing that exists in Gabby's fantasyland.

You squinted through the smoke and ran towards the silhouettes, “Becky! Chad!” you called again and this time one of them turned around. You smiled when you realized it was Chad but the action he was about to pull would stun you.

He grabbed the gun from Becky and aimed it towards you as he pulled the trigger.

Fang: I like this; someone pulling a gun on Karla-Sue! It's a Christmas miracle in August!

“You let her run in there alone?!” Chris shouted at the Eric as said man held his nose.

“She broke my nose, I tried to restrain her but she’s tough.”

Fang: Yes, restraining a young woman is just SO hard. You're a tool, Marini.

“Chris its okay, if Karla survived Raccoon and Spain as well as Russia then she could survive a simple fire. Besides you know how determined she is to save a life.” Claire said as she placed a hand on his arm. “Believe in her.”

Emrakul: You must believe in the heart of the cards! All right! I drew Karla! She requires both players to lose the game and kill themselves!

Fang: I... I don't like that card. Can we toss it in an active volcano?

On a side note - Karla did not survive Raccoon, Spain or Russia on her own. In Raccoon City she contemplated killing herself and had to be led around. In Spain she was dragged around near constantly by Leon until she felt it was time to upstage him. In Russia she was dragged around most of the time by Chris and sometimes BillyBenny. This does not constitute surviving.

Emrakul: A volcano couldn't hold back its power!

Chris sighed as he patted his sister’s shoulder, taking her word for it. “Yeah you’re right.”

Leon looked at the fire as he hadn’t spoken since he got there; he was more worried about her than ever before.

“Leon, you okay?” Claire asked concerned as he didn’t answer. Claire took this as a sign to not bother him any further as she joined him in staring at the destruction.

“Chad! What are you doing?! That’s Karla!” Rebecca shouted at him as she clinged onto his arm to prevent him from shooting at you again.

Emrakul: Everyone knows you have to use silver to kill a Sue!!!

Fang: That would mean that Sues are a vicious spawn that must be killed... I suppose we should call the Winchester brothers for this one! *determined face*

Emrakul: Already called them! They said they'd be right over! *happy face*

Fang:

“I know.” was his dry reply as he shot towards you again.

Fang: Kaplan is amazing right now. Anyone who takes literal shots at the resident Sue is alright in my book!

You however were ducked behind the wall as you brought out your handguns that you found under the driver’s seat.

Fang: Who the fuck keeps their firearm under their seat? Yes, let's run that scenario out shall we?

"Please, sir, I know you're trying to rob me but just one moment; you see, I need to reach UNDER my seat, feel around for my firearm so that I can then aim it at you and defend myself! I would implore that you not move as I do this or even suspect I'm up to anything. Kay, thanks! "

Why was Kaplan shooting at you? You hadn’t done anything to him! You were definitely going to deduct this from his pay!

Emrakul: Was that a 'funny?'

Fang: I think so. Like most of her 'funnies,' however, it just fell completely flat on its face.

As soon as a click could be heard coming from his gun you came from behind the wall and pointed one gun at him. “Drop it Kaplan.” You said in a commanding voice as he glared at you.

Fang: It's always highly entertaining to me when Karla-Sue attempts to play it off like she's this great, awesome, obey-me leader-type.

You looked him over to see that he had a gunshot wound on his left thigh; Becky breathed a sigh of relief. You holstered your gun as soon as Kaplan dropped his gun to the floor you grabbed his arm and threw it across your shoulders and reluctantly he allowed you to help him. You still didn’t understand why he attacked you as you three were headed towards a side exit he spoke.

“Why did you shoot me and set BETA on fire? Why would you do that?” he asked demanding an answer as soon as you three were outside and away from the building you shoved him towards a tree rather roughly.

Fang: Since when does anyone allow the person they believe to have betrayed them to help them?

Emrakul: OOOOOHH! Karla has a dark side! Maybe she can be redeemed? No!

“What the hell are you talking about?!” you exclaimed as he looked on unfazed. “Why the hell were you shooting at me?!”

