Rue seemed a little baffled by the name he’d called her, innocent as it was. Manuel could have thought of worse to call her but that’d do neither of them any good. It would have just caused more trouble anyways, that was something that he wanted to avoid.

“Yes, bunny,” he answered, “you’re as skittish as one after all. Or am I wrong?”

He kept his words light, though he did raise an eyebrow in response. Perhaps she wasn’t very agreeable to the little name. If that was the case Manuel would hold off on calling her that.

Instead of waiting for much of an answer, however, he quickly pointed out her need for a new set of clothes. Even if it wasn’t much they could pick up something for now. Perhaps she’d feel safer when she blended in with the crowds better. Manuel would, if he was honest. It would mean that less would be inclined to pick her out of the crowd and get ideas in their heads.

Eventually he received an answer from her. Sending a smile Rue’s way he gestured down the street, there was a store down that way he knew about. He’d passed it earlier on his way here. “If that is the case then there is a shop we can stop by down this way,” he pointed out. Rue was still leading them, after all, and he would not break his promise from earlier.

He waited then, to see what she would choose. Would she ignore the opportunity for a new set of clothes or would she jump at it? Manuel figured he would find out in the time it took her to decide. She seemed to take her time on that, however.

----[x]----
There had been little talk other than for Fiora to tell Rekka what to do and to finally introduce herself. Rekka figured that might be best, she was tired of conversations today. None of them were getting any better as the day wore on.

Eventually she was in a dress, the skirts shorter than perhaps what other, more modest women of this time would end up wearing. Rekka found she didn’t mind that, the skirts longer in the back anyhow. In any case Fiora seemed to approve of the lack of argument on Rekka’s part, even if she did hate the soft orange color on it.

Finally they left the stuffy room she’d changed in, Fiora leading the way, her hand at Rekka’s elbow and steering her along. It was like she wasn’t trust to even walk without trying to dart away. Rekka huffed at that though Fiora didn’t seem to react to it.

Il Lupo’s voice drifted to them. What he said was a dig and she knew it, whatever Il Lupo was hoping to gain with that sort of behavior Rekka couldn’t guess. Maybe he just wanted to make her lose her temper again. Before she had time to snap at him Fiora was speaking.

”I would have liked to do something about that hair of hers but I’ve wasted enough time here today. Madame Solari will be looking down her nose at me if I linger away from the Rosa in Fiore any longer today.” It was clear from the tone of her voice that there was no respect to be had for this madam of Fiora’s. Rekka couldn’t say she knew why, she wasn’t exactly a courtesan herself, after all. “I’ll leave her in your care and Baltasar and I will be sure to find someone suitable to watch over her in any of your absences in the next few days.”

Rekka paid little attention to that last statement, it was just a rehashing of what they’d agreed on earlier anyways. Instead Rekka was a little more preoccupied with the comment on her hair. She ran her fingers through it, catching a few small tangles in the process. ’What’s wrong with my hair?’

Rue brushed her bangs out of her face, as short as they were. The hat hid most of her hair. She supposed that was for the best. Short hair did better in this kind of heat, after all. This was going to take a long time to get used to.

The nickname made her feel a little bashful. It rang true, however. She'd always been skittish, nervous, and alert. The observation was rather correct.

"No," She answered, trying to lighten her tone a little. "That rings true, I suppose."

She didn't mind it. It was the truth. She wasn't hard to read and, if she let herself admit it, it was cute. She'd never had many call her by some nickname so quickly. Maybe he was simply trying to ease her a little more.

Rue blinked, glancing up at him when he spoke. He suggested an area where they could pick up new clothes. Like he had said, he allowed her to lead. It was a strange feeling, not at all the 'leader' type. If he picked up on this, it was left unmentioned.

"Will you show me?" She inquired. She felt a little better that way, knowing that he might at least point it out. Despite her efforts, some things she missed rather easily.

----[x]----

Rekka looked tired though, no doubt that was a given. He didn't put much stock into it. At least, not at the moment. The most he thought of is pulling back a little. Dealing with her personality was one thing. She looked far less patient now.

He took a couple steps forward, listening as Fiora spoke. Honestly, the girl didn't look too bad, though whether she cared for the look or not remained to be seen. She simply looked upset. That's the most he could read.

Il Lupo waved Fiora's words off. It was true enough. It was also no secret that she didn't care for the one she worked under. Il Lupo refused to get into a conversation about that.

"I will take good care of the little lamb." He answered.

It wasn't long after did Fiora stalk off. Il Lupo offered a hum, only to break the silent between them. Rekka didn't seem so inclined to start a conversation, even if he wanted to prod her a bit. He shook his head.

"Are you hungry?" He asked instead. "I am sure we can find something around if you are."

For the moment, it was the best he could offer. He didn't believe that he would be gaining her trust anytime soon. That much was a given, the way she treated those around her. No, he would have to take care with this one. Il Lupo made special note of that.

Manuel allowed a chuckle to pass his lips as Rue answered him. At the very least she wasn't shrugging him off or ignoring him. Some could be quite rude and unnecessarily, too. He was a little glad to know that Rue was easy to deal with, at least for now.

"Well, as long as there are no arguments about it, bunny," he said simply.

Rue had gotten quiet again after that, looking as if she were lost in thought. Manuel left her to it, uninterrupted. She kept them wandering as she did, her pace slower to accommodate this. People dodged around them, perhaps curious of Rue and worried that she might try something. It wasn't like the world was ready for someone dressed like her, after all. She was truly on oddity.

Eyebrows raised, he glanced her way as she spoke up. Manuel bobbed his head, gesturing the way they needed to head. "As you wish," said Manuel.

He kept his pace quicker now. Perhaps she'd feel better the sooner she was blended in. Manuel could only guess, however, it wasn't as if he really knew Rue, after all. It was just a feeling he had. He glanced over his shoulder, the girl's pace quickening to match his. Just up ahead the store could be found and it would be here that they would find her something to wear, even if it was simple in nature. Sometimes simple was best, especially when working not to draw attention.

----[x]----
After Il Lupo had answered Fiora had wasted no time in sashaying down the hall, her pace quick. Rekka wasn't sure if it was a good thing or not that she was now in the care of Il Lupo. She still wasn't at all happy with her situation, after all. The nickname wasn't something she was a fan of either though she didn't mention that.

It was quiet but for the low hum from Il Lupo. Her eyes drifted back to him, brow furrowing briefly as if to silently question what he wanted now. It was just a moment later that he asked.

Shifting from foot to foot, Rekka wasn't sure how to answer that. She hadn't eaten much today, if only because she and Rue had planned to head out for pizza later. That had obviously been before this whole mess, however it had started, separated them. Rekka wondered if Rue was in the same situation she was in or if Rue was safe at home now.

"I guess," she relented, shifting her bag over her shoulder better. It clashed with the dress she wore now but she wasn't about to just leave it lying around, not with everything in it. She'd even made sure to tighten the strap up to keep it nearer, tucked under her arm better.

She waited for Il Lupo to lead the way. It wasn't like she knew where anything was around here, so, in a way, she had to rely on him, however much she hated the idea.

He only really chuckled in response. Despite herself, a small smile tugged at her lips. She liked the sound of it. It was a deep, throaty sound.

