It felt hot, entirely too hot for the time of year Rue recalled it being. Autumn was never this warm. It was humid, sticky - weather she found very unpleasant. A couple of coughs escaped her. Her throat hurt, scratchy as it was.

Rue rolled over onto her back. Sun shown down on her. She could feel it beat against her skin. Eventually, she opened her eyes, her hand hovering over them for a moment, blocking out the suns rays. The light hurt, forcing her to blink a few times.

Her head throbbed. She sat up slowly. Her glasses slipped from the bridge of her nose. Quickly, she pushed them back up. Slowly, she began to glance around.

The sound of water drew her attention. Her gaze followed the sound. Her stomach seemed to flip when she saw a vast sea stretching out in front of her. Waves washed up against the shore. She scrambled to her feet, regretting the decision as a wave of pain shot through her head.

She noticed the sand next, then the strange trees. They were nothing like she'd seen at home. Alarm shot through her. Where was she? Where was Rekka? Was she alright? Rue's heart pounded against her chest. The only thing she could find was her blue bag she carried to work. Rekka was no where to be seen.

"W-wha?" She started, her voice barely above that of a whisper. "What happened?"

Despite the question, she received no answer in reply. Instead, she tried to gather herself, though panic was settling in. What was she meant to do, in the middle of who knew where. And an ocean? She couldn't even manage to think straight much less make a next move.

Havana was always a busy place, people bustling to and fro. In a way it was almost fascinating, really. Hilary didn't let it distract him from his duties but it was interesting to stand back and watch everyone go about their day, unaware of the Templars and the assassins that fought among them. It always made Hilary scoff a little at the thought.

The day was like any other, the sun beating down on them all and the humidity sticky and hard to ignore. It was days like this that Hilary missed Europe though he kept quiet about such complaints. Instead his feet took him down the paths, minding everyone nearby and keeping an eye out of the pesky annoyances.

Eventually he could see the ocean out between the buildings, inching ever closer as he headed towards the shore. It would do him some good away from all these people and to clear his head, after all. It would only be a matter of minutes before he'd hurried there, glancing around again for anything that might be troublesome.

And there it was... The girl was clearly distressed, glancing around wildly and looking distraught even from this distance. She was dressed oddly, nothing of the sorts he'd ever seen especially around these parts! It only took a moment before he was sweeping forward, his stride long and pace quick. Perhaps he was on to something...

"Something the matter?" he called out as he neared, ready for her to do anything of the sort.

What was she supposed to do with this? Rekka wasn't sure how she'd found herself in a rendition of the Renaissance age but she had and with little memory of what happened to get her here in the first place. She supposed that was the point of why she didn't know. But where did Rue get off to? If something had happened shouldn't she have been here too?

For a few minutes Rekka had been rooted to the spot, unsure of what to do. She was obviously lost but where at? This place was uncannily familiar, the feeling niggling at the back of her mind. It felt like she'd seen the place before but that couldn't be right...

Eventually she'd started forward, keeping a cautious eye around. She was dressed far differently from everyone else, then again she usually had a certain flair about her but this was entirely different. No, nothing of her attire matched up to those around her. She was a sore thumb here.

Rekka kept her distance as best she could. The streets were packed full as it was, driving her up a wall! With this many people she couldn't be sure she would be able to spot Rue if she was even here. Besides, all the curious eyes here way felt like they were boring holes into her!

She scoffed, shaking it away. She couldn't get distracted now.

Rue wasn't sure what to make of any of it. She felt herself trembling. She remembered how bad this could get, having panicked over a few things in the past. It wasn't a pleasant feeling, even if she tried to get it under control.

She scooped up her bag, dusting off the sand. Her hand was shaky despite any attempts to calm herself down. The sand felt odd to touch, never being anywhere near a beach much less an ocean.

A voice rang out, causing her to tense immediately. She turned, the bag coming to her chest. She clutched at it, as if that would create some kind of barrier between them. Rue nearly lost her footing when she backed away, the soft sand an unfamiliar thing to walk on. She caught herself and attempted to stand a little straighter.

This man looked so odd, dressed as he was. Even his glasses looked like dated, of period times. And what was with the accent? No, this was far from home. How did she get here in the first place?

It took her a long moment to even process the question. Her mind seemed to be working a million miles a minute. Her thoughts were too jumbled. When he advanced, she'd keep stepping back, keeping a distance between them.

"N-no." She stammered. "I...I don't..."

It was the most she could manage, panicked as she was. The heat wasn't helping matters, making her feel sick on top of all the panic. She wasn't sure what to do.

Baltasar had been wandering the streets, carefully listening for information. He was an expert at his job and took pride in it. Others could be far too sloppy for his liking. Baltasar was at times ashamed to know that much.

He spared a glance around. The day was busy, as it always normally was. There were many people walking to and fro. If he actually paid some mind, some man was trying to sweep a younger woman off her feet.

Baltasar shook his head. These were needless things to pay mind to. He had more important things to be looking after.

Out of the corner of his eye, something caught his interest. Baltasar hummed shortly, quickly able to pick out a woman among the crowds. Even those who had taken noticed to her had given her a wide berth. They eyed her, finding her attire and demeanor strange.

He picked ups his pace, even carefully pushing those around him around. Now that he was closer, he could see how strangely she looked.

"Girl," he called out. "Now, what's a strange woman like you wandering out in the open for?"

The look he received could have killed. Baltasar snorted, not bothered by it. Whoever she was, she was an interesting find. Perhaps he might have found something new to bring to his allies.

Hilary stopped mid-step at the way the girl darted around all but tripping over herself in the sand. His brow furrowed, holding up a placating hand as she hugged her bag to her tightly. Her clothes and her bag... they definitely weren't anything of the sort from 'round these parts...

It took a moment for him to realize that she'd stammered something out. His brow furrowed and he leaned in a little closer, trying to hear her words better despite the fact that she'd trailed off already.

"No?" he echoed, "You don't what?"

This was definitely something to take note of. The other Templars would want to know about this... He'd have to get into contact with Torres soon. Until then he had to figure out some way to keep her from darting off on him. The last thing he needed was Rhona finding her and bringing her into the assassins fold.

“I have no intent to hurt you, by all means if that was the case I would have done so already,” Hilary said, straightening up. “My name is Hilary Flint and who might you be?”

At the very least it might help to calm her down. All of that distress couldn’t be doing her any good. Besides he needed her trust so that he could contact the Grand Master and find out what needed to be done without losing her.

The more she walked the more she grew annoyed. Yeah, she was strange-looking compared to all these prettily dressed women and men but did they really need to stare and back up from her like that? It wasn't like she was actively going out of her way to be the center of attention like this. In fact it was down right grating!

As such she jerked when someone actually shouted at her (and really, who would they be yelling at like that?) catching sight of a man nearing her, pushing his way out of the crowds. The glare on Rekka's face didn't lessen any, instead taking a step back from this guy. He didn't have the look of someone very trustworthy.