Emrakul: Because he thought he could finally get out of this fic and then he saw you and realized he couldn't until you die!

“Because you shot me in the leg! And set BETA on fire!” Kaplan shouted back as Becky looked from you to hm.

Emrakul: There are more!? NOOOOOO!!!!!

“Why would I do that Kaplan?! Honestly! Weren’t you supposed to be with Sheva anyways?”

“Excuse me for coming back and getting files to look over!”

“How dare you accuse me of trying to kill you!”

Fang: Yes, how DARE he accuse you - the person that looked like the woman that shot him AND set the place on fire. How DARE he come to the conclusion that what the doppelganger that LOOKS LIKE YOU did was actually your doing.

“Well then who else looks like you?!” he shouted back and by this time paramedics and officers came to where you three were.

Fang: When did they get outside? Just suddenly BAM they're out and safe - that tends to be something you mention in the narrative.

You suddenly knew who had done this; she was planning on this all along.

“Oh my god, she actually did it.” You say quietly in realization as Becky and Chad looked over at you.

“You knew who did this?” Rebecca asked and before you could answer the paramedics rushed Kaplan and the two of you to the front of the building to be treated. And as you were about to finally answer her Agent McFerrin came up to you.

“Karla Smith?”

“Yes Agent McFerrin?” you asked rather annoyed.

“You have the right to remain silent,” he said as an officer spun you around and began to handcuff you. “Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney present during questioning. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you. Do you understand these rights?” he finished as the cop held you in place with the handcuffs on.

Fang: Huh? Why would McFerrin be saying this? What group is he apart of? The officer handcuffing Karla-Sue should be reading her the Miranda Rights not McFerrin.

“Yes.” You answer glumly and as he was about to escort you to a waiting cop car Becky interfered.

“Wait! Karla’s-”

“Becky!” you shouted

Fang: Nothing like showing how serious a situation is than by USING A PERSON'S NICKNAME. That would be a time you would NOT use someone's nickname as this is a serious fucking thing that's happening.

Emrakul: KARLA! How dare you murder the president!

Fang: ... .... Emmy, you're a fucking moron.

which caused her stop midsentence, she looked on at you as you shook your head at her. Encouraging her to not speak any further and so she didn’t.

Fang: Yes, because everyone must obey Karla-Sue. Or else....

“What the hell are you doing?!” Chris shouted as Leon, Claire, and Eric joined the rest of you.

“Karla Smith is under arrest, I advise you to not interfere.” McFerrin said coolly as they stood there in shock.

“For what?” Leon asked not being able to control his anger. “She didn’t do anything.”

Emrakul: Yesss. Gooood. Unleash the dark side, Leon!

Fang: How does asking a question equate to one not controlling their anger? They're two separate actions entirely.

“She’s charged with arson as well as the murders for those nine people who didn’t make it out.”

“You have no proof of that!” Chris said and by now he was shouting. “Karla wouldn’t do something like this!”

Emrakul: I think she would! Guilty! Sentence her to execution!

Fang: *mimics the Queen of Hearts* Off with her HEAD!

“Well apparently the tapes say otherwise, as well as Chad Kaplan who was shot by Karla Smith herself.” The officer holding you stripped you of your guns and handed them to McFerrin.

Fang: God damn. They got those tapes pretty damn fast. Building hasn't even been put out yet!

“Guys, just drop it.” You say as everyone turns to you. “Get me a damn lawyer, and I’ll fight the system just like I always have.” You say his you wink at them.

Emrakul: That's how you be a rebel! Fight the 'System!' Be the hero Gotham deserves!

Fang: I wouldn't trust an ant farm with Karla much less Gotham City. Karla's just being her usual self-centered self here and it comes across as extremely arrogant and lax considering the circumstances.

“Ms. Smith please refrain from saying something that’ll get you in trouble.” The officer said softly as she smiled at you.

“Okay.” You say simply as she leads you away to the cop car and gently places you inside the back seat.