His words were brief before things fell silent again. She wasn't sure of this kindness or even why these strangers were helping her in the first place. It all seemed far too odd in her mind. She was paranoid, suspicious of little things. Still, she admitted it was better than wandering the streets alone. There were too many shady figures out and about for her to feel comfortable.

The question still remained - how in the world did she end up here in the first place? This was far further from home than she originally realized. The time period was far different form her own. So what had happened to cause it?

She couldn't begin to think of an answer, much less find one.

Her thoughts drew to a halt when he obliged to her request. His pace picked up after that. She trotted back to his side, a little more comfortable that way.

It wasn't long after did he show her this store. She wasn't really sure where to start, honestly. The clothing was strange, compared to what she was used to. She figured as long as it wasn't a dress, she'd live.

----[x]----

Despite how she acted earlier, Rekka now looked out of place and awkward. It was a tad strange to see that fire disappear so quickly, though he made no mention of it for the moment. Perhaps he'd save it for a later time.

He waited patiently for her to speak up. She shuffled from foot to foot, an odd thing. He expected her to shout at him or deny his request. Instead, she looked a tad apprehensive about it.

Eventually, Rekka relented. He spared a brief nod in response, though said nothing more. He simply motioned for her to follow. The halls were long but it wouldn't take them terribly long to get where they needed to go.

"Well, lets be off, then." He started, moving down the hall easily. He spared a glance in her direction, watching as she took to following.

"I suppose Fiora accommodated you well enough?" He inquired.

At least he could bring up some friendly conversation. Il Lupo wasn't completely oblivious to the fact that she looked troubled. He wanted what was on her mind, though he had doubts that she'd give it up so easily. He brushed that thought away. There wasn't much he could do about that for the moment.

The shop was a little one and there wouldn't be much of a selection for her. Still, something would be better than nothing, Manuel figured. It wasn't like he had a lot of money on him anyways. The inside was a little darker than it was outside, the bright sun unable to reach in through the windows given where they were placed.

Manuel gestured for Rue to look around. "Well?" he said, "it's up to you to choose."

He wasn't about to go picking out clothes for her now. That was just a little too awkward, even for him. The girl dressed in what looked like men's clothing, even if the shirt fit her snugger than what shirts made for men were like, perhaps that was what she would gravitate to. Manuel wasn't sure how he felt about that. They wouldn't exactly be very flattering on her, after all.

A shake of his head followed, chasing away that train of thought. Instead he stood back, arms folded over his chest as he waited. It wasn't like he had any place to be now, after all. If Rue had to take her time then she could.

"Take whatever time you need," he called out to her.

----[x]----
Il Lupo must have been studying her, perhaps taking in her reactions and expression. Rekka wasn't exactly thrilled about that thought either. The last thing she needed was someone watching her every move. It seemed like it would be just that, though. The thought wasn't very comforting.

Eventually he'd motioned for her to follow after him. Perhaps a little reluctantly she did so, making sure to keep distance between them. Rekka had no disillusions that he didn't notice this though he said nothing of the matter. Strange. From what she knew about him already he seemed to like picking at her... Rekka wasn't going to complain though, it was better than dealing with it.

She caught the look he sent her way, maybe seeing if she was following or not. Rekka didn't put much thought into it. Besides, he was talking again, attempting a conversation. A frown lined her lips at that, she wasn't exactly in the mood for idle chatting, especially not with these people.

"I guess," she said yet again. She hated orange and now she was stuffed into a dress with that very color splashed all over it. Then again Fiora hadn't left much room for Rekka's opinion when she'd fixed her up in something to wear. There wouldn't be much good to be had if she complained about it though. At the very least she was in a nice pair of boots she quite liked.

The hallway was a long one, the thick rug muffling the sound of their footsteps. There were a lot of things to glance at as they walked,–large vases, pedestals that held them, paintings. It was all very impressive looking, she supposed.

The shop was rather small and dark. Rue didn't so much mind. Anywhere out of the sun and the heat was a blessing. She wasn't sure how people survived in this kind of thing day in and day out. She much preferred the cold - or at least mild weather.

It wasn't long before he urged her to pick something or other out. She spared a glance back at him. He'd taken to standing a little ways. His head was tipped just enough for that hat to shadow his expression.

Only after did she start to wander the little place. She took her time, as he had informed her to. She was a little thankful for that much.

Rue discovered that, despite her misgivings for dresses and the like, she might not be able to avoid them. Why wouldn't that have been the case? Most women she'd passed wore such things. She was in a time where this was more or less accustom.

Eventually, she picked something out. It was only after she was ushered into a room to help change. That was another thing. She wasn't sure how she'd feel in these clothes, stiff or anything like it.

She swallowed, toying with the bracelet on her wrist. If anything, she was still able to keep with a bit of her tomboyish flare. Still, she felt a little unnerved as she walked out, wearing what she'd picked.

----[x]----

She kept her distance while they walked. It was of no surprise to him. Instead of feeling safe at another's side, she seemed to take the opposite of what most would have done. Il Lupo didn't find it so strange after witnessing her bull headed attitude.

If anything, he kept an eye out for her and on her. The last thing he needed was her making some attempt to dart away from him. She would be easy to catch, no doubt, but he'd rather not waste the time.

Rekka didn't say much. Compared to how she acted earlier, this was a rather large change of pace. Maybe she was tired or maybe she couldn't be bothered to start an argument. He wondered if this would continue or if he could light that fire in her again.

Her reply was short, much to his disappointment. He frowned slightly, studying her expression before looking ahead again. Whatever was on her mind was left silent.

"Sounds as if you have not quite been pleased." He brought up. "Not prone to dresses. Or perhaps the color, hmm?"

It was a light prod, if only to get her talking again. Who knew if it would work or not. Rekka could be the type to withdraw, for all he knew. That would be no fun, if that happened instead.

Eventually, he would stop off to a kitchen. There were one or two accommodating the building for those who had to be here and leave often. He motioned for her to step in first before he would follow.

"Help yourself," He said, standing off to the side. "And take your time, if you so wish."

Manuel wasn't sure how long it took for Rue to find something. She poked around here and there, not at all pleased about the choices. Manuel merely watched silently, near the counter and the shop keep. There wasn't any conversation to be had though Manuel had shot him a warning look not to stare at Rue and her oddness.

Eventually she'd asked for a place to change, having found something to her liking. Or maybe she'd just settled with what was in the shop to begin with. The shop keep had kindly pointed a pudgy finger to a side door.

Minutes later Rue finally emerged, looking awkward and unsure of herself. The clothes weren't bad though not something he would have figured she'd picked. Manuel assumed she'd stuffed her old ones in that bag at her side. Paying for them, Manuel was a little surprised at the cost though with a shake of the head he'd forked over the money.

"Quite a charming look about you, bunny," he said, leading them back out into the streets. It was more humid out here than inside though Manuel had long since grown used to this. It didn't look as if Rue cared for the weather, however.

He gestured yet again for Rue to take the lead. There was still much of Havana to be seen and they had nowhere to be just yet.

----[x]----
She could feel his gaze on her every so often as they walked. No doubt he was probably making sure she hadn't tried to dart off around a corner or down a nearby hall. No, she knew better than that. He'd been trained to imitate the assassins, after all, Rekka would rather not be on the receiving end of the fruits of that training.

When she'd answered Il Lupo had taken a moment to stare at her. She could see it from the corner of her eye though she didn't meet his gaze. Rekka didn't want to give the guy anymore fuel than what he already had to use against her.