Dressed in green and standing upright, as if he owned the world, she had to wonder who this guy thought that he was. Rekka kept that thought to herself, huffing at the question he shot at her.

"Why does anyone wander out in the open for? I'm trying to get somewhere!" she snapped back, adding under her breath "idiot."

Despite the hostility she showed him the guy didn't seem inclined to leave. This put Rekka on edge, wondering what he had in mind. She didn't quite like the look of him at all, couldn't begin to guess what he might want. Or rather, if she did start guessing they'd leave her eeved out.

"What do you want, creep?" she finally demanded.

Rue shifted her weight, still feeling strange standing on the sand. She would have preferred solid ground, honestly. Anywhere away from the water would be a blessing as well. She didn't even care to be this close, if she could help it.

His own confusion was apparent on his features. She hardly paid that much mind. In truth, she didn't really have an answer to his previous question. What could she say? She just woke up here? While it was the truth, there was no way she could explain anything else.

He continued, as if trying to get her to explain her answer. With nothing else to really say she shook her head.

"Nothing..." She muttered in return.

Instead, she watched as he straightened himself up. His words should have been a comfort. The thought that he had the power to hurt her was somewhat of a disturbing thing. She didn't like the sound of it. Was there something that could set him off? Should she even trust this man?

She would have found his name amusing if not for the situation. It wasn't often she saw a man with a rather feminine name. She shuffled a little, unsure of if she should give her own.

"Rue," she finally answered. "My names Rue."

Rue fell silent afterward, unsure of where all of this was going. It was too hot and she was far too confused to really feel settled.

Baltasar took note of her demeanor. She didn't trust him, looked more annoyed than friendly. He couldn't quite blame the lack of trust but she seemed to be taking her foul mood out on him. He snorted, a little amused by the simple act.

The glare didn't disappear from her expression. Baltasar had to wonder if she took this way to everyone. Then again, he'd only just found the girl, as strange as she was. Perhaps there was a little digging to do.

Her words were quick and sharp. A little annoyance ran through him as she tried to stalk off. Baltasar kept at it, following her quite easily. The attitude wouldn't get far with him. He would see to it that this was nipped in the bud quickly.

She seemed to be getting agitated as he followed, even cautious. That was a quick change. Was she aware of the threat or just airing on the side of caution.

Eventually, she snapped at him again. Baltasar picked up his pace. He reached up, snagging her arm. He'd have to take care of this quickly. If anyone around them was suspicious, they didn't act out.

"You're coming with me," he demanded. "I've some people who will need to look this...odd situation."

The glare didn't leave her face. She was struggling as well. His grip tightened around her arm as he started the way they had come. Baltasar couldn't waste time. Reasoning with this one seemed something of a difficulty. He'd make it easier on the both of them.

"Make this easy on yourself, girl." He pressed. "I'd rather not have to hurt you."

He could see the swirl of emotions on her face that she must have been going through. It was clear that whatever had happened to her had caught her off guard. Or perhaps she was merely the type to wear her heart on her sleeve. Either way he was glad that she was reacting well enough to the calming conversation.

She shifted from foot to foot, as if unsure of answering him. Eventually he caught her name, a simple one to boot. Hilary spared a smile, holding out a hand for her.

“It is a pleasure to meet you, Rue,” he said. A pause followed before he continued on with “perhaps I might be able to assist you.”

He waited until she showed any sort of interest in the matter. Rue still looked like she was about to bolt, that was for sure. Hilary had to stop from shaking his head at that. Who could be this spooked? It was a lovely day unless something had happened that he was unaware of. He’d have to do some digging later.

“If you would like I could take you someplace safe,” he offered, “news is that the pirates are acting out around here yet again.” If nothing else that might be able to get her moving.

Rekka hadn’t wasted time. She couldn’t say for sure but she knew his face from somewhere, but where? The nagging feeling wasn’t helping matters, not with the way he followed closely on her heels. She hated how her heart hammered in her chest like that. If he tried anything would she be able to fight him off?

She tried to shake the feeling off but before she could he’d snatched her arm up in his grip and had started hauling her off. She started, for a moment stunned into merely following after a step or two before tugged at her arm hard, causing his grip to tighten.

“Let go!” she shouted, digging her shoes into the ground and tugging at his hand. At this rate there’d be bruises on her arm but that was the least of her worries. “Like hell!”

No matter what she shouted or did it didn’t seem like anyone was going to step in and help. Even the guards nearby spared only a passing glance before turning away. Rekka’s heart sank at that, a lump forming in her throat. Why didn’t anyone want to help? It was just one person!

Even still, amid the panic that nagging feeling was still there. She knew this place, this person but she couldn’t begin to guess as to where! She’d never been to any sort of a Renaissance-heavy inspired place to begin with! Rekka didn’t want to admit to the disturbing though that countered that...

Rue wasn't sure what to make of all of this, much less him. Despite his outward friendliness and politeness, she didn't know him. A name didn't dictate enough. If she accepted his help, could she even be sure she was making the correct decision?

She was aware that he might be taking quite a bit from her given emotions. Why wouldn't he? Most could read her easily, especially in this kind of panic.

She swallowed hard. Her throat still felt sore, scratchy. She couldn't help that at the moment. Maybe in time, she'd feel a little better. For the moment, it was hard for her to grasp any given emotion other than nervousness.

"How so?" She inquired carefully.

Was he trying to help her out of simple concern or was there something else in mind? She couldn't tell. He carried himself rather well. It was that or she simply couldn't think straight enough to be bothered trying to figure out any hidden intentions here.

Eventually, he offered a safe place. The talk of pirates left her confused however. There were still pirates where she was from but they never took risks on shore...So what did he mean by this? What was worse, she really didn't have any one else or much of a choice in this. Who else was willing to help? It wasn't as if she was the type to go asking...

"I..." She hesitated, trying to figure out some decision. Eventually, she heaved a soft side. "I suppose..."

Still, she didn't stop clutching her bag. It wasn't much but it made her feel a little safer. Only when he started forward did she follow. She had to catch herself on and off, walking on the sand. Wherever he was leading her, she could only assume at this point.

The girl struggled. Why wouldn't she? Any normal person would react in this manner. No person nor the guards had chosen to help her. Even as an expression of desperation crossed her features, her wordless cry for aid would go unheeded.

Baltasar snorted slightly at that. His grip only tightened around her arm. If she kept at this, he mind as well just carry her back. That would be a sight, he was sure.

He didn't say anything, simply continued to drag her through the streets. It was becoming a bit of a hassle. A few times, he had to yank her forward. She tried to dig her heels into the cobblestone streets, as if that would help.

Eventually, his destination was coming into view. At such a slow pace, it was becoming rather annoying. The girl refused to stop struggling, even as he tugged and yanked at her at times. Baltasar had to resist his temper simply to get this woman where he needed her.

The guards had allowed him in quickly, eyeing the girl. There would be others who would take interest, he was sure. He spared only one glance back, watching the girls expression. There was a mix of emotions there. They were brushed off easily.

"You could have made this easy on yourself." He muttered. "If you continue being stubborn, you will pay for such an attitude."

