Iris didn't miss the grin on his lips. He seemed rather happy that he'd managed a reaction out of her. She smiled a little as well. In truth, it wasn't difficult but there weren't many who called her cute. It always left her bashful and, in a way, rather happy.

Elliot had snorted in response. "Yea well, something tells me you've got too much confidence for your own good, Romeo."

Iris shook her head a little at that, debating on shooting that comment back at him. She didn't mention it but she'd always had a thing for shaggy haired boys. Those thoughts were quickly quashed however.

She blinked up at the pair only when asked to specify what she wanted to know. Iris had to take a few moments thought, taking the bread in hand instead. Despite the pain, her stomach was rather empty.

"Would you...elaborate a little more of what Sablier is?" She asked finally. "Why I might have ended up there?"

If anything, it would give her ideas or some scrap of an answer. The place, as Elliot stated, was dangerous. He caught him glancing at Leo as she'd asked that. Still, if they had any idea, maybe it would clear a few things up. That was the hope, at least.

Break took a sugar cube in between eating his cake and plopped it into his tea. Another followed after that, than a third. Sharon said nothing to this, already quite used to his habits. He'd caught Leena watching however.

He'd merely snorted at Sharon's comment, a small pout overtaking his features. He wasn't always like this, they both knew it. For the sake of getting some form of information, he'd merely pushed Leena like he did many others.

"Well aren't you blunt." He teased in response. "You'll hurt my feelings, now."

Break observed Leena a moment after. She was almost hesitant with what she took into her hand. That was rather odd. It seemed very well everything she touched or glanced at was foreign to her.

He grinned a little at Sharon's remark. It was true enough. He didn't have many 'friends' to begin with. Just those he had really become close with when he was released from the Abyss.

"Well, that's fine with me." He remarked lightly. "We very well don't seem to be person people anyways~."

Break could already see the annoyance written on her expression at the comparison. She didn't care for it, didn't care for him at the moment. Break found he didn't mind that fact at all.

Leo merely chuckled, waving a hand Elliot's way. It was a light response from Elliot, all things considered. Perhaps he was on his best behavior because of Iris' condition. Leo wouldn't pry. That wasn't his place, after all.

"Someone needs to be confident here," he teased.

The conversation had died briefly after that when the topic of Sablier had been brought up. So used to hearing about it, about how dangerous it was, Leo felt it was strange that someone didn't know. Even neighboring countries had heard about it, though the details that far out varied occasionally--or so Leo heard.

Iris seemed to think over what she wanted to know specifically. It was quiet then and Leo spared a glance at Elliot. Even Elliot didn't seem inclined to speak up just yet. Leo turned back to Iris, waiting her out.

When she finally did answer Leo hummed, taking the seat he'd previously occupied. It wasn't like it was easy to explain what Sablier was about, why it was so dangerous.

"Well, a hundred years ago the whole of Sablier ended up being sent to the Abyss and no one knows why," Leo noted carefully. "There's been a lot of reports of chains showing up there so people aren't allowed to go in there because it's dangerous."

Of course that was just what the public in general knew. Leo couldn't even begin to say what else might be lurking around in those ruins.

Break seemed to be having at it with that cake, even dunking sugar into his own tea. It was strange to think she'd finally met someone who had a bigger sweet tooth than she did though it seemed that was the case. Leena didn't mention it however. It wasn't important.

The banter between he and Sharon seemed natural. Leena again wondered how long they'd known each other.

"I'm sure you'll bounce back," Sharon said, lightly.

The conversation just seemed to keep on going, even with so little input from Leena. She supposed that was for the best, however. In a way she was still fighting to not feel so awkward about the whole situation.

Instead of saying anything she took to stirring at her tea. That peach scent was a little stronger when she did so. Leena could only hope that it wasn't some weak-flavored tea. She liked things with lots of flavor.

It was her turn to scoff even as she shuffled in her seat. Break's words had been aimed at her that time, after all. "I'll start being a people person when people stop being-" she paused then, gaze darting to Sharon. She'd make it a point to clean up her language a little more if Sharon was around. "-idiots."