His observation was one that Rekka felt was obvious. Why would she be pleased by any of this? Pretty dresses didn't make the situation okay and didn't get rid of the bruises on her arm from being forcefully dragged here! She tossed him a sour look.

"No, you think?" she shot back, resisting a roll of her eyes. She said nothing more on the matter, even when he prodded for more information.

It was only a few short minutes later that he pushed open a door and gestured for her to go in first. Still carefully making sure there was distance between them she did so, taking the time to glance around at what constituted a kitchen in this time period. It was bizarre to not see a fridge or a microwave. It would take some time to get used to this...

Rekka took to peeking in the cabinets and the like. Just something simple would be enough for her.

Rue wasn't sure of what she expected. She wasn't used to this kind of thing but she admitted that it might be a tad cooler. Those baggy pants she'd worn previously hadn't been a big help. Now, they were tucked away in her bag. She hoped that she'd get to use them again.

He quickly paid for the clothing. She wouldn't ask for the price though, she worried a little bit about what he paid. She didn't like having someone pay something for her without an offer to work it off or something. It was simply how she was raised.

Walking outside, she ran a hand through her now exposed hair. She blinked up at him, a little surprised by the compliment. Bashfully, she cleared her throat.

"Y-you think so?" She responded. She honestly wasn't sure though, had never given herself much credit for being 'something to look at'.

He gestured for her to take the lead again. Eventually, she did, picking any random direction. Her gaze occasionally drifted about. Less eyes were on her now. The only thing she'd kept on was her glasses, given that she couldn't see well without them. They were very different from this day and age.

"Is it always this hot?" She brought up, albeit hesitantly.

She held out hopes that rain might cool it down, if only for a while. Rue had no idea. It wasn't as if she'd been accustom to this weather.

----[x]----

Rekka seemed to remain cautious, observant. That was a good trait, especially someone in a situation like she was. She remained rather level headed. Il Lupo kept this to himself. He felt no urgency to share that information.

If anything, he knew she wasn't going to dart away on him. That was a bit of a relief. He felt the need to be a tad lazy today. A break didn't come often from the work he did.

He chuckled at that sour look she shot him. That look could have withered grass. Pushing her buttons anymore might have caused more problems. He tried to restrain himself.

"Well, if we're stating the obvious, yes." He teased in response. "The little lamb seems to be in a foul mood. I truly hope that was not caused by me."

Partly, he knew that he had been a cause. The bruise on her arm might have been another. Baltasar was rarely a kind man. Her refusal before only showed now. No doubt, that would have soured her mood even more.

Il Lupo stood back, watching as she poked around the area. He had little doubts that she might take her time here. Anything to avoid much more trouble. He waited patiently, wondering if she would answer him or strike up conversation. No doubt, she was curious of what her role was in all of this.

The bashful way that Rue took to acting wasn't something she'd expected. He chuckled, shaking his head. He hadn't met a woman that awkward from a compliment in a long time! It was quite amusing to see, actually.

"Now, now, no need to let that blood rush to your head like that," he teased, tipping his head her way. Her face had warmed considerably at the little compliment.

Rue took to a careful pace yet again. It was like the girl had no actual confidence in herself at all. Manuel hummed at that, keeping the observation to himself. No need to drudge up an argument over the matter. It wasn't like he really knew her anyways.

He glanced her way when she spoke up. What had she expected from a place like this? Of course it would be humid and hot.

"Considering this is the Caribbean I would say yes," he answered. "It is usually what attracts people." Well, that and the sights or so he'd heard. Manuel wasn't one to go out and talk to others about why they'd come to these parts, after all.

----[x]----
The laugh she got in return didn't help matters. Was this all just a game to him? Briefly Rekka clenched her jaw, biting back the insults she had in return to that. She wasn't some toy that could be yanked around! And yet that's exactly how it felt... It was dehumanizing, in a way, and only made the knot in her stomach twist harder.

She said nothing, if only to deprive him of the rise he was attempting to get out of her. If she had to live with that sort of an attitude he could deal with her being unresponsive to it. Telling him to shove it only seemed to further his amusement, after all.

It was a relief when they were in the kitchen, or at least what passed for one. For a building this large it wasn't a very suitable kitchen. Perhaps there was more than one, it wasn't like Rekka was familiar with the place.

Eventually she found a piece of fruit that would tide her over for awhile. It wasn't much though she didn't exactly want to sit around and prepare anything either. So used to ovens and microwaves Rekka wasn't sure how things when in these sorts of kitchens. She supposed she'd find out sooner or later now.

Rekka could feel Il Lupo's eyes on her as she'd poked around. Maybe he was waiting for her to talk or something. While there was a lot on her mind Rekka wasn't exactly wanting to talk to the guy who kept trying to push her buttons. Instead she took to munching on the piece of fruit she'd found.

Rue could feel her ears burning. A dropped compliment or two wasn't something she was so used to. At least, not when it came to how she looked. The most she'd ever earned was a compliment from women who stopped in when she was working.

Coming from a man, it felt rather different. She knew if it kept on like this, she'd be a target to get picked at. He didn't seem the type but no doubt she'd meet others.

She cleared her throat, brushing her fingertips passed her hair. It was an odd feeling with the absence of her hat. She gathered herself a moment later. Truthfully, she was thankful for the distraction. It helped, if only briefly, with everything that was going on.

"I'll make note of that." She replied, trying to lighten up her tone.

His next words caught her off guard, however. A frown lined her lips, thoughts rushing in her head. She knew it was some place odd but this was far from what she had originally expected.

"The Caribbean...?" She echoed quietly.

She feel silent a moment later, mulling it over. In hindsight, that cleared up why Hilary kept mentioning pirates earlier. It cleared up a lot of things but it provided her no solace. It was hard to pick what she felt among all of the panic and confusion. That familiar knot in her stomach returned. She began to wonder if it would ever go away.

----[x]----

Rekka had fallen silent. The sour look remained on her expression. Her jaw was set and a hard frown remained on her lips. There was really nothing that was brightening this ones mood. Il Lupo wasn't surprised, however.

She took to ignoring him, from what he had to guess. He shook his head lightly at that. Honestly, he would have expected a bit more fight. She was tired and irritated however. Perhaps there would be more in her at a later date.

He watched her as she poked about the area, almost curious of what she was planning to grab. He'd offered her enough time to prepare something but she gravitated to a simple piece of fruit instead. A short hum left him at that.

Even now, she seemed apt to keep silent, taking a bite out of the fruit. Il Lupo scoffed lightly at that. Pulling back wasn't so fun. It seemed to get on her good side, that might be what he needed to do. They were going to be seeing a lot of each other, after all.

Il Lupo waved lightly, catching her attention. "Come now," he started. "You'll warm to me. Most always do!"

If anything, it would get something out there. Il Lupo didn't put too much hope into it however. She certainly seemed set on remaining quiet.

Manuel hadn't quite expected her ears to turn red at the compliment. She was a pretty girl, if a little odd-looking in those old clothes of hers. Now she looked much more natural, less of a sore thumb in any case. That alone would help things a great deal, so long as the Assassins didn't catch wind of her and her strange appearance in Havana.

"Quite a modest one I have on my hands today," he noted lightly, "an odd change of pace."

Usually he was dealing with more confident women, either those that had joined the Templar cause or those that wandered their chosen towns and cities. He supposed he just didn't keep an eye out for the more modest ones.