Baltasar wasn't sure she even cared at the moment. Regardless, he pulled her through the halls. At least it was easier to lead her about here.

Rue seemed to ere on the side of caution, watching his every move carefully. Hilary supposed that was fair enough given her distress. He would be patient as he could manage. His easygoing nature made it easier to deal with this as well.

Eventually she spoke, asking him to elaborate. Hilary spared a smile, reaching up to push his glasses up the bridge of his nose before he answered. “Why, I can take you someplace safer for you to think and clear your head, that is all,” he offered, “or perhaps someone there could help you further than I.”

She seemed to mull that over at the very least, still clutching tightly to her strange bag. There were some sort of decorations over it though he couldn’t begin to make them out from this distance. He wouldn’t step forward until Rue eased up, however. Best not have her darting off on him.

Eventually she relented, Hilary’s smile growing larger. He turned, holding out his arm to gesture that she come to his side for the moment. He didn’t need her getting lost in Havana’s streets. Or worse if Rhona had her assassins act up... Hilary shook the thought away.

“I assure you there is no need for such caution,” Hilary reassured, making sure to keep a respectable distance despite his concerns. “I am merely looking out for your well-being until we are in a safer place.”

He continued to yank and drag her along despite the fact that Rekka was working to make it as a difficult on him as possible. Anyone who thought to help didn’t show up, leaving her on her own, being taken somewhere by this familiar-looking creep. Eventually she’d stopped shouting at him to let go, merely working to try to get away as best that she could manage. It was a futile attempt. Even when she’d attempted to kick out at him he’d merely avoided it, looking as if he had practice in some sort of combat to do so.

Eventually she was taken to a large building, guards keeping the entrance to it guarded. Rekka didn’t spar too much mind to it all, even if she was making little progress. To just give in wasn’t her style and if she didn’t put up a fight he might try something else...

“Like I care!” she snapped.

Down a hallway or so all filled with different sorts of paintings and rugs. Rekka paid only little mind to them, looking for something she could use as a weapon. Her bag thudded against her legs with each yank. She didn’t have anything heavy enough in it to do any damage...

”Baltasar, what did you drag in this time?”

The new voice, a woman’s, caused Rekka to pause, taking note of the small group in the room. The one that had spoken was far more familiar to Rekka than the man who’d dragged her here. Dressed in pinks and whites her brown hair left down Rekka found herself staring at the Courtesan.

“Wha.... what?” she managed to stammer out, completely floored by the fact that she was staring into the face of a video game character.

Rue had to admit, what he'd listed did sound appealing. She wasn't sure what had happened but a chance to clear her head would be appreciated. Maybe getting out of this heat would help a little as well.

When he motioned toward her to stay at his side, she eventually did. Still, she hesitated slightly. It was difficult to trust this man, despite his seemingly easy going nature. Perhaps she was just paranoid. Still, he looked entirely too pleased when she relented.

Regardless, she tried to relax a little. That was a difficulty. Her head pounded and her stomach was twisted in knots. At least the panic was ebbing away, just a little. At least he seemed to respect the amount of distance she wanted between them.

Eventually, he was speaking up again, making attempts reassure her. She felt unsure of even that. Did strangers normally do this?

"Why?" She asked in return.

Rue could have simply been paranoid about it all. Still, she did like to remain cautious with these kinds of things. In between waiting on an answer, she spared a glance around. This place was far from home and very strange. What disturbed her the most was how she'd gotten here.

That was a question she wasn't sure she was going to get an answer to, as much as she wanted one.

He gave the girl credit, she was at least trying to take up different ways to get away. She knew a thing or two. It wasn't enough however. His grip remained firm despite her attempts.

This was a thought that he pushed out of his head. Back in the building, he felt a little at ease. If she tried to escape, she wouldn't get far. In this area, everyone would be keeping an eye on her here. She was obviously odd. It would be difficult to hide in attire like her own.

Once more, she snapped at him despite the long bout of silence. He sighed through his nose, shaking his head.

Baltasar blinked, slowing when another voice rang out. The familiar voice made him scoff lightly. Fiora was approaching them, curiosity written on her expression.

"I found this one wandering about the city." He answered. "Strange as she is, I have high hopes that she might be something of interest."

He glanced back down at her, watching the confusion wash over her expression. A hard frown lined his lips at that. What was that all about? She seemed to be expressing some interesting, looking at Fiora. A short hum left him.

"What is the problem now, girl?" He inquired, hoping to break whatever thoughts might have worked their way into her mind.

It was obvious to Hilary that Rue had not relaxed in the slightest, even when they started off. He resisted a shake of the head at this. There was little that he could do to reassure her if she was unwilling to let it happen that way. Instead she seemed to be going out of her way to be skittish and a paranoid. ’How tiring,’ Hilary decided.

Around them were all sorts of people of all walks of life. Hilary only paid them enough attention to make out who might be a possible threat. Whores and drunken pirates away from their ships or even assassins in disguise... They all seemed to band together if the need arose and so Hilary could never be too careful about it all.

His reassurances did nothing for Rue, instead she’d fired it right back at him. His eyebrow rose as he spared a glance her way. “Why you make it seem as if I am out to harm you!” He shook his head before he said more. “Let us merely call it sharing a bit of good intent, shall we?”

Hilary kept their pace quick. It didn’t seem as if his presence was doing Rue any good and so he wouldn’t pretend otherwise. Instead he could work to get them to their destination a little faster. As far as he had heard that Mendoza was in Havana on business for their cause. He might be able to settle her further if Hilary could send someone to track him down.

This woman, the “Courtesan” though Rekka knew that wasn’t her real name, approached them, her hips swaying with each step. She seemed to pay more mind to the guy, Baltasar, than to Rekka. That might have been best, with the way Rekka’s face morphed with confusion, seeking answers that weren’t there.

”So I see,” the woman said, glancing Rekka’s way again. There was interest there as well though clearly not for her well-being. ”The others will want to know about this sooner rather than later, though I’m sure you already were aware of that.”

Their attention turned to Rekka quickly after. She blinked, unsure of what to say about all of this. Now that she’d caught sight of that woman, the Courtesan, it all clicked into place. She had seen Baltasar before but not in person, no, in the game. She ground her teeth, tugging at her arm in an attempt to get away.

“Bite me! Like I’m telling you anything!” she snapped.

For her part the Courtesan laughed, a soft sound really. “It sounds like you’re not aware that you catch more flies with sweet things rather than by force, Baltasar,” she mocked. Despite this she gestured down the way he’d been yanking her. “Well, don’t let me stop you. In fact, I’ll gather a few of the others hiding about in this place for you. It’s definitely of more interest than dealing with those in the Rosa in Fiore today.”

And with that the woman had turned and left, presumably to do just that, leaving Rekka to be tugged back down the hall and into a large room to wait.

Rue had mostly fallen silent with his answer. Maybe he wasn't out to do her harm. It could have been more than that, however. Strangers just didn't help each other without reason. At least, most that she'd run into.