Out of habit, Leena brought her feet up under her as she spoke, sitting on her feet. She'd always been one to do this and Leena felt more comfortable when she did.

"I suppose that might be a matter of opinion in the end then," Sharon pointed out.

Iris waited on an answer. Leo had taken a seat again, as if mulling over a way to speak up. She'd taken to stirring the soup, trying to cool it down. At least little movements didn't bother her.

When he did finally speak up, she frowned. Her eyebrows furrowed, attempting to understand what was said. One answer on brought more questions for her. She didn't understand any of this.

"What's the 'Abyss'?" She asked. "And 'chains'. What do you mean?"

She watched a confused and concern expression overtake their features. Glancing in between, she waited for something, anything, to help her understand.

"You really don't know anything about this, do you?" Elliot shot back instead.

Iris blinked up at him, unsure of what to say to that. Eventually, she shook her head slowly. What was she supposed to know? She'd never heard of these things before. Everything she was encountering, the place, the stories, even the people seemed a tad strange. If that wasn't a big clue, she wasn't sure what more could be.

Break scoffed lightly in response. It was all in good humor. Honestly, more days were quite like this. Unless something serious came about, both acted this way. Playful banter simply came and went. The only change was Leena was now a part of the group.

He studied her briefly as she pulled her legs up underneath her. She sat a little taller that way, perhaps out of habit. He didn't say anything on it this time. She seemed to be mulling over whether she wanted to talk or not at the moment.

"Hmmmm, well I suppose I always do." he answered after a brief moment.

His attention returned to Leena when she finally spoke up. She took her time, pausing for a moment in between. Break blinked before she finally finished. She must have something a little cruder in mind.

"Sounds like someone doesn't know how to lighten up~." Break prodded instead. He chuckled at the look shot his way. "Ah, but enough teasing, I suppose."

Break silenced himself, stuffing another piece of cake in his mouth before chewing thoughtfully. He glanced back at her, motioning with his fork.

"We've put word out about your friend." He noted. "So if she's anywhere out there, we'll most likely know soon. Our own people are keeping an eye out as well~."

Whether that gave her piece of mind or not, he couldn't tell. Break didn't put much stock into it either. It was up to her in the end, whether she took comfort out of these strangers or not.

Iris had taken to playing with her food. From his seat Leo could see the steam rising from her soup, even as she stirred it around and around. She kept at this, even as Leo answered and after.

Finally she spoke up. Leo shared a glance with Elliot. How did she not know? It wasn't like the Abyss could be singled out in one country or another. Perhaps theirs was the one it bled through the most, however.

Elliot had taken the lead, allowing Leo to wonder about Iris. What else did she not know? It was so bizarre seeing someone who hadn't heard about any of this.

"Well, why don't we take it slow then?" Leo offered. "We shouldn't overwhelm you with everything while you're healing."

Iris was already worried over her friend as it was. Too much could make her worse as she tried to relax and heal.

Leena didn't answer right away. Instead she figured something in her stomach could do some good, even if it was just tea. Her head still throbbed horribly, however, and she wasn't sure if she'd be able to keep anything solid down.

Sharon was speaking as Leena took a drink. There was peach flavor in the tea, though it wasn't anything as strong as Leena preferred. She didn't say anything on the matter, however. It wasn't like it was her call.

"Just give it time, Break, Sharon said. "I'm sure Leena will relax in time."

"We'll see," Leena murmured, twirling her cup around on its saucer.

Her gaze drifted to Break as he spoke. At least something had been done while she'd gotten changed. Still, Leena trusted Sharon's word over Break's at the moment.

"If anything is heard we'll notify you immediately," Sharon pointed out.

Leena nodded before she grew quiet for a moment. There was only so much that could be done with the vague description she'd been able to give. What if someone else found her and she wasn't dressed as she'd originally been? Leena tried not to worry about all of the ways that Iris could be used or kidnapped or killed. The girl was younger than Leena, however, and it plagued Leena if she thought about it.