“Jeremy you know she’s innocent.” Leon insisted as Jeremy looked at him.

Fang: Who the fuck is Jeremy?

Emrakul: Spawning new characters at random since... ...Bah... Whenever. >_<

“I’m sorry Leon, but the evidence speaks for itself.”

Fang: Exactly; the evidence does speak for itself. Someone who looks and sounds like Karla will be seen on those tapes and Kaplan is an eye witness. It doesn't matter how good the lawyer is they're not going to be able to handwave this away by just saying "it's a clone of Karla Smith," especially without proof that her doppelganger does, in fact, exist. The courts would dismiss it immediately.

He said calmly before turning away and heading to his car as the cop car pulls away with you inside.

“Oh god, what are we going to do?” Claire asked frantically and as she turned to her brother or Leon for an answer she was surprised to see that both men had on dangerous looks. She followed their gaze behind her as she saw Kaplan being loaded into one of the ambulances.

Fang: I love how everyone is immediately bastardizing Kaplan for merely stating truthfully what he had witnessed. Even more amazing is the fact that he gave his testimony without it ever being mentioned in the narrative AND before he was even taken away from the scene of the arson.

Both men then went straight towards the SUV as they got in and followed the ambulance to the nearby hospital. “Uh-oh.” Becky said as she came up beside her.

“Uh-oh is right.” Claire couldn’t agree more.

Next Morning-7:39 am.

“Why the hell would I set my own organization on fire numb nuts?” you spat as one of the two men in front of you glared on.

Fang: Yes, because insulting your interrogators just gets you so far in situations like this.

The first one on the left was dressed in a charcoal suit with a blue tie and had neatly combed brown hair. His brown eyes burning into your hazel ones as you sat there with both arms neatly folded in your lap, although they were handcuffed. This man from Internal Affairs was John Storm or Agent Storm to you apparently. The man beside him was dressed in a black dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to the elbows and he was wearing matching slacks. His dirty blonde hair was tousled and his blue eyes looked at you as though you were going to try something, from time to time you would catch him staring at your chest. He was from the FBI apparently, Don Matthews.

Fang: I care about, literally, none of that.

“Who knows Ms. Smith, probably because you were tired of it?” Storm said as the interrogation continued on.

Emrakul: Yup! She was 'tired' of it..... How about some kind of conspiracy theory about hidden documents or something?!

“Or maybe I did it for Wesker, maybe I’m working in league with him.” You say sarcastically as both men look at each other than back at you, both raising their brows.

Fang: Yes, because that attitude is going to get you far. What an idiot.

“Albert Wesker from STARS has been dead since 1998.” Matthews said his British accent added to his rather calm exterior.

Fang: So absolutely no one clued in the world that Albert Wesker is still alive and plotting? No one? Not Chris, not Leon, not BillyBenny, not Karla-Sue, NO ONE? How incompetent are these assholes?!

“That’s what you think.”

Both men looked at each other again before turning back to you once more, “He’s still alive?”

“Si, senor.” You say sarcastically.

Fang: So they're just now telling people that the greatest threat to humanity still lives? These assholes are completely incompetent at what they do.

Emrakul: Pfff, compared to Karla's issues Wesker is a tiny fish! >_< [/sleep] .... Holy shit, I just put sleep instead of color!!! My subconscious is telling me something!

Fang: Life is clearly trying to tell you something, dude!

Emrakul: What is it? Tell me! Oh ,yeah ---- .... ZZZZZZzzzZZZZzzzzz

“Cut the bullcrap,” Storm said dryly. “You’re awfully sarcastic for a woman who’s being charged with murder on nine accounts.”

“Only because I know I’m innocent, I was at home the entire time That's because I'm the Sue of this universe and nothing bad will befall me unless it's for mindless *~drama~*.”

“There’s multiple ways to begin a fire Miss Smith I can assure you.” Storm replied.