His eyebrow raised when topic turned to where they were at in the world. She'd echoed his words, sounding lost and confused. How did she not know she was in the Caribbean? Perhaps Grand Master Torres would be able to shed light on this when they could meet with him. If not then they would have quite the mystery on their hands.

"Yes, the Caribbean, how do you not know this?" he wondered. Hilary had only told him so much, probably keeping the rest for the Grand Master. Manuel couldn't fault him for that, it was a wise move until they could figure out what was happening with Rue.

She'd gotten quiet on him, even as he'd prodded for answers. From the looks of things she was mulling things over. Manuel left her to it, if only so that she could draw her own conclusions.

----[x]----
Occasionally she could hear Il Lupo shifting around, his steps easier to hear when there weren't any other noises or conversation around to mask them. He might have been watching her, maybe curious of what she might choose. When she'd made her rather simple choice she caught what she could of Il Lupo's face, unhidden by shadow or hood, he looked as if he'd expected something more.

When she'd started no conversation she could hear him scoff again. Irritation sparked in her though she pushed it aside. Her head still hurt and her stomach felt knotted up even now. It made it a little hard to eat though she managed.

She hadn't spent long studying him, no more than a second or two, before she'd taken to examining the kitchen again. It seemed Il Lupo wasn't exactly satisfied about that, finding a way to draw her attention back to him. Brow furrowing she gave him a hard stare for the comment, unimpressed.

"How modest," she drawled.

Still, he seemed to keep his distance and whatever was on his mind was a mystery to Rekka. That last part was what had her so concerned. They wanted her help, or so they claimed, though what that entailed or what they expected hadn't exactly been told in detail to her. It left her on edge, feeling a little high-strung and tense. It didn't help that she felt so small in this large place. Never before had she been in a place that people lived in that was this large much less this nice-looking. It felt like at any moment she might accidentally break something that would have otherwise been priceless in her own time.

In an attempt to take her mind off of that–that could come later, when she was alone–she spoke up once more, if a little reluctantly. "Don't you have better things to do while tailing me that doesn't include staring?"

It was a little eerie, having him dog her every step though it didn't seem like that would be changing anytime soon. If anything Il Lupo seemed intent on following his orders to a 'T'. If anything it almost looked as if he was eager to though for what reasons Rekka couldn't guess.

She brushed her short bangs out of her eyes. Trying to make her face cool was hard enough work. It wasn't as if most men were showering her with compliments. Even the smallest of one made her feel rather modest.

She supposed that was partly her own fault. The men who did fancy her, she often felt nothing for. While the ones she'd fancied were normally in relationships. Rue never really won on the front of a 'relationship' and had given up trying.

The thoughts were fleeting ones. Eventually, her face cooled, her mind worried over how she'd ended up here again. It was enough that she'd found out where in the world she was. Now, it was a matter of the year.

From what she'd seen, it was clearly older times. The mention of pirates as well - that could have been any age, but this seemed far bigger when it was mentioned. Clearly, they were a problem for those on shore. She could only guess at this point.

She spared a quick glance up at him when he spoke. The most she could offer was a helpless shrug. He honestly sounded baffled by her own confusion. She wasn't much better off, honestly. If she had answers, she probably would have tried to clear it up by now.

"I woke up here." Is all she could provide. "My home was no where near the Caribbean."

Still, the shock of it all was much more when she knew that the times were different. Everything she'd been accustom to in her own time could be seen as strange in this one. That worried her as well. What was more, what did they plan on doing with her? Other than information, she had little idea. Why were they so interested anyways? For now, it didn't seem as if she would be provided answers to those questions.

She wanted them though, desperately. She was worried. What might happen and where she might end up were deep concerns. It wasn't as if she was prepared for this, after all. What of Rekka as well? She hoped her friend hadn't been pulled into this time as well.

----[x]----

Il Lupo kept a careful eye on her. Rekka seemed like she was going to behave herself. Who knew, however. She had quite the mouth and an attitude to boot. There was little telling if she would simply lose her temper or not. Of course, he could easily counter the girl. Part of him held out a little hope that this would happen.

Watching her however, he could note a bit of worry there. It wasn't completely masked. She did quite a nice job trying to conceal it however. In the quiet, perhaps that was why it was easier to pick out. She simply had nothing to get worked up over.

Rekka's words were brief as she tried to force down what she'd chosen. He could guess easily that she was less than hungry. No doubt, there was quite a bit on her mind now. She refused to share, however.

"Modesty has never been something I've indulged in well." He offered, a chuckle following his words.

She didn't appreciate the comment, though, why would she? As high strung and tense as she looked now, he had doubts a simple jest here and there would calm her. Despite all her confidence, she was clearly on edge.

Eventually, she spoke up, reprimanding him for remaining here, watching her. He shook his head, a slight smirk tugging at his lips. No point in allowing an opening like that go. That wouldn't be much fun.

"Why, then I would not be able to look at that pretty face." He answered, motioning toward her gently. "Come now, don't look so sour! It is merely a compliment!"

His words did little to ease her. Perhaps that was correct in the end. It wasn't as if he'd necessarily treated her well. He didn't intend to either. If things kept on like this, he'd simply continue prodding her for his own amusement.

Even after he'd complimented her it took several minutes for her face to actually lose that red coloring. Manuel's eyebrow raised at this, wondering if she'd always been like this or not. Perhaps she was merely overly shy or modest and such simple compliments were enough to set her off. A strange thought to be had and yet here she was, quite red-faced.

The talk had turned to more important things, however, and Manuel let that topic drop. Perhaps it would do her some good to let her get her bearings back. The most he could do was try and see if that was the case.

A look of confusion crossed her features, catching Manuel's attention. How did anyone just wake up in some place far from their home? The more he was listening to Rue speak the more he was growing confused, perhaps a little uncomfortable with the lack of answers and the thoughts that the conversation inspired.

Manuel shook his head, offering a brief shrug. His hands slapped against his thighs afterwards. "Well those are mighty hefty thoughts to be having now," he said easily.

If Rue was seeking answers from him Manuel had none to give. More than ever he hoped Hilary was quick to manage something, to get the Grand Master's attention with this young lady. The sooner that happened the sooner they might have answers. Something told him it might be a relief to get something out there for them all to mull over. Until then they could only guess.

Around them no one seemed to pay them any mind, perhaps a quick glance or so and that was that. Manuel didn't mind this, preferred it in fact. He had his fill of excitement from time to time, not to mention the things he'd experienced before this point in his life. He'd rather not have to deal with having to protect Rue unless he had to and for something that wasn't just a little thief or so.

----[x]----
It was making her feel more tense the more that he watched her. It was as if he was wary of turning his gaze from her for longer than he had to, maybe he half-expected her to try to dart away. Rekka resisted scoffing at that. There was only one door into this kitchen, a smaller room than she would have expected from this large place, and he was standing right by it.

Rekka did scoff when he spoke about his modesty or rather the lack there of. That much she could have told him, it seemed like everyone here so far either lacked the ability to be humble or modesty. Pointing that out didn't seem like it'd get her very far, however.

Instead of furthering that topic Rekka turned back to her food, forcing it down until all that was left was the core. It took a moment to locate what had to be a trash can of sorts. The loud thump as it hit the bottom was louder than Rekka had expected it'd be though neither did or said anything about that. A moment after Rekka had taken to snapping at him for staring.