"Is there any paper? And something to write with?" Leena said suddenly.

Iris waited on the two. Both seemed to take their time, perhaps thinking things through. This was normality for them, this 'Abyss' and whatever these 'chains' were. For her, it was something completely new. She'd never heard of such a thing, growing up in a modern era.

She had to wonder if this was a story lost to time. It wasn't uncommon, after all. No one really knew what happened in the past. No one expect those who had lived through it. Most of them had been dead and buried.

So what was all of this about? Iris couldn't be sure until either made a decision to tell her. All the while, the stress seemed to build up a little more.

Elliot ruffled his own hair, his other hand finding it's way to his hip. He didn't know what to make of this girl. Even more, it was difficult to reign his frustrations and own confusion. He'd try not to cause a scene, if only because he knew Leo would hit him for it.

"The Abyss is a place people are cast to when they make illegal contracts with creatures called 'chains.'" He explained instead. His hand fell back to his side a moment later. "Chain's are beings with certain powers, mostly 'supernatural', I suppose you'd call it. Mostly, they cause havoc, making promises to change the pasts of those who are suffering."

He watched the confusion mar her features as she tried to absorb the information. It was strange. He'd never met an individual who didn't know of these things. Even people in neighboring countries knew.

"Suppose the real question is how do you not know these things, though." He carried on. "It's not exactly uncommon knowledge."

If Leo had shot him a look, Elliot dismissed him for the moment. There were some worries in his mind about Iris. Mostly that of his family and Pandora. What would they make of this girl if they found out?

"I've never heard of such a thing." She finally answered. "It sounds like something out of a fairytale."

Indeed, it very well did. She'd read a similar story in the past, about demons called 'Akuma' bargaining to bring back the life of loved ones only to become weapons themselves. It was almost as if she was living that story, only with a new twist or two to learn.

Break couldn't help but snort a little as Sharon insisted he subdued himself a bit. Leena didn't seem the type who would relax into things, at least, not yet. No, she seemed distant, unwilling even. Break could relate at one time.

Still, at least she was trying to get something in her stomach. He had wondered if she might refuse to do so. There were many who refused to eat after an ordeal like this. Who could blame them? Most were under such amount of stress and worry, these things simply happened.

"We will see~." He answered after a few moments.

Another sugar cube was plopped into his mouth. Shortly after, he'd finished off a piece of cake and went directly for another. His tea had barely been touched at the moment.

"I'm sure something like this will dealt with quickly~." He assured lightly. "It's not every day a couple of pretty ladies show up like this."

Break wouldn't make mention of the Abyss, not yet. That might cause her to withhold anything more she knew. She was already worried about her friend. Anything more and they might be in trouble.

He blinked, finding the request a little odd and out of the blue. What did she want with paper? Whatever was on her mind remained solely to herself.

"I...believe we may have something or other." He responded. "Why ever do you ask~?"

There were gears working in her head, he knew. It was simply figuring out what she might be planning.

Leo wasn't sure how to go about the answer. There was a lot Iris didn't seem to know. At some point Leo had even spared a glance Elliot's way only to see the familiar agitation rising in the Nightray boy. Leo hoped it wouldn't spill over into a more violent temper, as it usually did.

Eventually Elliot was the one to take the lead, going on a rather succinct summary of the Abyss and chains. Leo felt it was adequate enough but did it get the point across to Iris? He peeked over at her, noting the thoughtful look on her face.

Leo cleared his throat into his fist, shaking his head. A fairytale? Leo couldn't begin to think of it like that. Then again what did that mean coming from a strange boy who could see glowing golden lights drifting around the world at all times?

"I assure you it's real, Iris," Leo said. "Which is why you have to be careful."

He paused a beat. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to divulge a little more. Iris could very well run off at any point to search for her friend. Leo didn't want to see her get hurt because of that.

"Elliot mentioned illegal contractors, well, there's a group called 'Pandora' that are dedicated to dealing with those people. They also supposedly seek out information about the Abyss though no one knows that for sure," Leo said with a shrug.