He lead her to a building. The people around were odd though, they gave her looks as if she was the strange one. After seeing the city, maybe she was. Rue was finding all of this to be rather troubling.

Into another room, she was left there. She finally let go of her bag but took to pacing. Rubbing her arms on and off didn't calm her panic. What was going to happen? He hadn't quite explained that much.

Eventually, she sat down. Running a hand through her short hair, she tried to calm the emotions swirling inside her. It was difficult. She closed her eyes, emptying her thoughts. It was the only thing that helped.

Whatever Hilary had taken to, she could only assume. She had a nagging feeling there was more to this than he let on. So what was it? Rue shook her head, no answer coming to her. She couldn't really find an answer.

Baltasar had more or less brushed off Fiora's comments. The woman was typically like this. Sometimes force had to be used. He wasn't one to simply reason. After all, this girl was obviously stubborn and unwilling to cooperate. Her snapping at him again only proved that much.

A shake of his head followed after. They would need to be on their way. Even then, she still resisted a little. She would be a handful.

Eventually, he dropped her off at a room. Here, she would stay until he reported what would need to be done. Baltasar left it at that, no further words exchanged. She shot him another glare but it was mostly brushed off.

It wasn't long after did Baltasar report his findings. Of course, they were interested in what he had found. Now, it was left to decide what to do with the nameless girl. Some seemed intrigued by all of this - others, anxious.

Baltasar stood back, watching as many others gathered into a small meeting room. These were all higher up Templar's. Baltasar resisted a scoff. What would they propose to do with that girl?

He figured he'd find out soon enough.

It hadn’t been long before Hilary had lead Rue to his home and settled her in a one of the more spacious rooms. That wasn’t exactly saying much for the moment, all things considering, but she seemed to need some time to clear her thoughts. In the meantime he’d fetched some bread and water for her, setting it on the table if she saw fit to eat or drink.

With that he had sent word to Manuel Mendoza, hoping that he might arrive sooner rather than later and then sent off for the other handful of Templars he knew of in the area. They would all need to be here to discuss Rue’s arrangements and what to do with her. Perhaps by that time she might be willing to share a few answers...

Time had passed slowly, the handful of men arriving bit by bit. Mendoza would arrive later, as he had arranged with the messenger he had sent out. There was no need to be hasty about sending Rue off with the coffee farmer, after all.

Finally they moved into the room he’d left Rue in, Hilary sparing a smile and a wave her way. “I do hope you won’t mind the men I’ve called here today! All are quite curious of you, as am I, upon hearing about you,” he answered her questioning look, “we are merely going to talk to you about what might be the safest and best course of action for your safety would be.”

”Seems to me you’ve found quite a rarity, Mister Flint,” said one Joseph, “And where might you be from, mi’lady?”

Hilary turned to Rue, waiting for her answer as were the others. She looked uneasy, perhaps not liking the men around her. Hilary smiled again, hoping that at least one friendly face might help ease her worries. It didn’t seem to work well.

Rekka had been left in a room on her own, locked from the outside while Baltasar and the woman (why couldn’t Rekka recall her name?) had gone to scrounge up the people they needed. There was no timepiece around and given the time period Rekka wasn’t even sure if looking for one would net any results past a sun dial. Her iPod or phone in her bag wouldn’t do her any good, the times matching up would be just too convenient to happen.

After what seemed like forever, Rekka pacing about the room, people began to arrive through the previously locked door. There were only a handful of them, all of them looking important and confident. Each of them regarded Rekka with looks that were filled with interest and curiosity. She was, still, the sore thumb of the place.

Eventually one of them spoke up, a pudgier looking man who remained on his feet. “Waiting any longer for the others might end up being counterproductive,” he said, ”If we begin discussions as to what to do with this girl and what she may be to our cause...”

Rekka’s brow furrowed, stepping back away from the long table these men sat and stood around. They merely regarded her curiously, as if waiting for a response from her. When none came the man with the darkest hair color was next to speak.

”That might be in our best interest, Arduino, perhaps even the young lady might grace us with a few answers...?”

”I don’t even know who you people are much less why I was forcefully dragged here!” she retaliated, keeping a fair amount of distance. For their part they at least seem to see to this as agreeable.

Rue wasn't sure how long she'd spent in that room. The water and bread was left untouched. Her stomach was in knots anyways. The sight of it only made her feel sick. It was funny how those things worked. She could have been starving but in her panic, wouldn't be able to eat.

She gnawed at her lip, trying to quash her nervousness. It didn't seem to help. Pacing only made this habit worse as well. Whatever she did, nothing helped. She never had good coping skills when it came to her fears or panic.

When she heard the footsteps, she tensed. She couldn't help it. What was he doing? Who did he bring here? Eventually, he'd entered the room again, several others following in. Her gaze flickered from one face to the next. She retreated a step or two, unsure of what to expect.

Hilary was speaking. It took her a few moments to even listen to what he was saying. Another question followed right after. Where was she from? How was she supposed to answer that? Instead, she latched onto a curiosity, trying to avoid the issue at hand.

"S-Safety from what?" She stammered nervously. "What are you talking about?"

That seemed to do enough. Though, she knew it was only a temporary diversion. If she had to, she could always fake amnesia. Honestly, she didn't know how she got here anyways. It wasn't entirely far-fetched.

"Seems we've a problem," One man eventually spoke up. "Can't push much. Poor girl looks like she's going to faint."

One by one, those who needed to discuss the situation arrived. All expressed a seemingly hidden curiosity about the girl after they'd entered the room. That soured her mood, it was easy to see. Baltasar brushed it off quite easily. At this point, the mood was expected.

Baltasar watched her carefully as she took to pacing on and off. She seemed to be rather protective of that bag of hers as well. Whatever was inside, he could only assume. Baltasar put it in the back of his mind for the moment.

Eventually, someone spoke up, urging them to start. He spared a nod, allowing those who wanted to ask a question or two to speak up. Even when one did finally come up, the girl didn't respond favorable.

He glanced at the faces around him. None seemed rather amused by this girls antics but they weren't pleased by it either. Baltasar sighed through his nose.

"It is not so easy to explain." He answered after a brief few moments.

He spared a glance at those around them. While most seemed fine with what she had said, it was somewhat of a difficultly. What was more, it wasn't as if she was calm. That only made things difficult.

"Perhaps an explanation is due," Another man by the name of Amato brought up. He motioned toward the girl. "You will learn of our cause. But we'd prefer if you would answer a thing or two for us, first."

At least Amato was patient. Some wouldn't express such things, after all. Still, Baltasar figured she might not go with it. This woman was stubborn, after all. It wouldn't be so easy.

Hilary was disappointed to know how Rue reacted to their presence. He had hoped she would put some amount of faith in him, he really wasn‘t out to hurt her in anyway, after all. Rue didn‘t seem to understand or see that at all.

He hummed, glancing towards Amato and Joseph. The other two had remained quiet for the time being, perhaps studying Rue. She hadn‘t darted off on them yet, or tried to fight them. At least there was that.

