He often appears to be the calm and collected sort. However, Valen is actually rather impatient when it comes to nonsense. He can't stand overly loud and childish arguments, often scolding those who would disturb his peace. In this regard, he's often remaining closest to Kalila who he knows will not start a ruckus.
Apart from times when he can be a tad annoyed, Valen can actually be quite resourceful and a good ear to speak with. He has offered Kalila guidance in her life as she has traveled.

Hair Color and Style
Her hair has always been cut in a short length and hugs her face. Often, she has hat hair from wearing a beanie all of the time. She doesn't mind this, far too used to it after creating a habit out of it for many years. Most of the time, she uses it to hide away bedhead.
Eyes
Her eyes are typically rather wide but often have a lazy look to them. They're dark in color often being mistaken for black.
Skin Tone and Complexion
Her skin is rather fair though, she can tan a little with time. She doesn't often do so, fearing sunburn as she tends to burn rather easily. During the winters, her skin is sensitive to light so coming to an area where there's more heat and sunlight can put strain on it.
Height, Weight, and Figure
Kalila stands at about five foot six and is a healthy weight for the height. She is neither slender nor chubby but a healthy in between. Her figure is curvy though, often times is obscured by the long trench coat shew wears.
Clothing Style
Her style in clothing is rather loose and comfortable. She doesn't like tight fitting clothing so she opts out for anything that she feels is most comfortable. This leads her to wearing quite a bit of baggy clothing, making her look more like a boy than anything else.

Kalila is typically a quiet, soft spoken person who doesn't intentionally want to harm anyone if she can help it. More times than not, the only reason she does is to work at Hao's own goals. This keeps her position safe within the group and near her friend who had been following Hao initially.
Despite all of the fighting, she's a laid back individual who tries to take things one step at a time. Life hasn't been easy for her. She left most of it behind so she might seek out something better. Her change in attitude has helped solidify her own resolve and carefree life style.
Often times, she acts more a little too motherly for her own good. She's a healer and as such, frets over the safety and well being of the group. She has her disagreements with the thought that only the strong deserve to see a grand new world though, mostly swallows these to spare any arguments.
Naturally, she's a little protective of the people close to her. They have been few and far between as of recent years. She has several abandonment issues and fears being left alone in the world. Due to this, she will do whatever it takes to protect those she loves.
Habits
When she's comfortable, she likes to whistle little tunes and songs that she's fond of. She often toys with her strands of hair, a habit she picked up as a child when her older brother played with it. It's a comfort for her.
Likes
Star gazing, wandering through woods or desolated areas, quiet places, listening to music, reading when she has the chance to, healing.

Needless or overly petty violence, anger or tones raised in aggression.
Shortcomings
Her biggest short coming is her fear of being alone. Due to this, she worries about being abandoned, having fully experienced it in the past. She follows the group but often wonders if she's merely disposable.
Kalila isn't exactly lazy but at times, she's unmotivated. Dealing with a history of depression in the past, she can have trouble on some days. These particular times, she simply tries to work things out on her own until she's feeling right again.