Il Lupo's answer should have been something to expect with the demeanor and attitude he'd shown thus far. His joke-y, rather smug tone of voice clashed a little with the almost tender way he gestured to her. Rekka shot him a sour look for it but like before it did little to make that smirk of his falter.

"Compliments from a wolf," she scoffed, "it's enough to leave anyone on edge."

With that said Rekka headed for the door, giving as much of a wide berth as she could manage around Il Lupo as she did so. She kept a hand resting over her messenger bag, hanging at her hip as she did so. That woman and the barber, they'd trained him to emulate the assassins and so it wouldn't surprise Rekka if he had some pickpocketing skills. She'd rather not have anything time sensitive in his hands if she could help it.

She could hear him stepping out after her, perhaps curious where she'd end up in this giant place. No doubt he'd probably like it if she got lost. It was that last thought that had Rekka hesitant though it didn't look like she'd be leaving this place anytime soon anyways, best get acquainted with it all. Glancing this way and that she eventually picked a way and started down, maybe a little more cautiously than she'd ever been in a place. All those paintings and vases, Rekka felt as if she'd break something inadvertently if she wasn't careful.

Rue could only spare a brief glance up at him before her gaze fell onto something else. What more was there to say? There were no answers that could be provided on either of their parts. Knowing that, she wasn't much in the mood for talking either.

It was strange, seeing this place or time or wherever she was. Rue had at least prided herself in knowing a little about American history. This was no where near her country. She hated to admit she knew little about pirates or sailing or the like.

The thought of water made her stomach twist suddenly. She prayed that she wouldn't have to step foot on a ship later on. She hated the water but she also had some terrible issues with motion sickness.

She rubbed her arm before her hand fell back to her side. There seemed to be a few more things to worry about that she hadn't considered.

There was still the issue of what these people wanted with her as well. It seemed like they had an idea of what might have happened but refused to tell her. Clutching her bag, she couldn't shake it from her mind.

She hoped to just get it over with soon, at this point. She was anxious enough as it was.

----[x]----

Il Lupo glanced around the room briefly. It was rather empty. Most were busy. Some wouldn't be here or in the other areas like this until later. It seemed she felt more comfortable when his gaze was dragged away.

He scoffed in amusement. It was far too akin to a a wolf cornering it's prey. She seemed to know that, if her discomfort was anything to go by. Il Lupo shouldn't have been so amused by that. It was hard not to be.

He tilted his head, watching her flinch at the sound. This was evidence enough. She was on edge despite how confident she was. He resisted a snort at that. Rekka was quite a card, he was finding.

"Oh my," he answered. He placed his hand over his chest, feigning injury. "Now that really hurt."

She took the time to step around him, hand protectively on that bag. Whatever was inside, she no doubt wanted to keep it at her side. Il Lupo found himself curious as to why. What was it she was hiding away in there?

Il Lupo followed after. She was keeping quite a wide berth away form him. He didn't bother pointing this out or stepping closer. No point in causing a scene out in the hall. Rekka's patience seemed quite a bit drained.

"You seem uncomfortable." He mentioned, watching as she spared a glance around. This all seemed very foreign to her. "Not quite used to a place such as this, hmm?"

It had grown silent between them, chased away only by the sounds around them. At his side Rue had grown sheepish again, hugging her bag closely to her chest and fidgeting every so often. Manuel said nothing about it, instead leaving her to thoughts at the moment. There was no sense in dragging her out of them to force a conversation.

Their walk was a long one despite the lack of conversation. Manuel figured she needed time to sort her thoughts out in any case. Being back at Hilary's might make her feel cornered or trapped and that would be counter productive to what they needed of her. Having her grow to trust them would make it simpler on both parties, after all, so why not start with their best foot forward?

Eventually the heat was getting to be too much for Rue, however. It was obvious to Manuel, adept at reading people after so many years of trying new things and living different lives. The way she was fidgeting had grown from being sheepish to being uncomfortable in the heat.

"Why don't we head on back, hmm?" he offered, nodding back in the direction Hilary's was. "You don't look like the sort built for this heat."

If anything else she could rest there and ask more questions of Hilary. Perhaps the man had gotten some sort of an audience with the Grand Master already though Manuel wouldn't hold his breath about that idea. In any case it was getting close to dinner. A meal seemed like a lovely idea to him.

Only when Rue had answered would he steer them around in the direction to Hilary's home or keep them wandering at her own pace. She didn't seem to be paying any sort of attention to their surroundings anyways.

----[x]----
Rekka merely tossed another look Il Lupo's way for his comment. Whatever he was trying to accomplish, well, Rekka couldn't begin to guess. Maybe he was just out to jerk her around for his own amusement. That smug smirk certainly made her feel like that might be the case.

Trying not to think about that thought she'd headed out into the hallway. Il Lupo followed silently, his steps far quieter than her own. She supposed that was a given considering everything she already knew, things that she would be hard pressed to explain if those things slipped.

It didn't seem like Il Lupo was planning on influencing where she wandered though she could feel his eyes on her even now. It wasn't until she'd started off, glancing around at the decor and the various doors, that Il Lupo actually said anything again. Whatever he wanted from her it seemed to at least be conversation for the time being. Rekka wasn't exactly thrilled about the idea of a continued conversation with him, however.

"Gee, I wonder," she said sarcastically. It had to have been obvious, even the pants she'd worn before Fiora had given her this dress were tatty and well-worn. Rekka wasn't someone who was used to being around anything that could be considered valuable in the sense many of these paintings and decorations were.

There were a few odd minutes of silence after that. Rekka just figured Il Lupo was thinking of some other little way he could try to get under her skin. God knew he wasn't making it subtle that he was enjoying her annoyance. Rekka could only hope that she'd be able to get a moment alone sooner rather than later, to try and sort out her thoughts and emotions. If she kept at it like this she'd only get more and more high strung.

After that Rekka just tried to keep her bearings, trying to remember where everything was for later. Hell, it was a little shocking to be in a building that wasn't a school that had a library in it! The entire time she wandered Il Lupo remained nearby. Occasionally he tried to start picking at her again which didn't help her situation.

She was just glad that she was able to settle down for the night, after forcing down dinner, even if the room was unfamiliar.

Rue wasn't really sure where they were headed. Her wandering was mostly aimless. She probably would have appreciated the sights a little more if it wasn't for the situation. She had always wanted to see sights like this, after all.

Not in this particular time but at least it was something. She tried to be grateful for that much.

Over time the heat was getting to her. It was uncomfortably hot. How these people stood it, she could only assume. She ran a hand through her hair, disliking the feel of sweat on her forehead.

She almost flinched when he spoke. It had been so quiet between them. While his voice was still considerably softer, it still shook her from her thoughts. She figured it wouldn't be hard to read her discomfort out here.

"Y-yea...sure." She replied briefly.

They started in the direction they had come. Retracing her steps wasn't something she wasn't rather well at. She mostly allowed him to lead her back, if only for that fact. Having her lead them back would get them lost. She'd suffer from a heat stroke by that point.

Maybe at that point, she could gain some answered. Despite her thoughts, she tried not to get her hopes up. She had an idea that she might end up disappointed.

----[x]----

She wasn't in the mood for talking after that. Not that it was as surprise. Her words were coming out snarky, snapping at him if they weren't. That made it easy to see how she handled things.