He then leaned towards you on the table top, fully aware that Agent McFerrin was behind the glass. His face was now inches away from yours as he folded his arms beneath him and rested upon them, “I bet you did it because you’re still upset,” you locked eyes with him as he smirked. “That’s right I know about your brother’s untimely death, I bet you were planning on setting the BSAA on fire as well.”

Emrakul: Yup, you found those secret documents didn't you?!

You leaned right back into his face not intimidated for a second,

Fang: This guy's only a few inches away from her face.... She leans forward.... Shouldn't they be lip-locked by now?

Emrakul: : OO : <----- make out session!

Fang: That is the worst emote for two people swapping spit I have ever seen.

“If I wanted to get back at someone it would be Wesker. Enough said.”

“You keep claiming that he’s alive, yet I fail to see him standing here!!” he leaned upright while slamming a hand down upon the table which caused you to jump at the action. “Why don’t you just cut this little act you’re trying to pull and confess already?!!” he screamed and Don placed a hand on his shoulder.

Emrakul: CONFESS! WHY DID YOU KILL THEM ALL?! WERE YOU JEALOUS OF THEM GETTING TOO MUCH ATTENTION!?

“Enough, you’re done here Storm.” The man looked towards his superior and with a grunt he left the room and slammed the door.

Don turned to you, “I’m deeply sorry for his rash behavior, he’s short tempered. I’ll be finishing this interrogation myself, if you don’t mind Ms. Smith.” He said politely as you nodded.

Emrakul: Hmmm, 'good cop/bad cop.' Ahhh, what a classic!

Fang: It's even more laughable considering this isn't even played well here.

“Is my lawyer guy behind the glass?”

“Indeed.”

“Ask away amigo.”

Fang: Actually the lawyer is supposed to be in the same room as the person they are defending and the officer doing the interrogating, not behind the glass.

“Did you start the fire?” he asked as your eyes down casted upon the table.

“No.”

“Was it you in the security tapes that we retrieved?”

“No.” you look up at him as he smiled at your cooperation, obviously John Storm had been dong a rather bad job at the interrogation.

“Did you shoot Chad Kaplan in the leg?”

“Never.”

He looked past you at the window and then turned back to you, “You lawyer is going to attend to you.”


You nodded as he briskly walked out and in came your lawyer; you laughed upon seeing who it was. “What the hell are you doing here Tommy?”

“I have the right to defend my boss, besides you knew I went to law school and got my degree before joining the Army.”

“Oh that’s right.” You nodded as he smiled.

“What do you think?” Jeremy asked Don while they observed Karla and her lawyer discuss business.

Emrakul: Wait, what? Jeremy is a lawyer too, now?!

Fang: I don't know whether it's because we've been up all night (it's now 5:37 am at the time this is being typed, for those of you reading this spork) or because we've just done two of these mind-numbingly stupid chapters in a row and in the same night but I have no idea what the fuck's going on anymore.

“I think she’s telling the truth; from her steady posture and her lack of fidgeting during questioning I can tell she’s telling the truth.” Don answered as he continued to watch them.

Fang: Because, you know, lie detector tests have apparently just stopped being a thing that exists. No, we can just instantly tell by body posture and expressions; nevermind the fact that many accomplished liars can look as if they're telling nothing but the truth.

“But?”

“The woman in the tapes looks exactly like her, unless she has a twin which I doubt because from her birth records it states that her mother and father only had her. Then again she mentioned Wesker a number of times.”

“He’s dead.”

Emrakul: So are zombies! Your point?

“Apparently not, so she says.”

“That’s what Chris Redfield said too. He claimed that Wesker was in Kijuju, planning some doomsday project. He also murdered Spencer.”

“Mmm.”

They continued to watch before Jeremy tore his eyes away to stare at the young FBI agent beside him.

“Don’t even think about falling for a criminal.” He warned as Don smiled.

“Innocent until proven guilty.”

Fang: Awwwwww! Brain aneurysm. I gotta add this asshole to my chart now? Who is this guy - Don? I gotta add Don onto my chart now? Son of a bitch.

Emrakul: Haha, yep! There's always more!