”Ah, how presumptuous of us. You see there are pirates and assassins out and about. One can never be too careful,” Joseph answered.

Hilary cleared his throat, drawing attention back to himself. “There’s no telling what they would do to get someone as unique as yourself to their side,” he explained further, “we would rather not see you harmed when there is so much to learn from you.”

No doubt she had to have noticed that she was odd. Her attire and her bag and those little decorations on them, nothing matched their period of time and nothing was like it in the past. Rue was something to study, perhaps another mystery on top of the Sages and the pieces of Eden. There could be a wealth of information form her alone.

Antonio was the next to speak. “That is, if you’re willing to share, of course.”

At some point the woman had slipped into the room as well, closing the door behind her. Rekka still couldn’t remember her name nor did she care to try to at the moment. With so many people in the room, well, her concerns had turned elsewhere.

Eventually Baltasar spoke up, his answer doing little to remedy the situation. Rekka shot him a baleful look, her hand covering the place he’d grabbed her at. Already bruises had formed, dark against her skin.

Another had spoken, no names to match to their faces. Rekka couldn’t begin to tell which one was higher up on their little hierarchy. Sure, she knew they were Templars, if only because of the game but that didn’t say why she’d been dragged here. It wasn’t like people traveled into games much less through time all the time, after all!

She huffed, “Like what? If it’s why or how I’m here then you’re out of luck because I don’t know either!”

”Hmm, and where, perhaps, are you from?” Arduino asked.

“Not here,” Rekka said with another scoff.

She was clearly from a different culture entirely, that much they probably guessed but did they guess she was form another time, too? Her eyes darted between the courtesan and Baltasar briefly, her bangs hiding the action. She couldn’t let them on to the fact that she would know what would happen. If Baltasar was alive and the courtesan still with the Templars then this had to be before Ezio came around to Rome...

Rekka briefly wondered to what attempts they would drive to to wheedle information from her.

Rue was quiet, glancing at these people. Even if they were outwardly friendly, she found herself unnerved. They were seeking information but of what kind? Given the way she appeared, maybe it had to do with that. She already had an idea that this was not her own time.

She glanced briefly at Hilary before she shifted, looking away. What was she supposed to do? What was the right thing to do? She swallowed hard, thinking it over. Where had she heard about this assassin business as well? It seemed far too familiar.

Eventually, she glanced back. "What...kind of information?" She inquired.

Rue waited patiently. It wasn't as if she had much less she could do. She wasn't sure of what she could tell them or what they were looking for.

"Anything, I suppose." The man answered a few moments later. "Perhaps you might start with where your from, how you ended up here?"

That sounded like a suggestion but Rue wasn't even sure if she could answer that. True, she could provide where she was from but how she got here? That was complete mystery to her.

After mulling it over, she gave up where she was from. Far west, across the sea. However, most else was left unsaid. She could only provide so much but preferred to leave the other things silent. She didn't feel right speaking up about these things. It seemed far too strange to be giving this kind of information to strangers in the first place.

The most she wanted was to be left to her own thoughts. At least, for the time.

Baltasar shook his head. Her irritation only seemed to spike with each question or prod. In a way, they weren't unfound. She had a reason to feel threatened, even afraid if that's how she expressed it. He spared a brief glance to Fiora when she entered the room as well.

He hummed briefly when she spoke - or rather shouted. So she had no idea how she'd gotten here? With the way she looked, it could be anything. It was obvious that she wasn't from this time.

"We are not looking for the how or why." He answered. "At least not at the moment. Any other information you might hold, however, would be appreciated."

"We assure you, there will be no harm brought to you." Amato carried on. "Though, I suppose that's not entirely what you're concerned about. All we ask is for your cooperation."

Baltasar watched her then. He couldn't be sure if she'd continue to cooperate. If that was the case, maybe it would simply be a matter of time. If she warmed to them, she might be more willing to answer.

He shook his head at that thought. It was strange, taking up that kind of thing. Regardless, it might be the only way. At this point, it might be the only way. Baltasar was already thinking of someone who might take up the job. He would suggested it at a later time.

For the moment, he waited to see what would come of this. This woman wasn't going cooperate. Not so easily. Baltasar would eventually have to pull the others aside before assigning who he wanted to look after her.

Manuel wasn’t sure how long he’d waited, he hadn’t exactly been keeping track of the time. He tried to honor Hilary’s request in waiting a few hours but there was only so much he could do without getting into trouble around Havana these days. It wasn’t as if it was his usual city, after all. It was times like this that he missed his coffee farm, waiting for him to return.

Nonetheless he’d head towards the place Hilary had requested, wondering what he was needed for. The messenger hadn’t exactly imparted many details to Manuel. That was a bit annoying though he kept that to himself.

Finally he arrived, rapping his knuckles at the door. It only took a moment before he was greeted by the man himself. “Ah, Mister Mendoza, how kind of you to come!” Manuel was ushered inside, the door closing behind him.

“I take it that you called me for a reason, Hilary?” Manuel wondered.

”Why, yes, if you’d just follow me to the other room here,” Hilary answered, leading the way. “I take it someone as lax as yourself might put Rue more at ease. Rue, if you would be so kind as to meet Manuel.”

Manuel’s eyebrow rose as he came to view a young woman, perhaps not even out of her twenties pacing the room, clutching a bag tight to her side. It didn’t take long to figure out why he’d been summoned by Hilary. Manuel smiled, nodding towards this woman, Rue, tipping his hat as he did so.

“A pleasure to meet you, miss,” he greeted, “I hope you’ve been well accommodated.”

Rekka shot a glare Baltasar’s direction when she spoke up. He was the reason she was here in the first place, stuck with people she knew shouldn’t have existed at all. She’d never been one to think highly of the Templars in those games either, just another point that didn’t help the situation at all.

She resisted another scoff at the other man’s words. ’A little late for that.’ It was because of one of them that she had a nice-sized bruise on her arm now, after all. Rekka didn’t mention it, her hand still covering it as if afraid to let it be shown. Instead she’d studied each person carefully, lingering on Baltasar and that courtesan longer than the others.

With reservations in mind she struggled to come to any sort of a decision on the matter. She’d always been fond of the assassins in those games, it was just her luck she’d end up with their enemies... Rekka’s thoughts broke when she was prodded for information, asking where she was from and what she knew.

Her answers were short and concise, either blowing off the question entirely or evading it. She couldn’t begin to trust any of these people, why would they think she’d be willing to give them this information so willingly? The only one she could put any marginal trust in was the courtesan and that was unlikely anyways, given what Rekka could recall of her.

Finally one of them spoke again, shaking his head. “It seems that we are not getting anywhere with this. If you would be so kind as to patiently wait here while we discuss these matters.”

Rekka huffed again, looking indignant. “Like I have a choice,” she snapped sullenly, even as the group filed out into the hallway. It seemed she’d be in this room, the only way out no doubt blocked by them... But for how long now?

Rue had only cooperated so much. She still didn't feel right about all of this. Something seemed so out of place, so familiar. She couldn't put her finger on what, however. That bothered her, left her worried.