Time passed rather slowly after that. He followed her about, tried to get a rise out of her. She promptly ignored him however. He couldn't do much about it, the girl was going out of her way to be troublesome.

Il Lupo knew that she would be a difficult to work with. It was a thought he eventually had to shake away. With her turning in for the night he went on to discuss other things. There were still some of her arrangements to see to as well how to get these answers out of her.

He began toying with the idea of that bag. There were odd trinkets on it. What was inside, who knew? She was guarding it heavily as it was. Il Lupo figured at some point he might try to snag a few things from it.

For the time being he had put these behind him. The next morning he was wandering the halls again. He'd started toward her room, wondering if she was up or not. He doubted she got much sleep. Might as well check on the girl while he was able to.

For her he knew it wouldn't be a very pleasant morning.

It hadn't been until Manuel had suggested heading back to rest at Hilary's did any sort of conversation crop up between them again. There seemed to be quite a bit on Rue's mind, leaving her to mull over them all as they wandered. Whether or not she had been paying any attention to the way she'd taken them was only something that Manuel could guess at as well.

He gestured for her to follow, already starting them on the way back. He'd rather not risk her getting them lost because she wasn't sure which way to start retracing her steps. It was just easier this way.

It wouldn't take them long, not when Manuel was familiar with many side streets and able to cut down on some time. The sooner Rue was out of the humid heat and the sun the better. It looked like she was getting quite a bit red as well, perhaps she didn't tan very well.

Soon enough they'd arrived back at Hilary's doorstep, Manuel knocking briefly before allowing himself inside. It wasn't like they wouldn't be expected however it was merely good manners to allow Hilary some notification. Inside it didn't feel any cooler but the shade would do Rue some good.

"Any word?" Manuel called out, hearing footsteps in the next room. It was there that Hilary's voice would respond from.

"It seems that the Grand Master is off seeing to some important people though at best we might expect an audience with him as soon as tomorrow evening."
----[x]----
The night had been a little dreadful and ridiculous to Rekka. There was little for her to do in the room she'd eventually been escorted to when she'd declared herself tired. There were some thick books but the prose was far too flowery for Rekka's likes and that was if she managed to find any in English. Even odder that she couldn't read Italian but was having little problem actually understanding it when it was spoken or even speaking it herself...

Time passed slowly, even as she'd toyed with what she had in her bag. It wasn't like she was going to be able to lay down and just fall asleep, she'd never been able to do that even as a kid. It always took way too long to be able to drift to sleep and just laying there staring at the wall or out the window until that happened wasn't something Rekka was overly fond of.

When she did manage sleep it was light. This place wasn't familiar and any little noise seemed way too loud, keeping her up. By the time the gray morning light was filtering in the window Rekka was pressing her face into the pillow, attempting to get any sort of doze that she could.

About the time that Rekka was deciding it was a futile attempt there came a knock on the bedroom door. There was a brief moment in which Rekka debated on ignoring it before pushing herself up.

Pulling the door open she paused. None other than Il Lupo stood before her, a curious look on his face. Maybe it was the fact that she'd neglected the nightgown in the room in favor of her own clothes again. She must have looked a rumpled mess to boot.

For a moment they both stood there before Il Lupo said something. Rekka waited a second or two, looking as if she had no intention of speaking before she merely closed the door again and locked it. Crawling back into bed seemed like a better idea than dealing with Il Lupo so early in the morning.

The heat was something she knew she wouldn't be dealing with well here. She wasn't one who tanned well either. She could already see this as being a terrible mix. Of all the places in the world she had to be dropped into, it was here.

She tried to ignore it. Heat was never as easy to ignore as the cold was however. A part of her had been rather proud over the fact that she could ignore the cold so easily. Here, she doubted that would be the case.

She could feel her head begin to throb. It would get worse sooner or later. They always did. She couldn't to much about it now. All she could really do was try to live with it until it passed.

Rue was rather quiet even as they approached Hilary's home again. She didn't get a good look at it before, didn't bother now. Her head was starting to hurt, her patience wore thin with that.

Inside wasn't too much cooler. At least she was out of the sun, was all she could figure. It was the little things that mattered and what she tried to focus on.

She shuffled as Manuel took to speaking. 'Grand Master' was a term she was familiar with, though part of her was still unsure of how to feel about that. That drew back on the Templar's...The thought of that was becoming far too familiar. Her heart began to pound.

She couldn't have been in some story, could she? Time alone was one thing but being pulled into a story was ridiculous. Yet, that almost seemed what it was. She swallowed hard, trying to ignore the throb in her head. Nothing seemed to be helping at this point.

----[x]----

Il Lupo wasn't sure what to make of her appearance. She'd switched back to her odd clothing, looking rumpled and a bit of a mess. Her expression was more or less blank as she stared back at him. Even as he offered a smile, he received little response.

All at once, she'd slammed the door. A notable 'click' let him know she'd already gone and locked it. An amused scoff left him. Shaking his head, he attempted to knock once more.

"Come now," he started. His hand fell back to his side a moment after. "I am only here to greet you a good morning and escort you to breakfast. No harm."

Attempting to placate her didn't seem to work. Her response was sarcastic. He snorted through his nose. Shifting a moment, he hummed before he turned on his heel. There were other ways of getting in, though she seemed to not be aware of them.

The walk to exit the building wasn't long. After that, it was merely locating her window from the outside. That task was quick as well. Il Lupo began to scale the building. Years of practice left the feat easy.

Several minutes passed before he hulled himself up and over the railing to her balcony. It was only a moment after did he slide the window open, entering the room. He held out his arms, as if to invite some amount of praise before they fell back to his side.

"You will have to try harder than that to keep me away." He teased lightly. "Now, really, here I was trying to be nice."

She appeared annoyed and no doubt she was. Il Lupo still expected some snappy comment regardless of this. That or simply ignored. She seemed to favor one or the other, he noticed.

Manuel didn't waste too much time lingering in the doorway before he'd headed towards the sound of Hilary's voice. No sense in standing in separate rooms and shouting at one another. It was simpler and politer this way.

"Is that so?" Manuel said, eyebrow raised. So Hilary had managed something productive while they'd been wandering Havana. Sometimes it could be difficult to gain an audience with the Grand Master, after all. Perhaps Rue was more important than they guessed.

As they'd entered the room Hilary had turned to greet them, his eyes lingering on Rue. Curious, Manuel turned to see what had Hilary's attention. The look on Rue's face was enough to wonder what was on her mind. There was worry there and she'd grown only more tense.

"Is everything fine?" Hilary wondered, gesturing to Rue and glancing Manuel's way for the answer.

"She was fine just a moment ago, perhaps in need of some water but nothing like this," Manuel said before he turned to Rue. "Is there something you need? Perhaps to sit down?"

Already his hand had come to rest at her shoulder, gesturing to the nearest seat. In that time Hilary had strode forward, pushing his glasses up his nose, probably to get a better look at her complexion. She didn't look well, whatever had changed between a minute ago and now.

"Is there something you can tell us?" Hilary prodded.

----[x]----
Before Rekka had closed the door and locked it Il Lupo had spared a smile her way. Tired as she was, and maybe a little biased against him with all that attitude yesterday, she couldn't say if it was a sincere gesture or not. Though she had always thought he was a rather handsome guy before this mess had happened and had quite the fancrush on him his attitude yesterday had been more than enough to sour those feelings a little.