Every glance she got of Break it seemed like he was shoving something sweet into his mouth. He'd already devoured a piece of cake and several sugar cubes as they'd spoken. Leena briefly wondered just how much he could put away. It was amazing to see his teeth hadn't rotted right out of his mouth at the rate he was eating all of the sugar.

Break was speaking up again, after Sharon had. It seemed like the conversation would keep going. Perhaps it might be for the best. Leena wasn't sure what to do with herself and any silence that might reign in would be strange for her.

Leena tossed Break an unimpressed look. She hadn't forgotten the earlier conversations, before that sudden little chase of theirs. If she had been paying any attention Leena might have noticed Sharon's confused look, her eyebrow raised as she glanced between the two of them.

"Pretty?" Leena echoed. "Just an hour or so ago you were telling me I was uncute."

Sharon's gasp caught her attention then. Leena only had to glance over at the younger woman to see the gleam in her eye. It wasn't one of mischievousness or the sort but of anger instead.

"Break! Don't you know better than to treat a girl like that?!" Sharon berated. If Leena had to guess it almost looked like she was debating on standing up to do so further though she shook her head, instead nursing her cup of tea. "You'll had to excuse Break, Leena. At times one would think that he has no manners at all."

"Ah-huh..." Leena answered. "So I'd noticed..."

She shook her head, giving Break a rather 'dead pan' sort of look. However, even Sharon seemed confused, gesturing for Leena to answer. Neither moved, however, though it wasn't any top priority idea anyways.

"You'll find out," she said.

Iris wasn't sure what to make of any of it. Even as they both tried to explain, it was more or less confusion. It sounded like a twisted fairy tale, something that was meant to scare children.

Yet, both seemed entirely serious on the matter. That left her even more unsure of what to think. They weren't lying, from what she could see. She didn't know the two well but they seemed like honest people.

The warning gave her little solace though what more could she do? She knew nothing of this place. Both were kind enough to tell her a thing or two.

"I don't understand a lot of this." She eventually started. "But I guess I'll take your word for it."

What more could she do? She watched Elliot rub the back of his neck. It seemed he was mulling something over.

"Maybe we should keep this quiet to the family." He brought up. "If they catch wind of it, we're likely not to see her again."

Elliot blinked catching the worried expression that overtook her features. He waved a hand dismissively before it fell back to his side.

"My family has some tight ties with Pandora. If they were alerted, you'd more then likely be take to their facilities. There would be a lot of questions. They have jurisdiction. Given the amount of stress, I just don't think it's right."

Elliot shrugged his shoulders after. It was a stressful situation and putting too much on her wouldn't end well. At least, that's how he felt.

Break was already on another piece of cake by the time someone had spoken up again. He'd caught Shana shooting some glances at him though, otherwise said nothing. Whatever she was thinking was merely a mystery to him. He didn't so much mind trying to unravel that mystery.

The conversation was minor. One would have thought they'd known each other for quite a bit longer. Shana didn't seem to partake. He guessed she still seemed to have her misgivings.

The unimpressed look didn't go missed. A large grin tugged at his lips, seeming to look rather innocent instead. Break couldn't help it. He loved to pick at others.

"You misunderstand!" He defended lightly instead. "She was being completely unreasonable before!"

It was true enough. Even if she was stuck in a situation that she knew very little about, she could have simply gone along with things in the beginning. Instead, she'd given him more then enough trouble.

"All she had to do was accept my help! And she didn't even do that~."

Break glanced at her again. There was an expression of displeasure on her face. Break took quite a bit of amusement out of it. Prodding others always gave him a bit of entertainment.

Eventually, he shared a glance with Sharon when she didn't make mention of what she wanted with paper and something to write with. He shrugged his shoulders afterward, returning to his cake. Shoving a large piece in his mouth, his other hand wiped away some icing before he licked that up too.

"If you say so." He answered. "I'm not a very patient person, you know~."