Hilary had sent off for someone, the last she'd heard. For what reason was left undisclosed. She was finding a lot of it was. What were they trying to gain from the things she knew?

It left her baffled and frightened at the same time.

Eventually, he returned, another man following after. She was seeing all kinds of people at this point. What did this single on have any significance here? She glanced between the pair, even as this man named Manuel greeted her.

It took a moment, but she spared a small nod in return. An apprehensive 'Hello' was the most she was able to muster out. This was all unfamiliar to her. She couldn't find a way to take much solace in it all.

"I...suppose?" She managed to answer.

Rue wasn't even sure anymore. Whatever was planned for her wasn't brought up. She simply wanted time and to return home. That seemed an impossible feat. What was more, Rekka was missing as well. Maybe she wasn't even here. If that was the case, she held out hopes that she was still in their own time, safe.

Baltasar had figured this would happen. The woman was a stubborn one, not willing to share anything of herself. He didn't believe it would be easy. Still, this was becoming a bit of a headache to deal with.

Shaking his head, he walked out with the others. It only took a few minutes to discuss his arrangements and send for Il Lupo. If anyone could keep up with this woman, it would be him. He could be overly confident but given the situation, that might be needed.

The minutes ticked by slowly. An occasional few attempted to speak with the woman again. They couldn't even earn her name. Baltasar had to resist a shake of his head again.

After several long minutes, he took to sitting. Eventually, word of Il Lupo's arrival reached him. The young man strode in with confidence, as he typically did.

"I hear you've found something of interest." He brought up, motioning to him. Baltasar wasted no time in motioning him to follow. "Now what do we have here?"

Il Lupo tilted his head slightly, studying the woman. She looked absolutely livid despite what kindness was shown to her. He had to resist a chuckle at that. A smirk tugged at his lips, however.

"It is nice to meet you." He finally spoke up, taking a couple of steps forward. "I am Il Lupo. Would you be so kind as to grace me with your name?"

Behind him, he heard his master snort. Things hadn't gone well with this one, from what he could guess. The way she was glaring at him now told him enough. She could have withered grass with that look. Still, he found himself rather intrigued. It had been a long while since he'd dealt with someone so interesting.

Hilary had stood back, letting Manuel introduce himself to the lady. She looked quite uneasy even now, despite the fact that Manuel knew that Hilary would try nothing and had accommodated her well enough. Perhaps it was whatever shock she was going through that left her this skittish and looking as if she'd dart off at any minute.

"You only suppose, hmm?" he answered in good humor. "Well, that just won't do. Perhaps I might have to take over for Mister Flint here if it pleases you."

At least in this way it would appear that Rue had some sort of a choice in the matter. Perhaps that was all she needed to be coaxed into a less paranoid mood. It would definitely make things easier on them all.

"Well, don't make me sound that bad," Hilary retaliated lightly and Manuel could imagine him shaking his head as he did.

Manuel held out a hand for her to take if she so chose to. A little good manners could go a long way in easing a person. At least, Manuel hoped that it would ease her worries a little. They weren't bad guys, after all, they merely wished to keep her safe and find out what she knew. If she was willing to indulge them it would make the process a smoother one though it was hard to go into without the Grand Master's go ahead to tell her anything.

Rekka couldn't begin to guess just how long it had taken for them to do... whatever. The door was too thick to just listen through and she'd given up that endeavor quickly. Instead she'd kept her distance from it, as if half afraid someone or something would come barreling through it at any minute. Eventually, however, it opened to reveal Baltasar and another very familiar face.

Despite being face to face with the prowler, the very avatar she'd used most often, she didn't let the glare lessen. She had to admit that he was a handsome-looking man, at least what she could make out of his face was. That didn't deter her feelings on the matter, however.

She watched him warily as he strode forward a few steps, a smirk tugging at his lips. Baltasar was scoffing at Il Lupo's words and past them she spotted the courtesan, leaning against the open doorway and watching curiously. It seemed the others had left though what they were up to was anyone's guess...

"That's not much of a name," she scoffed in return. He probably had his real name hidden for his own good.

There was a pause, Il Lupo waiting for her name. Rekka hated the idea of cooperating with these people but she was getting tired of being referred to as "the girl".

"Rekka." It was the only thing she answered with. There wasn't a need to give her last name, not when none of her family would be here anyways.

"Well, would you look at that? Some progress at last," the courtesan chimed in. Rekka huffed in retaliation.

Manuel was far more relaxed than anyone else she'd seen that day. She wasn't sure what to make of that. He'd been brought here for that reason as well - to bring her some form of comfort in a way. They were taking great pains in making sure she was 'safe'.

His reply was a light one, meant to be humorous. Still, she watched the pair carefully. The offer was a tad unexpected. A choice in the matter was something favorable, even as she shuffled her weight.

Despite her efforts, a rather small smile graced her lips. It wasn't anything special. The words exchanged, as short as they were, just reminded her of herself and Rekka.

Something so small must have been a large change in her demeanor. It almost looked as if they took relief in it. Maybe they did. She was one who easily scared as it was.

She paused, studying the hand he offered. Rue bit at the inside of her mouth, mulling over what to do. Would anything better come from going with this one? She really couldn't be sure at this point. What were the chances of anything worse happening however.

Eventually and hesitantly, she let her hand slip into his own. His felt rough against her skin though, it was something she dismissed quickly after.

"Okay..." She managed to say.

Rue had never been one to take risks or trust a stranger. Given the situation as it was, she didn't have much of a choice. Who else was she going to turn to in a place so unfamiliar. Her best chances, though she didn't care to admit it, were with them.

Il Lupo waited patiently, far more patiently than he normally would have allowed himself. For his part, it was merely out of amusement. This girl was causing so much trouble. He found it funny that she could manage that.

She was studying him and those around him. The girl was cautious, observant. Given the situation, it was a given. Still, most would have long since opted out instead of fighting. It drew his interested.

Il Lupo scoffed in humor when she spoke up. "Well, the little lamb wishes to butt heads" He jested.

That very well seemed to be the case. His master shook his head. A brief glance over his shoulder was enough to see the annoyance on his expression. Of course, he'd been dealing with this one all day. It was a wonder his patience lasted out this long.

"Quit toying with the girl." He started. "Best make headway whilst we can."

Il Lupo shook his head, waving off his words. Honestly, he found enjoyment out of this. Telling him to stop would be wasting quite a bit of opportunity.

Eventually, she gave up her name. It was a simple thing, though foreign to him. A short hum left him. He bobbed his head slightly, as if he was seriously making pains to remember the name. A shrug of his shoulder followed after.

"And here I thought I discovered a challenge." He noted lightly. "Perhaps little Rekka is just not in good company."

He chuckled at the look she shot his way. A simple wave of his hand followed afterward. Rekka seemed to be a bit of a handful to the others. However, maybe he'd gain a different reaction given that he would simply butt heads with her.

"I'll take her under my wing, if no one is objected to that." He suggested afterward.