It wasn't long before he was knocking again and sounding a lot less smug than he had been yesterday. Rekka wasn't sure how long that would last though. Instead of opening the door she took to fussing with her hair, running her fingers through it to get the knots out.

"I plan on starving, if you please," she called out, if only to get him to shut up. There wasn't much feeling in her answer.

Quite a bit of time after that had passed in silence. Whatever Il Lupo was up to, well, Rekka wasn't about to open the door to find out. Maybe that was his game anyways, to wait long enough for her to leave or get curious. It was definitely something she could see him doing in any case.

The quiet seemed all too short-lived however. It seemed that what Il Lupo had had in mind was far from what Rekka had assumed.

The window behind her sliding opened caused her to tense, glancing over her shoulder as she'd halted in the middle of shoving her sketch pad back into her bag. There stood Il Lupo in the now opened window to that balcony and looking for all the world as if he expected some praise for sneaking in that way. Really, why Rekka hadn't thought he might monkey up the side of the building...

"I could've been changing," she pointed out before she shoved her book back in her bag like she'd been at before he'd come in through the window. Besides, she was still in her old clothes. While they were more comfortable for her to wear she'd rather not be stared at because of them.

Rue's thoughts were clouded. She wasn't sure what to think. If this really was the games story line, which one was she in? She was unfamiliar with this one. She'd been slowly picking her way through them. Was this something Rekka knew more about? Now she wished she was here even more. She'd be able to handle this better.

Still, if that was the case, she was on the opposite side. That was why Hilary took such interest. What were they looking for? Information, the Apple? She didn't know. That was the closest thing that she could figure.

A hand on her shoulder jostled her from her thoughts. She glanced up, startled for a moment. Had he said something? Had they both said something? They looked at her, waiting. Her head only throbbed a little more.

"What?" She started, her gaze flickering between the two. She must have looked a wreck. It took a moment to realize she was trembling slightly as well. "No, I'm fine. I'm...fine, I'm okay."

She wasn't sure who she was trying to convince. Them or herself. She found she wasn't sure of a lot of things. That was too troubling for her to admit.

----[x]----

Il Lupo had little idea of what she was up to between the time she'd closed the door and him climbing the wall. Regardless, she found a need to point out what she might have been doing. He chuckled in response, shaking his head.

"Certainly not pleased to see me." He answered. He placed his hands behind his back, striding forward for a moment. "I am only here to make sure you do not starve yourself."

He raised an eyebrow at that, even if she couldn't see it. He had heard what she said after she'd closed to door. As muffled as it had been, he had to take a little amusement out of it. Honestly, she seemed that stubborn.

"Now, will you allow me to escort you?" He inquired. "Or perhaps I can just toss you over my shoulder and we can be on our way?"

Il Lupo's gaze flickered to her bag briefly. It was open though, she stuffed something inside. He needed to get into that thing at some point. Perhaps if or when she left it. That was the trouble. She kept it rather guarded. He'd have to find a way around it, perhaps when she was with another Templar.

For several minutes Rue seemed out of it, a far off look to her eyes. If Manuel had to guess something was on her mind, something she wasn't sharing. He'd seen that look before though it wasn't nearly as alarming as it had been then than it was on Rue now. What the difference was Manuel couldn't say only that it left he and Hilary guessing.

Eventually she'd waved them off, her words sounding a little as if she was still not all there at the moment. Manuel's eyebrows knitted together at that, watching Rue carefully. When he did glance at Hilary it seemed his curiosity had been piqued as well.

"Are you quite sure?" he prodded. Though he looked unconvinced of Rue's declaration that she was just fine Hilary had leaned back, giving her some room.

"What he means to say that is if you don't share when something is wrong there is little we might be able to do to help," Manuel said.

"Any little bit of information could be quite vital, I assure you," Hilary had elaborated afterwards.

Manuel waited then though he, too, leaned back to give Rue some air. Perhaps having them hovering over her was doing her no good. If she needed them she nearly had to ask though if she would was anyone's guess. She seemed rather withdrawn for the time being.

----[x]----
Il Lupo's comment was more than obvious. With his attitude yesterday why would she be eager to see him? Any thoughts she'd had on him being handsome were tainted now though it wasn't like she was going to go out of her way to mention those old thoughts. No, his ego was large enough as it was.

"I'm sure," she said dryly.

She took the time to close her bag, careful to make sure nothing was getting smashed that shouldn't be. Why she was so careful with them now she couldn't say. Anything electronic in there had a finite battery life now, unable to be recharged if she used them further. It was a sad thought, actually, especially so considering these were the only things she had of her own time...

When Il Lupo spoke next it drew Rekka's gaze back to him, her brow furrowed as she did this. It was hard to tell if he was joking about that last one or not. Given how he'd acted yesterday it was entirely possible that he'd do just that. That alone left her wary, maybe a little on edge.

"That depends," Rekka started slowly, "am I going to get a chance to change at all?"

There was a moment where Il Lupo seemed to study her. There was a tilt of his head and the smile remained on his lips, a certain arrogance to it.

'I'm asking for permission to change,' Rekka thought to herself, a note of distress to it. 'I'm at a point in my life where I'm asking for permission to change clothes... That isn't alarming at all...' Nonetheless she kept quiet on those thoughts. She'd never been touchy-feely or intimate before, in fact it was more often that Rekka kept her thoughts and feelings to herself, especially so when bothered by something.

Rue was glad when they gave her room to breathe. Her head was still throbbing, her stomach twisted in knots all over again. What could she do or say here? These people were Templar's. She hated the thought of having some hand in this hidden war.

She listened to them. Despite knowing what they were, they were polite, almost concerned. Rue wasn't sure how to feel about this. She needed time to think. First, she needed to get rid of the headache, however.

"I...feel a little ill." She finally answered. She ducked her head a little, as if a little nervous for mentioning it. "If I could...lay down for a while?"

Settling herself seemed best. It was hot inside Hilary's home. She desperately wished for some form of fan or air conditioning. She just had to deal with it. At least she wasn't outside for now.

At some point, they obliged. She was dropped off in a room where she could lay down. Rue did so. While she was no more settled, her head was the splitting. She'd rather have that pass until she focused on anything else.

Laying down, she curled up in a ball and closed her eyes. The sooner she slept, the better she would feel.

----[x]----

She didn't look amused. Then again, she didn't the day before either. He kept getting on her nerves, he knew that much. He thought about pulling back a little. Where would the fun be in that, however?

Her reply was brief. He shook his head. He couldn't really find himself much enjoyment if she kept things like this. A small sigh left him.

She looked a little confused when he spoke next. Her eyebrows furrowed. He waited patiently in return. Or at least as patient as he could allow himself. Really, the hesitation wasn't needed. Il Lupo left that to himself for the moment.

When he spoke, he chuckled. "I suppose I should." He answered lightly. He strode toward the door. Unlocking it, he tugged it open and walked out. "Remember, I always a way in."

At least this way, she would know that she couldn't quite avoid him. He had his ways of getting here and there. She would learn that in time, no doubt.

He closed the door behind him, leaving her to it. Only when she was ready would he escort her to the kitchen. At least now they could get the day started.

Hilary was the first to speak, nodding and gesturing towards a nearby room. He had a fairly nice house with plenty of room; Manuel had little doubts that there wasn’t an extra room for Rue. ”Of course! I can lead you to the guest room if you’d like.”