No doubt, his master already had this in mind. It was simply waiting on the decisions of others. Who knew how far this would go, in the end. Il Lupo had learned that there were many surprises to unfold with time.

At the very least Manuel had managed to draw a smile out of her, however hesitant and shy that it was. It seemed to be the best that they could hope for as of the moment. No doubt Hilary would want Manuel to take Rue and head to Torres at some point though the question to that was when it would be happening. For the moment he could help Rue ease up a little more.

He smiled in return as she slipped her hand into his, hers a little smaller than his own and softer for sure. He brought it to his lips and placed a light kiss on the knuckles before releasing it. A chuckle passed his lips at the way her face had warmed at that.

"Why, I wouldn't have pegged you for a ladies' man, Manuel!" Hilary crowed, a chuckle of his own sounding out between the words.

"Only when I feel a pretty lady is in need of some well deserved attention," Manuel retaliated easily.

A pause followed as he mulled over their options. The least he could do was give her a few more choices to make her feel more empowered. The little things had a tendency to work wonders, he'd found over the years. As such he turned to Hilary when he next spoke.

"If it would not be too much I'd like to take Rue about Havana for some sight-seeing," he turned back to her then, "if the young lady is up for it, of course. You can lead our path as well."

Rekka frowned deeper at Il Lupo's words. This whole day was going from bad to worse, then again it seemed that was the pattern Rekka's life was following lately. Anything good that came her way was ripped away almost immediately after. If she had to be honest it felt like things were just getting worse and worse. This was just icing on the cake at this point.

"Shove off," she scoffed.

For once she couldn't help but to agree with Baltasar. She wasn't in any mood to be jerked around any further than she, quite literally, had been that day. Her nerves were shot as it was, all she'd wanted was a day out with Rue to try and pick things up and then this had happened!

Despite her mood and attitude Il Lupo seemed to be enjoying himself. Rekka wasn't exactly stoked about that though she kept quiet on the matter, just like she did about many things. His words didn't do anything more to improve the mood either.

"Bite me, I'm not your plaything!"

He had merely tossed her an amused look at that before he'd turned to his fellows. Baltasar looked annoyed and impatient though the woman still looked as if she was mildly entertained. She hadn't exactly said much to offend Rekka though so that could have been part of it. She hadn't been on the receiving end of a bad attitude today to ruin her own mood.

"I object," she said, looking as if that was the obvious thing to assume. It soon gave way to the bad mood again at the looks from the other two. "And judging by the looks on their faces I get no say in the matter anyways."

She heaved a sigh, placing her palm over her forehead to attempt to stem the headache that was beginning to rise. She was starting to feel sick to her stomach with stress to boot.

"Well, if that is the case we'll set up someone trustworthy to keep watch of her while you are away on more pressing matters for Cesare," the woman chimed in matter-of-factly.

Rue wasn't sure of what to expect when she slipped her hand into his. She barely had a moment to take in the feeling of his palm before he'd brought her hand to his lips. She felt stunned for a moment, caught off guard. Her cheeks warmed immediately, though she tried not to feel too overwhelmed.

It wasn't a moment later did he release her hand. She shifted a little again, covering her hand briefly. She ducked her head as Hilary spoke. The compliment only made her bashful again.

Rue wasn't sure what to say. There wasn't much room to. Not that she'd tried. She wasn't one to break out of her shell so easily. Even less now, considering the situation at hand.

Eventually, the topic of wandering the 'Havana' place was brought up. Rue wasn't sure of the name or the city. It was nothing that she'd heard before. She shuffled as he gave her the choice.

Lifting her head, she mulled over it a brief moment. It was warm out there but the wandering might get a little off her mind. That seemed a favorable thing.

"I...don't mind." She answered after a brief moment.

It seemed best to get acquainted with this place anyways. If she would be here for any extended period of times, she'd need to know the area.

Il Lupo shook his head slightly, offering a shrug. This girls patience was shot as it was. It didn't deter his intentions. Her shouting or snapping at him didn't change his mind. Il Lupo wasn't so easy to sway.

He waved her off easily, shifting his weight slightly. Honestly, he was finding himself a little excited for something new. It had been a long while since he'd managed to find something this interesting. Now, he might take up responsibility for this one.

"Seems the little lamb has a short fuse." He noted lightly. "Now I find that a little fun."

He quashed a little bit of this playfulness when asked, despite not wanting to. Il Lupo figured he'd have plenty of time anyways. Even if he wasn't looking after her, he'd make time to bug her.

"At least you are observant." Baltasar commented after Rekka objected. A shake of his head followed.

The exchange was rather short. Il Lupo frowned, bobbing his head slightly. Someone would have to look after her when he wasn't around. It seemed reasonable enough.

"I do not find that unreasonable." He answered. "Though, given the choices, our little lamb doesn't seem so fond of the choices, hmmm? Unless she has someone in mind?"

Giving her a choice might make her feel a little better about the situation. Or it might not. Rekka was already stubborn and rather unwilling to work with them as it was.

After his offer of wandering about Havana they waited patiently for Rue‘s answer. She seemed to need to take a moment, to mull it over. Perhaps she was worried of what Manuel might try. If she was the one leading then she could chose to stay on crowded streets, around witnesses, though Manuel wouldn‘t be doing much of anything but keeping an eye out for her and talking.

Finally she spoke, still sounding hesitant. It was Hilary that answered, a wave of his hand following as if to brush them out of his home as soon as possible. “Then don’t let me keep you! I have a few matters of my own I’ve need to see to.”

Manuel had no doubt that they were duties he should have done before he’d found Rue. Neither man mentioned this, however. What need was there but to worry Rue further? As far as Manuel knew there was a bit of an arms race happening between Hilary and the assassins in the city.

Gesturing for Rue to lead the way he gave her another warm smile. “Well, why don’t we be on our way, then?” he said. “As promised you’re the leader.”

With that he would wait until she took to it, heading out the nearest door. Outside she still stuck out like a sore thumb in those clothes of hers. Perhaps if she managed to lead them ‘round to a store he might offer to buy her something to tide her over better in. It would definitely cut back on all the attention she was getting.

Il Lupo seemed inclined to keep up what she was sure he thought was banter. Rekka closed her eyes briefly giving a small shake of the head at she did. Just what she needed. From the sounds of things she’d be hearing the name “little lamb” for some time to boot. What might have been an otherwise cute pet name was grating on Rekka’s nerves given the situation.

Her objections to the arrangements, as she’d stated after she’d made them, were for naught. Baltasar’s ‘compliment’, if it could be called that, didn’t do anything to help her mood either. The woman was otherwise silent for the moment, merely studying from her position by the door. Rekka wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or not though.

Rekka’s gaze drifted back to Il Lupo when he’d spoken up. So now she had a choice in the matter? What good that would do her Rekka wasn’t sure. Aside from them, well...

“I don’t know any of you, why are you asking me?” she snapped, her head throbbing as she did so. What she would give to soak in a hot bath though it wouldn’t be that easy, not in this time. The wait for water to heat wasn’t something she was looking forward to.

It was then that the other woman spoke up, as if picking up on her thoughts. Or maybe she just didn‘t like the look of Rekka‘s current attire. ”Well, perhaps we might be able to brighten your day with some new clothes. You’d certainly do not to stick out like that among the crowds.” There was a brief pause before she sighed, shaking her head. “Though I suppose that would fall under my duties if our little group is the one watching over you.”

If Rekka had to guess there almost seemed to be the underlying accusation that they might pick something out that wasn’t very flattering for a woman. She wasn’t too sure how to feel about that thought, however.

Rue was a little glad that they allowed her to mull over her decisions. Ordinarily, she wasn't one to jump to her decisions quickly anyways. With the situation she was stuck in, she took even more time.

Her answer eventually came about. Hilary seemed apt to get them moving while he could. Whatever other business he had to attend to was left unsaid. Whether that was for her sake or something else, she couldn't be sure. Rue decided not to wonder.

She glanced up at Manuel as he shot her another smile, urging her to start forward. Rue wasn't sure how she felt about leading. It was something she shoved aside, eventually starting forward. Leaving the large home was an easy enough affair, though she didn't appreciate the heat outside.

Rue blinked, the sunlight harsh outside. She pushed her glasses back up the bridge of her nose before sparing a glance around. She didn't really know where to go so she simply started off in a random direction.

There were many people wandering about, all unfamiliar. She was out of her element and comfort zone among them. Then there were the looks shot her way. She gnawed at her lip, not sure what to say or how to ignore it.

Rekka still didn't seem to be easing up any. He couldn't quite blame her for it. He wouldn't mention it however. This wasn't something that he was bothered by. She could lash out at him. It would only cause him to brush these things off.

If anything, the choice was an open offer. She didn't seem to take well to it, however. Her argument was correct, she had no idea of who they were. When they were holding everything in their hands, however, one would have expected a little more cooperation.

Rekka was certainly a fiery one, Il Lupo gave her that. If only she'd work a little better with them.

"Truth be told." He answered briefly, a shrug of his shoulders following. There wasn't much he could do about that fact. "There is always a chance of getting to know us. We are not all so bad."

The look she shot him was easy to read. He snorted lightly at that, shaking his head. It wasn't long before Fiora spoke up, suggesting something new in Rekka's attire. That was something they would have to attend to. She wouldn't be able to leave here with an escort in clothing like that.

"If you'd be so willing." Baltasar answered first. "Best get her into something that will help her blend in more than stick out as she is now."

Il Lupo snorted slightly, glancing back toward Rekka. She seemed not at all pleased with the arrangements. If she continued on like this, she wouldn't be making any friend fast.

"You look quite pleased." He noted lightly.

Eventually Rue had started forward, still looking quite skittish about the affair. Manuel shook his head but said nothing as he started after her, keeping near enough to her side that he could interfere in any trouble they might run into. It was always a chance with drunkards and thieves hiding among the crowds. Manuel hoped it wouldn’t come to that sort of thing today, he was in the mood for a lazy day if he could manage.

Glancing about it was easy to see where everyone’s gazes went after they glanced their way. Rue’s attire was too strange for these parts and drew attention, even if it was merely passing or curious. She dressed more akin to a man than a woman though Manuel had seen his fair share of women who took up that practice.

He gestured to Rue, even as she skittered away from a larger group nearer to them on the streets. “Careful now,” he warned lightly, “I would not want the little bunny running into something and hurting herself.”

A pause followed as he nodded towards her. The hat she wore, though strange, shaded her eyes well enough and her glasses were nothing like he’d seen before. The style that Hilary wore were the types Manuel was used to seeing.

“Perhaps we might find a place for a new pair of clothes if we have the time,” he offered.

Rekka had merely scoffed at Il Lupo’s words. If that was the case then they’d prove it, despite her attitude. As it was now they clearly only wanted what she might have to tell them about. If that’s all she was good for to them then why would she want to get to know any of them? She kept those thoughts to herself, however.

Everyone seemed to agree to that woman’s statement. Baltasar even looked relieved that she would be taking to the task of getting Rekka into something more in line with the fashion of this time period. Rekka shifted, unsure of how to feel about being shoved into a dress. She’d never been too big on them in the first place...

”Then it looks like I’ve more time to spend away from the Rosa in Fiore,” she said, a dark look crossing her face. It didn’t take much to realize that she didn’t think much of the brothel she worked at.

Yet again Il Lupo drew Rekka’s attention again. She glanced at him, not at all pleased about any of this even now. At least he’d shut up with those comments of his, for the time being at least.

“Bundles of joy up in here,” she scoffed dryly.

The other woman had shook her head yet again, her hair swaying with the motion as she’d finally strode forward to take Rekka’s wrist in her hand. At the very least she wouldn’t be leaving any bruises like Baltasar had. “If you will, I’d rather not waste too much time with an ungrateful brat. Baltasar, I imagine you had other affairs to attend to or were you merely wandering Roma yet again?”

The woman didn’t wait for an answer, instead tugging Rekka along. Rekka took care to keep her bag close to her, worried that someone might pickpocket something from it. She had some time-sensitive items in it that wouldn’t do well for her if the Templars found out about them.

Rue, despite her earlier attitude, tried to stick nearer his side. There were crowds all about and there were very few who didn't look at her. She ducked her head slightly, her hat shading her eyes. Black as it was, it made her head feel rather hot. She refused to remove it, however.

She glanced upward at him when he spoke. She wasn't sure what to make of that nickname. Was she really that skittish?

"B-bunny?" She echoed.

That was the first time she'd ever had a pet name beyond something a friend made up. It felt a little odd though, not unwelcome. Despite the situation, it was a change of pace that she liked. She dropped her gaze again, feeling her cheeks warm slightly.

Another suggestion followed, catching her attention. She glanced down at her shirt and pants. Something new would probably help, though she was rather attached to her old clothing.

"I suppose that might be for the best." She finally answered, however hesitant it was.

Rue wasn't sure of what might be best on her. She never cared for dresses. She couldn't imagine how the women they passed survived in those things. It was far too hot in the first place. Rue guessed she'd just have to make due.

It wasn't long after did Fiora take Rekka away. The younger woman would no doubt be in good hands over that much. She needed something that would make her blend in before she could even take to the streets. Even then, she'd be accompanied.

In that time, Il Lupo spoke with his master over the issues. Il Lupo wanted to keep an eye on this Rekka. He found himself rather amused by the girl. It wasn't often he caught sight of something interesting.

Eventually, several minutes had passed by. He'd taken to aimless wanderings simply to pass that time. Fiora seemed to be taking great pains into making them wait.

Il Lupo lifted his head, catching sight of the two. A smirk tugged at his lips, taking in Rekka's new attire. She looked better in it than what she was wearing before, more like a woman. A shake of his head followed.

"Seems you've done well, Fiora!" He greeted lightly. "Made this little lamb look more like a lady."

A chuckle passed him, watching her expression. She was an entertaining one, that was for sure. Il Lupo wondered what other rises he could get out of her in time.