It had taken a few minutes after that for Hilary to lead her away as he’d promised. She looked as if she might need the rest and so Manuel had spared a nod and a brief smile as they’d passed. Perhaps upon waking she might be a little more clear-headed and willing to speak about what she might know.

Manuel’s eyes had strayed towards the bag she’d had with her was now lying on the couch, abandoned. Eyebrow raised, he’d spared a glance the way she’d gone with Hilary. When had she taken it off? Perhaps it had been while he and Hilary had been speaking. Looking at it now, the strange little decorations on it, colorful and displaying all manner of odd things, enticed him.

When Hilary had returned Manuel had already taken a seat, digging in the bag carefully. He made sure to handle Rue’s things with great care, all of the things foreign to him but for the odd book or pad of paper. At least these had some semblance of normalcy even if they were still quite unlike what he was accustomed to.

It was an interesting time while Rue rested that was for sure. Hilary even joined him in tinkering with the odd items Rue had assembled in her bag, just as intrigued by them as Manuel was. No doubt the Grand Master would wish to speak to Rue with these news in hand. No one in their time had things of the nature that Rue did, after all.

----[x]----
It seemed Rekka's response wasn't the one that Il Lupo had been hoping for, he certainly seemed to study her when she did speak up. There was a noticeably tilt of his head and though she couldn't make out his eyes from the distance between them his mouth was twisted in a thoughtful frown.

Eventually he'd relented, heading towards the door but he didn't leave before shooting a smirk her way and another passing statement. If he was aware of just how those words sent a sinking feeling in Rekka's gut then he'd played it off lightly. Perhaps in this time it wouldn't be seen as too much of an issue but therein lied the problem itself.

"Oh, that's unsettling," she said simply, making no move to actually keep her words hushed. Il Lupo said nothing in return as he'd closed the door behind him, however.

Reluctantly she’d gotten to her feet, turning to the orange dress. It was the only thing she had to wear of this time period and though that color still wasn’t something Rekka liked she’d bite her tongue on the matter. It wouldn’t do her much good to complain about it, in fact she had a feeling Il Lupo would probably just use it to taunt her with next. Better not give the wolf more fuel to use against her than he already had.

It still wasn’t entirely comfortable attire for Rekka though she managed to slip the thing on without too much trouble. Only then had she grabbed her bag, slung it over her shoulder and headed for the door. Outside Il Lupo had lingered, a few feet away from the door. Rekka didn’t want to think about why he was hounding around her too much, though it seemed to be an order from someone above him Il Lupo certainly was relishing in it.

“Well?” she wondered, perhaps a little snobbishly. Rekka wasn’t much for humoring Il Lupo. “You gonna lead the way?”

It hadn't taken her long to drift to sleep after her headache dulled. When she woke, she had been surprised she'd even managed it let alone how deep she slept. She still felt tired, her body complaining and a little sore. It was still humid but less so inside.

She spared a glance around the room. For a guest room, it was still rather well furnished. Thinking about it, she didn't know one thing about Hilary much less Manuel. It was strange, silently wishing that she could have been thrown into some of the other games, in events that she at least knew a little about.

In this one, she knew nothing and that terrified her. Being on the other side of the spectrum, with the Templar's, that left her nervous as well.

She ran her hand through her hair, looking around for her bag. It took a long moment to realize it wasn't with her. Her heart leapt into her throat at that. There were various things from her time, her Ipod, 3DS, a sketch books filled with charcoal drawings, any number of those things could tip them off.

Rue pushed herself from the bed, starting toward the door. She tugged it open, a tad apprehensive, before stepping out. She hadn't paid much mind to where Hilary had lead her but she'd try to find her way back. With any luck, she'd run into him or Manuel. She needed her bag back though at this point, she wondered if they'd picked through it already.

----[x]----

Il Lupo had left the room, just as he said he would. He caught her last words and laughed a little. She found the act unsettling and perhaps him as well. It mattered little to him, he was merely here because of his task. Ruffling her feathers along the way was just a treat for him.

He waited as patiently as he could for her. Rekka took a painfully long time, though he did not knock on the door. Something so small could set her off and cause trouble. The last thing he needed was a fit at this point.

Minutes ticked by slowly for him, his only movements being that of shifting his weight on occasion. Eventually, the door opened again, revealing Rekka. The dress looked a little too bright on her but he said nothing of it.

When she spoke there was a little bite to her words. He snorted lightly in response, shaking his head. She hadn't lost her bite so far, that was for sure.

"If my lady insists," he responded, a bit of mockery in his tone.

He started off then, just catching the expression that had crossed her face. An amused smirk tugged at his lips though he remained silent. She was quite the easy one to get annoyed if he worked at it.

"I certainly hope I will not be escorting a harpy around all day," he mentioned after a few beats. "I believe that may be unpleasant for the both of us."

It was a long wait for Rue to rouse from her nap. In that time they’d rooted through the contents of her odd bag without much preamble on the matter. She was odd and so were the things that she carried and that was all the reason they needed. Besides, she was no there to stop them at the moment, Hilary had reasoned.

Hilary made mention of reporting these things to the Grand Master sooner rather than later and while Manuel agreed he proposed something else. It would do little good to provide him devices in which they had little inkling how to work or with little knowledge as to their sole purpose. They would wait for Rue and interrogate her on these things.

Eventually Manuel caught movement from his eye and he glanced up to see Rue peeking around the corner. He scoffed in amusement, gesturing for her to join them. “Quite some odd things you have, Rue,” he mentioned lightly.

”Quite. Perhaps you might be willing to impart some of your knowledge about these things,” Hilary called, waving around the little metallic colored device. At some point he’d turned the thing on though neither had any idea how to turn it off though they’d stopped the odd music that had played from it after some fiddling with it.

“No need for nervousness,” Manuel assured, his gesturing a little more demanding this time about, “you have such amazing items! We merely wish to learn how they might work.”

That would do for an explanation, whether or not she believed him about it. She had no reason to know about any further plans with these things of hers for the moment.

----[x]----
For his part he hadn’t come barging in again or knocking at the door, even if Rekka had taken her time in getting dressed. Such clothes in this day and age weren’t exactly something she was entirely familiar with and she fussed with it more than she ordinarily would have. Only when she’d figured she had it situated right had she exited the room, slipping her bag around her shoulders as she went.

As expected she was met with a mocking tone of voice, even as he swept his arm in the general direction they would be going. Rekka closed her eyes and shook her head briefly at this. It didn’t seem like today was going to be any different.

Il Lupo said nothing for a moment as he started them off. Rekka fell instep behind him, keeping that bit of distance there, the same as the day before. It didn’t take long for him to glance over his shoulder at her and to try to pick at her again.

“That’s dependent on you,” she stated curtly, ignoring the smirk on his lips. From the looks of it he had it in mind to keep at this all day.

With that she’d grown quiet again, determined not to play into his game. Honestly, it was like she was back in grade school again with the little boys all picking on the girls they liked. The only difference here was that Rekka was quite sure that Il Lupo was just being a pest to annoy her and nothing more.

The walk seemed longer than it should have, maybe because of the company she had. She would have rather preferred Fiora but that wasn’t exactly an option, what with the other woman’s profession. Besides, Rekka wouldn’t have been surprised if Fiora would remain as snobbish and moody as she had yesterday.
